  • what about the setup on a stratocaster dip stick i dont seem to have a truss rod plate on my headstock. . . . .

  • DON"T DO two Quarter Turns on a Les Paul or you will be way way to far..

You need to learn your gear rather then presuming you can just turn it.

Yeah you adjust, it looks fine BUT give it 3 days to see really what effect your adjustment did for you. Take heed yes thats about all there is to adjusting a neck, but what if it is froze, what if it is already to tight? There is more to it then he says. Different guitars Adjust differently. Some Acoustics adjust opposite...

  • All you guys are bitching? That's pretty much all there is to straightening your neck. Its that simple.

  • he had trouble putting it in the hole..

  • @idgman94 Well yeah if u knew this was EV why u clicked on it

  • all of u that think that expert village sucks

why dont u make ur own videos i bet u suck more than them

and why r u whatching this if u think this sucks.

  • experts my ass. more like loservillage!

  • this is worst thing you can do to a guitar,

what the heck truss rod adjustment by looking straight to guitar,

you must have superman' s eyes to see, haha

  • truss rod adjustment must not be done just by looking, what a fool crackhead haha

  • What the hell was that fool doing to that Schecter?!

  • ....i showed my local guitar tech this....he laughed.......

  • hahaha don't u just luv squirrels that like getting trashed?

  • "CHECK BY EYE."

WHAT A LYING SACK OF BULL-FUCK-WAD-SHIT! YOU CHECK WITH A STRAIGHT EDGE - THE STRING YOU COCK-EYED COCK-SUCKERS - DUH! dEPRESS AT 1ST AND 16TH FRET - PERFECT STRAIGHT EDGE - PERFECT ALIDNMENT IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, WHICH I DOUBT.

EYE BALL ON YOU SLAP TARD FUCKS - ROFL!

  • Hmmm. I guess you have to take his word for it. Cuz the video of looking down the kneck looks exactly the same in both shots before and after truss rod adjustments. Blurry. Doesn't seem like he is very comfy saying deffinately, that guitar is exactly right. Kind of iffy. I wouldn't trust him. Go to a TRUSTED and WELL known luthier.

  • how do u do this with an electric acoustic?

  • He Tried, I guess. A real expert would use the right terms and explain it better.

  • has anyone else noticed how expertvillage is shit?

  • @JizzForBritain yeah expert village has polluted youtube with over 138,000 vids and most if not all are junk. It's a waste of space in the category field to the right here.

  • @JizzForBritain Yeah, they are 100% fail.

  • I wanted to cry seeing him crank that trust rod half way round.

  • Worst explanation ever!.

  • ''...cover on and we'ra all finished''. ??

No, we are NOT fella!!! Who is going to check the intonation now, aye?!

Press the 12th fret now and check if 24th sounds the same but 1 octave higher. If not you have to adjust the bridge. ( What a cowboy )???? Take him off the youtube people...

  • @malakispanien

??? as far as "neck adjustment" is concerned....he was finished...fella!!

  • I just went to adjust my truss rod, and the outside of the head of the truss head is hex shaped, but the inside has no angles at all. And it's new. It's round inside. With no wear. And there I was ready with metric and inch scale allen wrenches...and it's impossible to slip a wrench collar over the outside of it, as there isn't enough space.

    W.T. F.?

  • Wasn't he turning the truss rod the wrong way to straighten a bowed neck?

  • Professional guitar tech cant even put an alan key into a screw. Jeez

  • @ThreadedBullet

Professional youtube Bullet person calls the head of the truss rod a screw.

  • did i just watch a minute and a half of a guy unscrewing a truss rod cover. Fuck!

  • wait do i need to do this when i bought my new guitar or my new guitar is already setup?

  • @Eldererr

Take your left hand, and press down the first fret on the big E string, and take your right hand , use your little finger and press down on the top fret, leaving your right thumb available to stretch out to be able to press down on the twelfth fret..now looking from the side of the neck, see if there is any space between the string at the twelfth fret and the string before pressing down with the side of your thumb on the twelfth fret. If none, adjust. Which way? You''ll find out.

