Yes i did, its very different from the grob mind ya. I got wrong for trying to bank to much or pull up a little too much. as its easier to stall that thing.
Thx I love the grob but yeah hopefully i will remember what you said and i will try to do it right but i don't know where i am gliding/taking off from LOL but i am getting driven up there by air cadets. Is it fun?
I believe when i was last there more pilots had moved to Topcliffe because there runway at Samlesbury was closed but dont hold me to that as im not sure. Thanks for all the comments guys
645 VGS used to be the only sqn at Toppcliffe but 635 had their airfiel taken away so are now oprating out of topcliffe also, but not fully, they are only there to keep there instructors up to speed and to do some GS and GIC courses, and before anyone questions this .. im an instructor at toppcliffe so i no :)
I heard that they are now two sqns there but still only 5 Gliders based there but more Gliders are due to be positioned there in the future is this true?
it isnt just used for grob vigilants u know lol, its been ther for a long time, there will have been all sorts of different planes there over the years
Well its today, and the weather is good, Also is that RAF Leeming at 4:03 or is it topcliffe?
I know RAF leeming is just down the A1 From Topcliffe.

Hey grove1995 on your first flight in this glider did you get to take control?
I am asking this because i am going in it tomorrow with air cadets and i have never flown in this or any glider only a grob tutor.

I came back 1 hour ago it was good but only 20 min flight :( I liked it but prefer tutor.

to an etent .. both 645 ( the main sqn) and 635 who are staying there till they can get relocated are there ... but we have 7 vigilants in total

Many of the airfield in the north east area are old world war airbases used by bombers and fighters.

i went gliding at topcliffe yesterday in a vigilant! the weather was horrible, it was really turbulant but he still let me take control
