As someone who doesn't play piano, I don't think you can truly appreciate this piece until you watch his hands. To hear the recording is impressive, but to watch how his fingers leap around the keyboard... Amazing.
@Martsigras its not that, its the first of several movements, ordinarily, the audience should not clap after each movement but rather at the end of the entire piece.
@riSibLeDew at 0.38 he makes a mistake, i think only because of his short hands, such things like that will get real hard if u can barely reach it with ur fingers.
I don't care who you are or what type of music your into, if you can't respect music and musicians like this then you don't deserve to have an opinion. Absolutely superb work! Two thumbs up for Mr. Michio, with the lil' sausage fingers and all- LOL
oh my god! he's so good! just watching this piece in synthesia took my breath away and i never thought anyone could keep up with that speed..wow,he must be a very very talented pianist.
Does he have short fingers? Anyone knows for sure? If true, then he is pretty amazing to play like this. Inspiration to those who are not gifted with long fingers.
@AndiLO75 i agree its difficult but slow practice is the key even if it bores you to death it will develop proper muscle memory and speed comes from that
maybe it's because of the sound quality or sth. I just feel that he understands "revolution" as sth like a war with no pause of bullets in the first half of the etude. An there are some notes a lil bit abrupt.
WOOOOW one of the best on this piece, very lyrical. One of the great challenges of this piece is to master the L H so fluently that you still have enough focus left to phrase the right hand and bring out the melody - well done!
There should be a cresc. up to the chord just before the final run... ?
@ scissorhands - practice! And find a good teacher.
I've seen him in live performance recently, extraordinary good pianist, one of the best from my country ( alive ). we're very proud of you maestro nishihara. I hope you have recovered
Actually he was... As you may know he was staying in France for Poland as country didn't exist... It was divide between Russia Austria and germany (don't remember how it was called exactely in that period)... So he was Polish but without a mothercountry. He's only consolation were memories of home and hope for revolution. Try to find movie "Chopin- the desir of love"
funny you say that. warsaw had just fallen (his home capital of poland), and he was obviously distraught about it. They say it inspired this etude, hence 'revolutionary'.
@elurseeknay Hey lad, a child of 8 years old can play this piece if he/she practiced hard enough. It's about the interpretation of the piece. Dynamics, phrasing, showmanship, etc. etc. Don't come in here and comment if you don't have anything intelligent to say or have any experience on playing the piano.
life would be worthless without the piano.