  • The best part of the video was the 2 minute trailer for Source Code

  • This guy is the only DECENT guy on "Expert" villaga, he actually teaches you SOMETHING just not TOO well.

  • I need to find this fucken village and burn it dooooooooooooooooooooooown!

  • it is a TRUSS ROD, all you cats cussing each other about who knows what aren't even spelling it correctly. i am an amateur guitarist/my own personal luthier who has done a good bit of research on this. you are all somewhat right and somewhat wrong. professional method involves using a feeler gauges or caliper to measure distance between string and fretboard at different locations on the neck while fretted at different locations. too complex to explain here.

  • Under bowed and twisted as well it looks like to me.

  • Ha "it looks......fine for now" that's what I wanna hear when I take my guitar to a luthier

  • Comment removed

  • haha what a dumbass

  • wrong

  • Im gonna say what everybody says: Expert Village Sucks !

  • Isn't the first step , showing people how to check the relief in the neck . To determine if it needs adjustment.

He is making this up as he goes along.

Checking the neck by eye. Wow, is he taking the piss.

Put a straight edge along the length of the neck, and measure the gap in the middle between the straight edge, and the frets, (relief). Make very small adjustments, leave the guitar for at least 2 hours, check gap.

Just a bit of info in case this balloon ever looks at his feedback.

  • @DeputyDug1 Absolutely you can sight down the neck. The tech in the video states the strings will be straight, and he's right! Another good "trick" is to hold the string on the 12, or 14th fret, and the 3rd, and note (or measure) the clearance at the middle frets. This would indicate positive relief, or positive bow. Negative back bow will cause the stings to touch the middle frets. This is not rocket science! However, if you're not confident, then have a tech do this!

  • @DeputyDug1 Well, you can check it by eye. That's what I do, 'cause I lack measuring tools and can easily tell if it's straight or not.

  • @Songwriter4God snap, any good Luther can check buy eye as they do it day in day out its second nature to them, also allot of non luthers can as-well as allot of people profure to do it that way, you just get a feel for it, and any one with a brain knows this, as you can sit and mesure till you are blue in the face and it will still buzz, you don't get rid of fret buzz by measuring all day you just adjust it till it goes.

  • @DeputyDug1 thats right....you just don't assume you need the neck adjusted......you have to look down the neck first, while the guitar is tuned to full pitch. also.... an amature, young student etc, would have no idea what he is even looking for (or at) when looking down the neck. I have tried to explain to some people but some people just never "get it" ....they don't know waht to look for

  • There's nothing WRONG with what this guy's doing. If you just wanna criticize him on some minor point, go ahead, but you're not impressing anybody here.

These are just helpful tips. If you don't like it, go watch some other video.

Some people may find it useful.

You don't need to take your guitar into the shop to have your neck adjusted, unless you just wanna blow some money. These are tiny adjustments. You're not going to "wreck your neck" doing this.

  • @cciemail

Yes it's wrong, because it's not shown the RIGHT way, idiot.

  • @mesvidsfavoris

oh? what's the RIGHT way, Mr. Know-It-All? BTW, I don't see you posting any videos on it.

what makes a pussy ass juvenile retard like you post a message like that? You think you're impressing anybody? You think people will read that and say "Wow! He must really know his stuff!" "a freakin Guitar God!"

ok, let's try this... Name one thing in this video that this guy did wrong. Just one. Let's see if you can just do that.

Otherwise, SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!

  • Comment removed

  • @mesvidsfavoris u have a serious problem and u sound a dick

1, learn to spell and type properly before commenting back

2, a neck setup takes around 10mins to set and a week to bed in properly FACT

3, i have no clue why your even arguing with me

4, if your such a pro and you set yours up yourself good for you

5, end of pointless argument u fucking prick

end of the day if u was such a pro u would know that an amature dosent adjust a trussrod so stop showing off acting like ur some big expert

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994

    Ur a fool.

