  • Anyone else see the chick fingerbangin herself in the related vids?

  • that switch under the counter for the disposal is illegal it has to be above the counter in allmost all states.

    espicaly in maine

  • The connection to the garbage disposal for the drain in facing the opposite direction of the dishwasher in my place -- mostly due to how the plumbing was done. Will this cause a problem for the drain hose from the dishwasher?

  • what about electrical

  • someone please help! what am i suppose to hook the drain hose up to if i have no garbage disposal. right now i just have the hose sticking up out of the hole in the sink and draining that way. i just got an air gap and that also need to go through the disposal but once again i don't have one. so wth?

  • @spikerhyno900 They sell PVC pipes with a dishwasher drain opening on it. Any hardware store will have it. You will need to cut the pipe to fit in most cases which takes 2 mins to cut with a hacksaw on pvc pipe. This is if you do not have a garbage disposal.

  • He dosnt even go through the electrical connections, lame

  • The Dishwasher is balogny.

  • some cabinets wont let you run drain high thru the cabinet as it keeps it from going itno the cabinet far enough under the counter, you can high loop it under sink area....and NEVER lay the d/w on its side to hook up the water or drain...always lay it on its back..thanks

  • omg..i need to put up a video showing you how to do this correctly....but then i would be out of a job...i am a appliance installer by trade...all built in appliances from disposals to sub zero fridges...and i have installed over 500 dishwashers in 3 different states and have over 20 years of appliance experience in installation and repair.....so...should i really give away the "secrets" ?...and do i tell you how to do it the way plumbers get mad about?...email w/questions..mrmeiii@comcast.net

  • good video only like all videos on here they dont show how to tap into a 1/2 inch copper pipe with a t-piece fitting for the water supply to connect to. Thats the only thing i wanna do but i cant find it anywhere

  • @taipan342 ..ok..are you trying to install where there was not one already?

if so,you need a plumber to install a T fitting off the hot side supply to sink and have a shut off valve for the d/w by itself...never use one for both sink and d/w together,as common sense shows..d/w leaks, turn off water on common vale,no water in sink...thanks..email if ur idea is diferent

  • @mrmeiii thanks dude for your feedback, I guess thats what I was trying to avoid getting the plumber to do the t-fitting. I ended up cutting the hot 1/2 inch copper pipe and using nut and olive fittings connecting a t-piece 3/4 ' for the dishwasher, it worked, leaked abit for the 1st fortnight but works well now. Thanks again

  • To pbr2424: The garbage disposal itself serves as airgap, idiot.

  • @jsblgb65 ...you are incorrect...you still need the drain line elevated above the connection to the disposal,or sink water my drain into the d/w...water will run towards the earth in the least resistance..ie not uphill in ur elevated drain..understand?...thanks

  • How to buy a new car. 1st you pay deposit upfront. Then you get your loan approved. Next you sign all documents. Next you buy your car insurance. When your new car is ready, you are good to go.

Critics will respond: You missed out the most important part - the car keys! You forgot to top up the gas! You forgot to hang up the license plates! WTF?

People who complained are soooo stupid.

  • And what happens if you have to cut out a cabinet?

  • @ArchieLovesMe as long as you have 24 inches widw after cutting out old shelves etc,and 34 inches in internal height from top of floor to underside of counter top, then most any d/w will fit...thanks

  • And what about the electrical?

  • @ArchieLovesMe It runs off the power generated by hampster spindles :-)

  • What happens if you don't have a disposal?

  • Left out the most difficult part. The power supply.

  • do you attach the water line to the cold or hot side? if cold, i guess there would be a heater inside the dishwasher?

  • @themarkmarcus ...to the hot side..all d/w require this and it says this in your installation instructions..thanks

  • must be a magic dishwasher cause if you look carefully there is power to it. Gee maybe the water line is the power source. haaa haaa

  • Sherlock, good video. You forgot to include the power hookup. Very important.

  • wat about the power

  • yeah it was great but show how to wire it up

  • @DasutinD very simplely...use a cord strain relief for electrical boxes.either wire up a plug in cord or hard wire from homeground is green or bare wire, hot is ribbed or black, nuetral is smooth or white, depending on ur electrical hook up.plug in cord or hard wire from home...thanks

  • You forgot the most important part - electricity.

  • Hello... i bought a used Maytag Performa dishwaher, model number: PDB3430AWE . I don't know how to wire it or how to connect the hoses. Laying on the floor, I have a wire with a black wire Maretted, a white wire Maretted and a ground wire...this cable is live... i tested it. Can you please help me connect this dishwasher?

  • must be a new water powered one.

  • out here in california is require you hook up a dishwasher to an approved air gap.

  • yep i am totaly retarded i didnt buy anything like I seen in this video. Well off to the home depot for the third time today.

  • looks nothing like i got thanks

  • lol...what dis you got...i just have to wash the fucking dishes...and you?

  • Thanks for your clear, concise instructions.

  • Nice vid -- unfortunately the previous owner of our new house simply cut off the copper water line connector under the sink when they moved out so there's no threaded connection there. I'll probably have to tap off the water line at yet another point and install a cutoff ball valve.

  • Well, I have to say that you americans are living in medieval times what comes to dishwashers. In europe dishwashers are mostly plug and play devices. Just hook it up and rock your dirty shit. Everybody can do it. In videos like this it seems to be most complex thing. Nice video anyway.

  • UH, what about the electrical?

  • What State and code is that. I will double check for you. AIRGAPS are very basic plumbing in all plumbing codes.

  • Here's an idea. Why don't you make an instructional video on how to properly install a dishwasher since you seem to patrol these plumbing DIY posts, in the hopes of finding errors. I'm sure people across the globe would appreciate some expert advice.

  • This is why plumbers are required to have a license. You did NOT install the dishwasher with a dishwasher AIRGAP which is required by plumbing codes. It is illegal and unsanitary to loop the drain up UNDER the counter. A plumber would be fined heavily for that. Also the electrical connections need to be of the proper gauge and GFCI protected. Dangerous way to give advice.

  • the state and counties I work in this is code. SORRY TO GORE YOUR OX

    .

  • can you explain the air gap deal? im about to put in a dish wasker and im lost..

  • An air gap is optional in many (most?) states, including mine. The instruction manual for my new unit has setup for both air gaps and no air gaps.

  • what about the electric leveling mounting testing kickplates electric cover side mounts if nessasary etc etc if u r gonna not do it right dont show ppl at all!

  • are you trying to put us plumbers out of buisness???????

  • oh pleaze, with the new Pex plumbing, anyone can plumb and entire house.

But we will always need plumbers. Don't worry.

Is your name Joe, by the way? Is it true that all plumbers are unlicensed and have back taxes like Joe?

  • nice soldering job on your hot water supply lines

  • now that's funny...

  • Thanks for the Video...I'm installing my first dishwasher tommorow and you have given some great instruction...

I dont use a dispossal unit, but I might just get one after this..thanks.

  • very clear video, thanks.

If you want to see how to prevent items from flipping during the wash cycle, check out my FlexNet video:

  • Thanks! You helped take some of my nerves away about installing our first dishwasher.
