  • cant wait to get my fd already rotary power

  • absolutely amazing car, I want my rotary to sound just like this.

  • Put it right there, when and where you want it.

  • I like how you can watch his feet and the road at the same time without a split screen!!

  • 2 people saw this video while waiting for the bus.

  • Sweet waste gated raptor jesus that thing sounds fucking awesome.

fantastic car and great driving, everything i see from Twins Turbo is just lunacy, keep it up

  • Two people ride a segway ...

  • is that a 20b or p.porting on a 13b

  • Whats the Name of the song featured in this video ??.....

  • Nice owning these cars the return investment sucks so does the bumps and theres always a faster one and people always trying to race you at the lights, but then again theres nothing like driving one to work and from work knowing this is what i did

  • Nice throttle pickup in the turns, : )

  • 1 word WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • what the heck are you guys crying about?? COOL VIDEO!!!

  • admin song please!

  • jesus christ!!

  • fire

  • haha love the smoke at the end

  • What's the point? The car sounds like shit. You can't use it on the street. And the interior looks like shit. Worthless. Stick to Nascar.

  • god your an idiot AND a redneck

  • oooooo... tisk tisk

  • LMAO .. you made me laugh!!

How about this is a Fuckin RACE CAR!!!!!

  • Your a dick its a race car not a show car and he COULD use it on the street if he wanted to? Ive never seen suck a fucking retarded comment.

  • Car is shit.

  • @ProjectCerebrus This is a time attack car. I dont know if you have seen a time attack session in person, but they dont give a fuck what their exhaust sounds like, as long as it performs! I mean, the car has no dash, far from a streetcar.

And remember, Nascar only makes LEFT turns..

  • Nascar is shit, so he should drive in it. I have seen time attack cars, but am I the only one that knows how to make a time attack car without making it look like shit? I am all for gutting interiors but god damn these cars always look like shit.

  • And I wonder if you have ever seen a Japanese time attack car ;]

    Youtube Best motoring :p

  • Ok, we have a dumbass in the building. What dont you understand about race car? You must have never EVER seen a real race car in person, stick to the internet buddy.

Ohh and so you know, youtube "Hot Version" and you will find every single best motoring battle.

  • lol kid. I guess all you know is what you see on Youtube huh? My s13 has a full Carbon Fiber / Aluminum interior, it doesn't look / sound like shit /streetable / and the quickest in it's class @ Raceway park. I would love to see that shitty "race car" keep up with me in a mountain pass. Oh wait I forgot, it can't put power down to real day driving roads :D

Fucking shithead. Come back after your balls drop or you actually finish a Spec Miata Event.

  • RACE car, RACE car, RACE car. Im not sure if you realize it, but he cant race you on ANY mountain pass, this is a TRACK car.

No vids of your car? Just vids of your dorky ass fuckin w/ your internet connection. And anyways, my 99 4cyl Camry (yeah bitch, at least I have a car) will stomp on your car, seeing as though you dont have one. Stick to computers dude, leave the cars to REAL men.

  • A little advice, people like you, raged nerds, usually are mad because they are lacking in the gential area. I have a car, and I have a motorcycle. My suz GSX 600 Kat is a pos and it would still wreck anything you will ever own. Isn't that sad kid? ;]

  • who said he cant take it on a mountain pass? haha

  • i dont mean to double post, but this has a 20B right?

  • No its a 13b

  • and this is why i adore rotaries.. much respect to the builders and driver of this Rx7. beautiful exhaust note i might add. exterior isnt flashy either, pure import yet built for downforce huggin that pavement. i felt joy seeing that fly down the track and break that record lol.

  • Nice car. Needs a driver tho

  • now thats a niice rx7 :P my friend has it, but stock.. my father used to have rx8

  • have you got that onboard video of a supra and you were racing him with your fd, i ve been told its the supra from the same garage maybee you can post the video for us cos i cant find it again. thanks

  • why not heel toe? corner entry would be much smoother...

  • my thoughts exactly. you can see the entry getting squirly without heel n toe. Thats the diference between time attack driver and road racing drivers.

  • @supersevenn thats just his style. he used this car the same year road racing as well. this one and his other race car won multiple races. whatever works...

  • Got revs?

Yes you do! That car is carrying very nice corner speed!