    EVERYBODY can adjust a guitar.

  • @mesvidsfavoris

of course he's gotta use his eyes. what else can he look at it with??? he,he.

and you don't need a ruler to see when a neck is bowed, dumbshit.

and, he adjusted it in 5 minutes because IT'S A VIDEO, dumbshit.

and, if it really takes you a week to adjust a neck, that would make YOU the idiot. he,he.

got any more dumbass statements? Bring it on, dumbshit. he,he.

    this is too easy.

  • @cciemail hes a little prick with nothing better to do commenting to every1

  • this video is so wrong no1 at all should move a trossrod only professionals take it to a shop if u dont know wat your doing u shouldent touch it at all it will wreck the neck or the guitar if u dont know wat your doing these guys at village dont have a clue wat there doing u show all the wrong stuff to people why would u show some1 how to move a guitar rod??

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994 LOL

The dude may be a dumbass, but you are even worse. Oh yeah the neck will be ruined because you touched it.

Fucking idiot, go suck your idols.

  • @mesvidsfavoris u have no clue what your talking about alltho u think u do,

FACT, turning a trossrod too many turns or incorectly kinks the neck ither underbows it or backbows it if u do it wrong and then string the guitar the tension of the strings cant litrally crack the neck due to incorect trussrod setting if u dont belive this ring up your local store and ask them how do i turn my trussrod and i bet they say to u dont touch if if u dont know how, dont comment shit u know nothing about.

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994

shut the fuck up you fucking stupid dick sucking faggot

I've setup guitars professionally for many years with some tricks that even guitar tech have no fucking clue about. Don't comment about the trust rod you pathetic little fag, you're an idiot afraid of learning.

Turning the trustrod, about 1/8 of a turn, then wait, is how your fucking 'professional' do, it's not rocket science you failed boi.

They tell you not to mess with it so they do it and take ur cash, asshole

  • This guy`s a joke, just take a look at how he is trying to turn the trossroad screw and it is not working - "uhu, it worked before" - if he was a skilled professional guitar tech for 10 or 15 years, he would know how to do it right instantly. Inexperienced guitar players: be carefull turning the trussroad screw, turning it too much might ruin your neck! + You don`t adjust the action of the strings by just looking at them from the headstock perspective you measure the distance betw neck/strings!

  • SCHECTER!!!

  • cool..

    thank you mate..you halped alot

  • people i have done this with my guitars by just looking at it its not impossible

  • @Lubial I agree it's not impossible, but if you are inexperienced in working with guitars, this is a crazy thing to try and do. This guy should know better than this if he is indeed a proper guitar tech.

  • Absolute shite, you cannot set up a truss rod just by looking along it. You should hold the 6th string down at the first fret and then around the 16th fret ( depending on guitar ) and measuring the distance around the 8th fret, do not try to set up your neck by the method shown in this video. If you're not sure DON'T TOUCH

  • expert? dont you mean common sence?

  • that's what you want ,is an underbowed neck dumb ass!!

  • made it to page 7...lost focus on the topic!?

-A guitar is like a racecar, if you can't tune it to it's maximum potential

by yourself; You're wasting your money! If what you buy can't be tuned...you're a dumbass!

  • If you all know so much why are you watching this vid or any vid by EV ?

Cry babies all of you .Go back to guitar center on sat morning with all the wanna be rock stars. One out of a 100 might think you know what your talking about. or make your own vid but that would put you in the spotlight. Brave to be out of range huh ?

  • @zofoblues ez tuff guy

  • i got my screws off 50 times faster than he did and i have 4

  • i got my screws off 50Xs faster than he did.

  • Dear "professional guitar tech" you could have at least removed the first 2 screws before you started the video... what a waste of everybody's time. The whole video is a waste of time. PS: not all guitars need an allen wrench "professional guitar tech"...

