I am just showing an example since youtube limits videos to less than 5 minutes. you knit and purl as much as you want to obtain your length. You design your scarf with knit and purl and then when you are finished you bind off.
Why do you knit that awkward way letting your needle fall and having to wrap the thread around the needle? It seems really strange and inefficient to me.
I learned how to knit three years ago, but never stuck to it until now. I forgot how, but thanks to your videos, I learned again! Keep them coming!!! :):):) Plus, before I watched this video, I thought binding off was starting your scarf:P THANKS SO MUCH!!! :)

hello Mrs. M i'm a college student and i just recently started to knit again and i want to make a throw blanket for my grandmother, and now i'm lost! i bought her favorit colors and the right things and even the booklet to show me how but again...i'm lost! it's asking for a double knitting, which i have never done before! and it's also has to do with cable wires! if you want me to, i can give you the steps by PM and maybe if you can, can you do a show a quick video of how to start off...please!
I want to thank you for your wonderful tutorial! You have taught me how to knit and I am thrilled :) Please keep these wonderful videos coming so that we can learn more intricate knitting.
Thanks Mrs. Moskowitz you are a wonderful teacher I learned how to knit from your video..I was very helpful that you went slow and repeated the steps...You are a wonderful teacher...thanks again.
You are knitting into the wrong place and increasing your stitches. Did you start with my video "Part 1"? If not, please go back and look at Part 1. Watch the video several times and then try again.
Thank you! I love the modern age! I'm going to a friends house and she's going to teach me in person, but I thought it would be great to go with SOME knowledge to lessen frustration for both of us. I really learned a lot! I can't wait to try it.
OMG! I've been binding off like how you would with Crocheting. Btw I'm still learning how to Knit... Yet I'm wickedly awesome when it comes to Crocheting. I've been Crocheting from 20 years... I've always desired to learn how to Knit, but no one to show me how. Thank you Mrs. Moskowitz I really appreciated you sharing you wonderful knowledge. Now I can finally Knit with pride. Man, I sound so cheesy. Anyway, Thank you! ^_^ \\//
Thank you so much for your instructional videos. I watched the other guides and couldn't see what they were doing because whoever was filming focused on the person and not their hands. Then I saw your video and thought, "FINALLY!!! Someone who knows how to film a basic knitting instructional video!"
sorry to bug you :D I am almost done with my scarf that I am knitting for my future husband...and when you bind off....do you make a knot like you did at the bottom? And do you cut the bottom string too :/
Sorry I am just learning :D I can send you a picture of it when I am done :P Its not the best....but its a scarf and my first ;D
It is difficult for me to explain the binding off knot. Please watch my video for binding off again. You sort of just pull through the piece of yarn and then leave about 2 inches that you want to crochet into the scarf so the piece hanging gets tucked in. Hope this helps.
I love the way you show the instructions simply and with a nice bulky yarn and large needles. I have been crocheting now for 7 or so years and now I want to knit. Your videos make it easy.
AMAZING! I had been trying so many other sites and then thought of you-tube. Susan thank you so much for making this so easy to understand!! I get it now!
Great! Wish I hadn't bought the "I Can't believe I'm Knitting " instruction book as I had trouble understanding the basics. This is clear and the first YouTube I am subscribing to. Thanks SOO much from N. California! Ginny
Wow, thank you so much for posting this. I have tried so many times with books and teachers and everyone helping me, but knitting has never been my thing. I can croche (can't spell) and sewing, and even quilt, but never knit. Your videos really helped me and I'm starting to get the hang of it (though I'll still stutter every now and then). Thank you again.
Hi, my name is Nick. I just wanted to thank you for your knitting videos. They were very helpful. My wife got me a how to knit book for Christmas, and although it had pictures, really seeing how this process is done is very helpful.
Mrs. Moskowitz... Thanks much for your delightful "Idiot-Proof Knitting Lessons for the Idiots"! So easy to follow. I have been knitting a long "snake" for, off and on, two years. :) Quite an effort for an Idiot Knitter like myself. I thank you for your lesson on how to cast off. Finally, an end to this long rectangular "thing" I've created! Now, what to do with this blob? :) Thanks again.
these videos are great! they're really helping me alot. please continue in making them. when you upload more knitting videos, can you send me a message or email letting me know so i can watch them. thanx.
Thanks for your interest in my videos. I just completed a video about making a ruffle and it will be loaded in a few days (when my videographer finishes school for xmas).
I will make a hat video in early 2008 and will send you an email when it is ready.
Thanks so very much Mrs M. The camera work was steady (not jittery) and clear, with very good close-ups. The large needles and bright thread helped so very much as well. I wish Mrs. M was my neighbor. Her patient gentle voice was a lovely addition to a perfect knitting lesson. Thank you and God bless.
i learned more from watching these two videos "how to knit" then when i spent in a afternoon when my mother tried to teach me, but to be fair, as a lifetime crocheter it's hard to forget crochet and only knit
Very clear Mrs. M. The large needles and yarn are much more helpful than trying to decipher the drawn instructions in my knitting instructions book. THANK YOU
Oh by the way Thanks so much for the videos!! They're the only one's that thoroughly explain the procedure!I didn't get it till i watched your vids! Thanks!
you could continue either pearling or stiching i believe...haha i had the same question too, but you just go for it. You can alternate if that's the design you desire.
Thank you so much for your quick response. I added it and hopefully it is ok but I will feel more confident when I see your new video. Your videos are extremely helpful. Many thanks!

I am stuck :(
How come you show how to purl then all of a sudden when you go to bind off, you have like 10 rows?
Casting on an purling in essence gives you 2 rows, where do you go from here to keep making it longer?
thanks
