@ddr1011 hi... the difference is this: WCS starts with a 1,2 and ends with a triple step.. Carolina Shag starts with the triple and ends with 1,2... the dances are complete opposite from each other... in Carolina Shag, the Male is the Peacock and is to be watched... in WCS, the opposite... Carolina Shag is all about the footwork, fast feet... and WCS is all about leading the lady... does that help? smiles... Kellese

@Kellese kellese, i hope you have a minute and can answer a question. how can i tell the difference between shag and west coast swing? I watched you dance one in one video and another in another video, and i can hardly tell the difference. In WCS, the man tends to look up; in shag he tends to look down. shag is a lil faster, and has one turn that i can identify (it looks like a whip in WCS but it turns another 180 degrees). what's the difference? what am i missing?