This guy in the video has just gotten the screws removed in the time I typed this nagging reply

  • If you're watching this to learn how to set-up a new guitar.. DON'T. Really doesn't tell you anything. Set-up is pretty easy, but it's also pretty cheap to have a pro do it and you'll generaly end up with a better playing guitar, especialy if it needs a little nut and saddle work

  • are you fucking serious? "look down the neck" youtube is no substitute for common sense people. if you paid more than 300 dollars for your guitar, don't try this. If you fuck this up, and depending on how bad because you're doing what this asshole is telling you, it is going to cost you around that when you get a pro to do it. tardvillage

  • I don't understand that this guy says the guitar is "underbowed," which I would think means it's too straight and needs some bowing, so he turns the wrench to the right, which should make the guitar even straighter, right? Isn't he doing exactly the opposite of what he means to be doing?

  • @GuitarFunhouse I thought the same thing underbowed=not enough relief, loosen the truss. Plus I would never crank on a trussrod like that. 1/8 of a turn at a time and let it relax.

  • @GuitarFunhouse I think he means its bowed too far and it needs to be straightened

  • 90 seconds of removing the truss rod cover to get us started on "How to setup a guitar". Atrocious. This guy should be ashamed.

  • DO NOT do this. never adjust a ROD with tension on strings, you can damage the treads of the nut. first measure the relief you need then make the adjustment. AND try not to turn more than a QUARTER TURN and let it rest for 5min at least, before checking, sometimes longer. This kid is a jerk, he never measured or did a simple 1st and 12th fret test.

  • wow just the same as I put the guitar between two block and stand on the middle of the neck.

  • what an idiot....I didn't realize "experts" use a $10 tuner, I've been a tech for 8 years and have always used a strobe tuner....DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY!!!!!!!

  • @avhcbeaver2

I have played for 38 years and done all of my own work out of necessity - basically, you can't afford to pay someone when you are a kid. I use a Sabine tuner that gives great results, maybe not as point on as a Korg or Peterson but close enough for gigging. I fret the strings to estimate the bow of the neck and take my time unless at a gig and it has to be done pronto.

  • ALWAYS ADJUST THE TRUSS ROD ONLY AFTER YOU DO TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS! (i'm a graduate of Roberto-Venn and the Owner of Vintage Guitar Repair in Royal Oak, Mi) 1. measure the neck by putting a capo at the first fret, then put your right hand on the fret where the guitar meets the body usually around the 18th fret, then measure with feeler gauges at the 7th fret (your measuring the gap between the 7th fret onthe "e" string and the top of the fret. .010-.006 is optimum. 2.detune b4 adjusting

  • @nickothompson thanks for this info.

  • @nickothompson thank you that was exactly the information I was looking for and to whomever made this video please take it down or correct it .It isn't cool to show people how to ruin their guitar no matter how much it cost.

  • good stuff. thanks. i learned.

  • Im surprised that a guitar tech would adjust a neck and not check for the correct amount of relief @ the 12th fret :0(

  • expert vllage sucks ass

  • i dont know much about guitar...wat is the truss rod for exactly? whats its purpose and what is the reason for having a bowed or underbowed neck?

  • @CORNP00 if for example the strings tension on your neck would change your neck would get to bow or underbow. the truss rod is just a rod which you screw or unscrew to adjust your neck back to normal ... that's pretty much it.

  • @CORNP00 Don't trust this guide, it's really bad, and may lead to damage to the truss rod nut... its imperitive that you loosen the stings until they are slack before adjusting the truss rod, adjusting at full tension can cause the truss rod nut to strip, also, you have to take a measurement of the neck relief before just adjusting, otherwise you won't know how much or which way to go! This guy is no expert.

  • @nickothompson Can you tell what the measurment height is for thumb wheels on a tune-o-matic bridge is? the guitar is a zakk wylde les paul custom (epiphone).