  • holy crap haha

  • i cant find this song anyone know the name? :(

  • Wow! Great time!!!

  • shmately I think you are confusing clutch dumps with rev matched downshifts. A proper rev matched shift prevents the motor from sending or receiving any torque from the rear wheels on clutch engagement.

Its other words its has an overall neutral effect on vehicle speed. A good shift is heard not felt.

This allows the brakes to apply a constant force to the tires and body rather than the disturbing jerks un-matched downshifts cause.

  • Yes when is is perfectly matched it will not give you forward momentum, but it will not help your braking at all. Hear is a some quotes form 'Drive to Win' by Carrol Smith - "It's one thing to downshift 4th to 3rd 2nd in 7.3 seconds or so, but it is a lot different to go from 6th to 5th to 4th to 2nd in 2.44 seconds. This is assuming the driver is modulating braking to the maximum the tires will accept and perfectly blipping the throttle and matching revs without locking tire or over reving....

  • What I am saying is that, to me, rowing down the gears in a 'standard' non sequential gearbox is both a waste of time, effort and a detriment to efficient braking. To me the engine is for making the car go forward and the brakes are for slowing it down."

That is the piece of literature that got my head turning about this whole downshifting thing. Carrol mentions the heard not felt thing on the previous page.

  • And that neutral effect on vehicle speed thing you mentioned would only apply if you wanted a neutral speed, we want braking force when slowing down.

Read "Drive to win" chapter 4 and you will understand.

  • All this does not mean downshifting is not fun as hell and can't slow us down at a comparable rate to straight braking. It is just less effcent from a racing standpoint. You get less effective modulation of the brake because the same foot is rocking the clutch too. You risking over reving the engine, damaging the clutch, locking tires and spinning among other things. Probably why they use sequentials

And I can't stress this enough. NONE of this downshifting talk applies to a one gear downshift

  • whats the name of this song?

  • A common misconception about this rev-matching/heel toe subject. ANYTIME you touch the gas you are moving the car FORWARD, not really what you want to be doing under braking, right? Go read some basic racing books and quit watching videos. I am not saying either will slow you down better, it's more of a driver preference thing.

Fast does not have to be perfect or pretty, you want to judge someone's driving? watch drifting. This is racing where the clock and the checkered flag is the only judge.

  • Comment removed

  • What logic would that be? This is obviously pertaining to when the car is in gear.

Your in gear when you downshift not in park dude, when ever your in gear and you push the gas, what happens?

The car goes forward. Even if you are counteracting this forward momentum with the brakes(heel&toe) you are still hindering your braking force by giving it gas.

Check some of my videos of me drifting my 350z, I may not be some hotshot like you, but I have been a pro drifter for the past 5 years.

  • 5. You just put your car in gear with revs up, when your trying to slow down, right. (assuming your still under braking)

    6. What does that do? that gives the car forward momentum when your trying to slow down. Exactly my point, thanks for the detailed explanation.

You can convince yourself all day long dude, but facts are facts. Your step #3 is my point: when you release the clutch with motor is revved up you will get forward momentum. Its how cars work, the gas make them go forward.

  • Dude, your just making a fool of yourself. I posted a reply with some decent info if you care to read it. All your telling me is how to properly downshift. The issue is that you will stop faster without downshifting. It is a debatable subject, and you choose to be an stubborn idiot and accept it. Read "Drive to win" chapter 4, open your mind to others opinions and inputs then maybe you'll take your head out of your ass and learn a thing or two. Age has no meaning kid, I was 21 when I went pro.

  • All these race drivers have no idea huh? I wonder how they got there?? Why aren't you racing if your such a hotshot? Oh, thats right, your an idiot! My bad, I forgot about all that.

Get a life dude! Then learn to drive!

  • Comment removed

  • wait do you seriously think that or are you just kidding? I bet you don't drive manual, or you don't drive it well.

  • Quit all your bitchen and give the man some props you noobs. Whooped your track time you don't have.

  • So what if he has the lap record? Any self respecting racer rev matches, or heel -toes (braking and kicking the gas while the clutch is down since your so ignorant to driving). It's the set-up he has that beat the lap record. Another driver in that car could most likely beat that time after a short practice in the car. Read up young buck lol you have alot to learn.

