The beginning reminds me of this small movie clip there was on the Windows 95 installation cd about a space shooter called Deadly Tide (never played it.)
I've got to ask, how long did it take to render all this?
youre the best to make anim8tor in the whole world - so my team is looking for programmers there use xna and peoble there use anim8tor cuz we will make a 3D mmo space game and we are looking for peoble- we dont have meny players but we already know some there wanna join :) if theres enyone out there theres interested plz send me a mail here on youtube
Actually, Blender IS a more powerful animation program. It's capable of more intricate things, unlike Anim8or, but Im NOT saying that Anim8or is useless. The quality of the work depends on the one who's doing it...And this is an EXCELLENT example!
That was brilliant, the detail was amazing for Anim8or! I have one question, though - what was the music at the beginning? It's one of those things you hear all the time but never know the name! Thanks!
Thanks. The music is called "Miserere", apparently, though I don't know who it was by. This video is a work in progress, please see the completed video in my home page.
That was done after the AVI was rendered, using Corel PhotoPaint, which can dissemble an AVI into a series of editable images. The actual blurring was done frame by frame using varying amounts of Gaussian blur.
If, by "background" you mean the distant planet, I "painted" that in CorelPaint. The most important thing in making something look real is the use of lights, and how materials respond to them.
wow... all i can say is wow. i have alot of questions.#1,can u tell me how to move the camera so steady?#2,can u telll me hoe to make the landscape?#3,can u tell me how to make an up-close view example"like when it looked like u were inside the ship."and i think that covers it.
Ok. #1 Set camera to point to the moving element (camera settings). #2 Terranim8or. Free download. #3 I placed a camera behind the vessel, and made the vessel its parent (for the follow cam shots.) For the inside shots I made the vessel transparent and the dashboard was done frame by frame using Corel.
good job. One question, was this inspired by Firefly or Serenity at all? It's just that the focus-blur sequence with the ship is very similair to what was in those.
In the sense that I love Firefly, and pretty much anything SF, I suppose you can't help absorbing ideas. There was no deliberate attempt to mimic anybody else's style, though.
Yeah, I'm not happy with the water either. It was a kinda failed experiment using morphing. I intend to experiment with Terranim8or to improve this and the sky. The texture on the big ship is from two different bumpmaps (one kinda like rivets and the other random geometric shapes). I intended to create a slightly weathered look to the ship surfaces but I decided not to do anything that would increase the render time (over 100 hours just for the big ship sequence of 800 frames!).
Maybe you could use the kind of sound i used in my last movie (which is pretty simillar to this movie). And you should work on the water and the mountains. I should use a envy map for the water and a big texture map for the mountains, but thats me. I really like the spaceship, probably a hell of a job to texture right?
Yes I like this EnsonIq5! Lots of action in the 1.49 worth of Movie, however, I don`t think the music fits the theme, but thats just my opinion! Keep up the good work!
Du hast mich!

Rendering took a couple of weeks from memory, this is a preliminary test animation for the final work, which is available on my home page.

A few weeks I guess. This is an early test for the final video, called "Anim8or Space Sequence", in my home page.

im sure this would be an awesome video game, if you had the time to make it into one.

As long as EA has nothing to do with it.

Looks like you put the high-end stuff to shame. Where there's a will, there's a way.

@ENSONIQ5 It's actually a famous piece in the world of choral music... it's a famous piece by Gregorio Allegri. Written in the early 1600s.
I know the piece pretty well. Padded by a little help from Wikipedia, naturally...

How did u get the camera 2 blur and focus on that ship?

Ok, I was just wondering. I actually really liked the effect, and I think it added a good level of detail and realism.

you should add a skybox for the part where the small ship is flying around the mountains cause the sky is a bit bland
apart from that and the music absolutly fantastic job