  • @guitarsamurai1

    You can Google that info.

  • Omg.. where do they find these people on "expertvillage"?!

He has shown us only 1 type of truss rod on 1 guitar.. There are like 3 different types out there. And yeah, it gets untuned.

  • this is bullshit

  • the truss rod will effect the tuning, not the fact that he completely untuned his guitar to adjust the rod

  • This is why Ray Charles played piano.

  • You're gonna break the neck dumbass! You idiots on "expertvillage" don't know what the fuck you're doing!

  • I would expect an "expert" tech to at least have a tool set equal to such a skill level. The best tool you have is that craftsman screwdriver. Everything else looks to be pure garbage. I wouldn't let you touch any guitar with those tools. But, I guess Kmart had a tool sale. Serious techs invest in thier tools.

  • jesus h. this guy is a complete fucking idiot....fucking moron.

  • it took u 1 and a half min to take the fucking trust rod cover off, would not like u to be my tech (slow)

  • If you own a $3000.00 Gibson custom shop guitar, take it to a Gibson authorized dealer! This video does show the basics, but there is much more to it! For example, he literally yanks the allen wrench HUGE NO NO! Always turn the wrench s l o w l y and steadily. Jerking the wrench can break or strip the truss rod if it's already tight. The tach fails to inform you that the YOUR truss rod could be very tight, so great care must be excercised when adjusting.

  • @TheFRiNgEguitars

Where did you find a $3K Gibson custom shop guitar? Hidden under a pile of junk at a yard sale?

  • @alwaysopen Who should be so lucky to find a custom shop Gibson under a junk pile? :-)

  • DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR GUITAR. TAKE IT IN TO AN EXPERT AND LET THEM DO IT!!!! I almost ruined my 3,000 dollar 30 year old strat!!! THIS GUY IS A RETARD!

  • All I heard was "Hi, my name is Nooby McNooberson. I know jack-shit about guitars and I'm going to show you absolutely nothing of importance and waste 5 minutes of your life."

  • noobpert village

  • underbuuuwd

  • You actually are truly beautiful, thank you for the video tutorial. its depressing im living in Indiahoma mainly because i can not find decent make-up, on the other hand i get free of cost cosmetics samples from 'Gratis Makeup Samples'. i love Garnier make-up!

  • Why wouldnt you measure the height instead of just looking down the neck?

  • Ass hole who taught you a dwarf ???

  • maybe i am missing something here but why does he tune the guitar each time before he looks down the neck? what does that have to do with anything? the strings need to be tight but not necessarily in tune?

  • @Xaeravoq he tells you why in the video cockass

  • @theoryofgrey oh thanks i must have missed that part cockass

  • @Xaeravoq

Because tuning up to pitch pulls the neck to the point at which you'll be playing it. If you didn't tune it up you wouldn't have the proper amount of string tension on the neck check the bow. get it??

  • Oh yeah, lastly...this isn't an action adjustment. It is a relief adjustment. Bridge and nut in correlation with the neck and possible shimming the tonge (on a bolt on) is what an action adjustment is. This will help with your action but it in itself isn't an adjustment for action.

  • So many things wrong with this adjustment. First of all I would never trust anyone who doesn't tune using a reference picth...using an electronic tuner will never get you perfectly in "temprament" tune. That's why your g string will always sound out. He doesn't hold the guitar in the playing positon while evaluating the neck...this creates variable neck tension. Not playing tension. Third. He doesn't use a straight edge. =-(

  • this is a ridiculously bad lesson. what if the truss Rod was underneath the neck n u have to strip the neck off the body? (older style guitars). my problem is i cant bend my strings any time i do that it mutes the sound. it would b good if u can explain that rather than tryin to explain whats overbow n underbow is n showin us the same picture from the same angle......

  • my electric guitar doesnt produce any sound ? ..

    what should i do ? ..

    pls help me ..

