I love the video! The monsoons are incredible. Last night (08/05/08) was no exception. I almost didn't need my headlights while driving on Speedway around 8:30 PM because of the lightning. LOVE IT.

Oh yea. I was at Huachuca in 82 and later north of Tucson. I loved it. People from the east who discovered it would bring their cameras and tripods next trip and set them up to try to get picts. It was always fun watching what came floating down the washes. I once saw a bobcat and a small refrigerator. You tell people that they have a monsoon in the desert in summer and they think you are full of it. They need to see Arizona! Its incredible.

Yes, I was born in Phoenix in 1960. Moved to Northern California in 1980 (SF and the wine country presently). We hardly ever get lightening and the few times we do they often set fires! I miss the monsoon season terribly. Enjoy!!

My family lives in Tucson, and I usually visit around the time when these storms happen; usually around August. It was clear in the morning, then in the afternoon, the clouds would roll in, and at night, we would to watch the lightning from the porch. I bet it's a nice place to live.
