Where are the T. Graham Browns, John Connlee, Earl Thomas Conley, Trisha, and others like that from the 90's. I know Waylon, Johnny, Marty are long gone but why did we have to go to the hell we now live in with nothing on country radio.They all look and sound alike. No meaning at all.

Wasn't long after this guys like this couldn't get radio time because of wannabe country singers that got shoved at us. They continued to make some music like this but we didn't hear it on radio like we should have and then those that were staying true to country all but disappeared. Maybe we'll see singers like this come back into the spotlight like they belong. This is some good country music.

The reference to Austin, Texas is obvious. The man in the moon is crying because country music was dying off when this song was recorded. In fact, this may be the last real country music record to come out of Nashville. Country music still flourished in Austin, so country music singers (Willie Nelson) flocked to Austin to continue their craft.

I've always loved this song and video, but I can't figure out why the lyric is "Heading down to Austin" and not "Heading down to Tucson" after he "Walked her to the plane in Phoenix" and "Drove out to the desert". Austin is not exactly down from Phoenix, and it's obvious this video was shot in Arizona. Don't get me wrong, I love the capital of Texas, but It just doesn't seem to fit into this particular song very well.

I took my sons to hear Mark in the early to mid 90's, when he put on a concert at our local fair. He stood and signed autographs for a very long time after his performance. What a great guy!