  • @iLyo5 So many diferent things. Did u make it your self. Is your amp working ;p Can u hear any string resonance at all? making a guitar and tracking down any mistakes will be a long but worthwhile process.

  • @MrJackanthony uhm yes my amp is working good ..

but when i touch my guitar its sounds like grounded ? ..

    in the string also ?

  • @iLyo5 Im not so sure what you mean by grounded. You still havent said if you made the guitar yourself. Anyway if you mean ther is no sustain check the pickups. Check that all the parts are fixed firmly and that there is nothing that's comming off. Please give me more details and Id be able to help you.

  • @MrJackanthony okay ..

my guitar doesnt produce any sound ..

my wires are working good ..

but when i plug my wire to my guitar ..

and everytime i touched my guitar ..

    it produce a grounded sound ? ..

    and ..

    my pick-ups are good ..

    theyre not damaged ..

  • @iLyo5 Again please tell me. Is it a guitar you bought or made? If everything lese is done perfectly(i.e. wood structure neck joints etc) then most probably its something to do with the electronics. Even though your pickups are working they may not be wired correctly. If you find nothing take it to a music store just to make sure. Please try to private message me as I intensely dislike posting long comments. Take care.

  • how am i supposed to listen and follow your instructions, whilst reading a different set of instructions on the screen?

  • I would never pay this "professional" to set up my guitar. I had been doing this for 4 years and I'm way better at it then he is

  • @flip080210

He works at some GC in the middle of North Dakota and this is how he spends his 'busy' time.

  • mmmm expert village its kind of useless

  • mmmm expert village its jid of useless

  • IF some kid with no clue comes on to watch this, then when you say, under or over bowed, he wants to know exactly what you mean. SO, if by underbowed, you look down from the top and see that the strings on the left are further away from the frets than the low strings on the right, he will assume that when you tighten the truss that the neck is going to rotate toward the right, or, looking down, the left area will come up, and the right of the neck will drop a bit. But, is that what is happening?

  • i agree, i would call it convex, or concave.

  • @kristreyes same

  • Noob is right. Try playing a cord on that guitar then tell me its ready. He didnt even check his action at the 1st or 7th frets. How did he know the thing was out? At least he didn't pull out the fret files like the dude on the last video did. LMFAO!!!

  • Dude sounds like Danny McBride.

  • clueless!

  • how did you lower the action if you put more bow in it? more bow higher action!!

  • I went to the guitar store to get a truss rod adjustment and to get thicker strings. If say you have on guage 12 strings does the action become higher?

  • I would not let him work on my guitar!!! There is a better way to check and see if the neck needs adjustment.Go to Gibson or fender web site and make adjustments according to manufacture directions. Go back to school and this time read the instructions that came with the guitar.

  • noob.

  • dunno I have only played for 3 years. But learned the hard way to leave the truss rod alone, neck cracked on a cheap Epiphone SG, luckily. Glad it wasn't my dean. IMHO unless you know what the fuck you are doing, let a pro fuck with the neck n stuff. Because once you mess with the rod, then everything else goes out of whack.

  • It Dooesnt Work Dude, Im Trying To Adjust My Neck On My Warlock And Its Not Going Anywhere

  • All the strings are very close to the frets at the first fret from all strings, and the further down I go the further the strings go from the frets, what do I need to do or its is supposed to be this way? Buzzing a little bit..

  • On your bridge thing, theres those one block type things(cant remember what theyre called), anyway on most guitars they are there and you get a alen wrench and u pull them up, adjusting your string hieight, theres a lot of math to this stuff to get it just right by normally you can just tell.

  • @tayloj16

Yep, reeg mi corg, ableb guitarra, enensalada sopa.

What was I going on aboot?

I was gonna stick a block of styrofoam into my guitar and do my math homework with allen wrenches but I got high.

  • @TheZiqvpix there is supposed to be a littele bit of an underbow on the neck to solve this problem.....the strings will be farther from the fretboard at the upper frets with a tune o matic style bridge than a floyd rose of fender trem or tel bridge but that will happen no matter what

  • How do you make it so, that the strings are only above the neck 1 mm, thus the tone stays clean ?

