  • Happy Find!!!

  • don't get much better than that

  • Wonderful performance of a great Brian Wilson/Beach Boys tune.

For those asking, this tune was an early period Beach Boys hit. Their 'hits years' were approx 1962 to 1967. 'In My Room' was on their second album "Surfer Girl" in 1963 and and really showed Brian's musical genius with chords and vocal harmonies. "Endless Summer"/Greatest Hits came out in the early 1970s and introduced a new generation of fans to Beach Boys magic...it continues to do so. If i can only have on BBs album, that's it.

  • @GuiitarBilly I disagree. While the hits are amazing (and thus, Endless Summer/Greatest Hits is amazing), Pet Sounds is one of the greatest albums ever written. It has some hits (Wouldn't it Be Nice, God Only Knows, Sloop John B), but no other album can compare to the harmonies and arrangements. Not only that, but Pet Sounds has a gorgeous overall sound that fits its general lyrical themes. It is songwriting at its finest, so if you can only have one check it out.

  • @mightylamar - Don't undertand your 'disagreement'. Pet Sounds was recorded and released in the timeframe mentioned. Most Beach Boys/Brian Wilson fans say it's Brian's masterpiece. I was responding to some folks wanting to know about this song- providing info that 'In My Room' was an early period hit with Brian's harmonic magic fully intact. Oh, just read the last line where I mentioned I'll take Endless Summer as my desert island BB album. It's all good. You take PS, I'll take ES. Surfs UP!!

  • I do not deserve this !!!!!

  • Great to see the heart they put into the song Only Simon, Crosby, and Webb could accomplish this

  • @THEPOCONOJOECHANNEL Is there any original Beach Boys still on Tour?

  • @sixtiesforever1966 : Brian Wilson is still touring, and Mike Love tour with Alan Jardine as "The Beach Boys"

  • @pouidg I thought Mike Love took it on him self to get rid of Al Jardine? That would leave Mike love to tour alone as a beach boy? Brian Wilson along with his Brothers and Father came up with the name Beach Boys so was it not them that copy righted the name? How cam Mike Love use it?

  • Jimmy's looking a little jumpy. Love his stuff though...that "P.F. Sloan" song kills me every time. Also bass players who play their basses up so high and have more than 4 strings...make me nervous.

  • Say what you will about David Crosby, but he is one of the all time best harmonizers. Not many other singers can match his ability to find just the right part. Granted, these parts were written in 1963 but he is one of the best.

  • All David Crosby ever wants to talk about is his fuckin' liver.

He drank the first one into oblivion.

  • What a beautiful woman with a wonderful voice. James Taylor got to nail her during her prime. what a lucky man!

  • @stenostud69 James Taylor will probably go to Hell for treating Carly like shit...

  • It's been said that David Crosby dropped by the studio or home of Brian Wilson with Van Dyke Parks when tracks were being laid down for Sloop John B. Lucky bastard!

  • nice

  • "In my Room" like it has never been sung before!!! Carly and some old timers doing some great harmony.

    DMS

  • the goes nuts at the end

  • did anybody see what she was wearing??

  • Carly Simon, you are so awesone, I am just glad that David Crosby didn't try to eat you or offer to artificially inseminate you with his defective chromes.

  • Carly..... Timeless beauty and talent. LOVE her!

  • Great harmonies!

  • what a combination! great!!! carly is the queen of romantic :-)
