The GREATEST song of all time ...... bar none !!! .... Except the original 45 was on the pink BIGTOP label. i still have it. Still my absolute favorite song .. almost 50 years later.
Even though scratchy and a considerable amount of flutter and wow. (You might consider getting a better turntable?) Still a classically correct jam. Love it!
I'm a-walking in the raintears are falling and I feel a painWishing you were here by meto end this misery and I wonderI wa-wa-wa-wa- wonder why,why-why-why-why-whyshe ran away, and I wonderwhere she will stay-yay,my little Runaway,a-run-run-run-run-runaway.
Runaway: As I walk along I wonder what went wrongWith our love, a love that was so strongAnd as I still walk on I think of the things we've donetogether, while our hearts were youngI'm a-walking in the raintears are falling and I feel a painWishing you were here by meto end this misery and I wonderI wa-wa-wa-wa-wonder why,why-why-why-why-whyshe ran away, and I wonderwhere she will stay - yay,my little Runaway,a-run-run-run-run-runaway.
a classic... i was born past that era but i love the oldies. buddy holly, elvis, dion and the belmonts, ritchie valens, my goodness i could listen to it all day.
i have an old magnavox console stereo i got from me aunt when she passed away, and it is awesome. My niece and nephew are just in awe of how it works, and they were raised on computers and the like. lol
...oh, if you play those old singles on a new record player and a fine line cartridge they actually don't sound bad at all. Scraping and hissing noises all most disappear, even very worn vinyl come off as acceptable. It is the turntable that makes it false, it cannot keep an exact speed.
Thanks for posting...and I like the way you show the record going around while playing...but you should know that the original "Runaway" (and all of Del Shannon's early songs) came out on the Big Top record label...not Trip Records...and a song named "Jody" was on the B side...not "Hats Off to Larry."
IT IS A SON MY MURDER IS A WONDER POWER SONG THE HISTORY THANKS DEL SHANNON

This record was badly pressed I guess you could say. This side is like that, but the reverse side is just fine. Several of my 45's are like that.

That record is not even close to being centered, on the spindle lol
Good song, though.

This excellent song is the featured track on February the 8th of the book 'The Song For Today' by Jimmie Oliver.

i love the crackly sound of the scratches and pops too and im a bit older 40.
the 78's grammo records have a different sound again more like something frying in a pan.
i have hundreds of records.