  • On Some other page, i read, that a guitar neck HAS to be a little underboat, they mentioned, that you could hold the first, and the last fret, and check that the 10th fret has about 0.5mm-1mm of space between the fret and string

  • @DarkMuhahaha Its Underbowed.

  • i dunno.. he sounds like a rookie tech to me

  • expert village is so garbage. not just with guitars, but with everything else they claim to be "experts" on.

  • @7amsays fuuuuuuuccccckk yyyyyaaaahhhhhhhhhh

  • there's so much more to this than this (professional guitar tech)'s method. he's not checking for fret buzz or anything which i guarantee a guitar player who has little or no experiences with adjusting the truss rod is going to run into. and you will not get it right the first time i promise you.

  • all you need to do is throw the trust rode cover on and your all finished. what he forgot to leave out is once you RE tune the gutiar the neck is going to be out again the bowing of the neck affects your tuning and you should ajust the trust rod while the guitar is in your choice of tuning the only reason you mshould need to losen the strings is to get to the cover then retune and ajust, because as soon as you losen them the tension on the neck is released and the bow will change shape

  • agreed, but I recommend tune the guitar up to 1 step down or just so, adjust, then retune, let it sit 20 mins, check, repeat.you need some stability and NO floppy strings but not the whole pressure. adjusting with floppy strings the rod has no tension and it will have some space to move and mess up your adjustment as you're working on it! :)

when in desired tuning you want the rod to hold firmly but allowing some longitudal bend.

    do it patiently.

  • sorry for being a bit stupid, but can some1 tell me what a truss rod does to the neck ;exactly???

Does it actually bend it of what??.......

any suggestions for good site where i can find all such silly info????

    plz help.

    thx.

  • This should be re-titled 'How to take off the cover to the truss rod adjuster'

  • LOL

  • Man that dude must have a pretty "straight" eye! If I was him I'd be hustlin in pool halls!

  • expert village is worthless.

  • @bigmacattack0 hello

  • @bigmacattack05 f uuuuuuuuuu ccccccccccccccc kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk yyyyyyyyyyooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • yes ma'am

  • What?!? He didn't even play it to see if it was buzzing at all.

  • This guy's probably not a real guitar tech, he's probably just a store clerk assigned tech duties to keep the store guitars playing okay. He probably had about an hours worth of training, probably by someone who was misinformed in the first place.

  • If you pick up the guitar by the headstock to look down the neck, gravity will pull the guitar down and give it a false bow. The better way to do it is to hold the guitar in playing position, and check the neck by holding the string down at the first and last fret, THEN compare the neck to the string. A good way is to use a feeler gauge to see how big a gap there is between the top of the fret and the bottom of the string, right in the middle.

  • whats a feeler gauge, and how do you use one?

  • it's pretty ironic that this is from expert village. do not follow this guys advice or you will damage your guitar!

  • I adjust my truss rod according to the season's climate change.

  • The way he says "bowed" reminds me of Keanu Reeves in the "Bill & Ted" series.

  • im having problem.

i adjust my neck abit and change gague to 11

and tryed Drop C tuning the CGCF strings all get very tight. isnt drop C suppose to be loose tension and not tight? someone help me.

  • when you use bigger gauges thats how the strings feel

  • No because the strings are thicker, so the tension should feel like a light set tuned to E.

  • Annoying vid.

  • I belive you should loosen all tension before adjustment, also the effects of turning a truss are not instantainious there next video, how to strip a trus rod!!!!

  • Mikkeyboyy: Yes,you're absolutely correct.. you should really loosen tension first before making any adjustments. I wish i knew this around 35 yrs ago. Also, i can't work out why he loosened the strings at 3:45.(??) Most good techs will always keep the guitar at concert pitch whilst adjusting the T rod.