  • Comment removed

  • well hes not a professional driver, vast majority of the guys at time attacks like SLB are weekend warriors. he doesnt lap racers for a living. and that car did catch fire after that lap...lack of heel-toe may have built up extra heat in the tranny and may have contributed. im just surprised he wouldnt put a sequential transmission after all the mods he put into that car. mean ass car though, thats for sure.

  • Oh yeah definitely...I'm not knocking the car at all. I peed my pants watching this lap...:)

  • Comment removed

  • I notice that the driver isn't rev-matching...that's not very professional

  • That's a pretty idiot comment...

He got the track record because he wasn't professional right?

  • Different car different needs my man.

  • hahah wow typical youtube comment.

  • your a BIG tit arn't you!!!

  • reving that high with a turbo?! thats a nice ass set up

  • this is car is amazing.

  • Amazing

  • That is a 2000lb box of rape.

  • Holy s***...Nuf said

  • Who ever was driving really trusts that car. Beautifully aggressive lap.

And to those who say this is sped up... I disagree completely, Ive seen myself respond that fast while driving. This guy is in the ZONE. I bet he felt completely alive after that one.

  • The sound of that rotary gave me a boner

  • Ya, cool song wat is it?

  • That is 10/10ths driving ! Well done. Great track for testing the limits of the car as there is friggin nothing to hit.

  • anyone know what song this is?!?!? great driving and music in all your video's jack!

  • Nasty, nasty nasty.

    I want one ...

  • sick track car!!! puts a huge smile on my face just watching it, can't immagine what it'd be like to pilot it.

  • Does it have 3 rotors? It runs an M800 MoTeC Engine Management System which is made for 3 rotor mazdas.

  • you are outta your mind.

    buy a clue man...

and it is not a 3 rotor.

  • I tried to, "buy a clue man!" I went on the MoTeC Website to see what Managed the Engine. And it says it can handle a triple rotor. So i was curious if it had 3 rotors. But apparently you didn't get the clue i was just asking.haha

  • it can handle a 3 rotor and that is it doesnt mean this car is a 3 rotor engine it means a 3 rotor engine is all the thing can handle max

  • Man I won't not have picked that as a turbo motor. I thought PP/JP as there was no lag at all. I guess the two turbos work well together. Congrats on a great built. Now let me drive it!

  • It has a single turbo.

  • and THEN it caught fire....damn shame, wouldve been interesting to see what it coulda done if it lasted and finished its laps. he ground out that transmission one shift baddd too...

  • yeah but it wasnt that bad of a fire, they supposidly have added more power and less weight after repairing the fire damage. It is super fast too, love the vid!

  • scary fast...

  • The looks of the car, the sound, the level of driving...intense. Awesome piece of footage.

    Sinescent:

can you tell us what title for the song is?

  • That car stall0wns, it is almost scary just riding with the camera! :OP

  • Of course it looks doctored. The Twins Turbo Road Racing team is at the top of the game. There is a reason a lot of guys are afraid of that RX7.

  • Not sure if you've all taken this into account but cars that have been lightened , are on slicks, and have very hard suspension, twitch all the time. Comparing it to your Civic on snow tires, GR2's and Eibach street springs is not reason to call this poster out for falsification.

  • well said

  • Excellent point Tekvicious. For those who think this video is altered, consider this; The stiffest coilover setup designed for the street from Tein are the Flex coilovers, the spring rates are 560 lbs/in front & 450 lbs/in rear. Compare that to their race coilovers, the N1 models which are 1120 lbs/in front & 1120 lbs/in rear. More than likely this car is running a similar suspension, with similar spring rates. As mentioned before, combine that with lighter weight and solid bushings. Not altered

  • Good to see armenian blood putting it down the fastest :)

  • plans are to evolve the suspension for more mechanical grip..for this run we were at what we consider low boost so we will be making aprox 100 more hp next time out..should be fun.

  • What are the plans for this car for 2008?

  • bellissimo

  • I like how the video is sped up.

  • Where'd you come up with that one?

  • If you watch the drivers hands closely, they shake a little faster than normal. The drivers head movement is a bit odd also.

  • Yea, he broke the lap record by speeding up the video... funny guy

  • I'm not saying that they broke the lap record by speeding up the video. I'm saying that they simply sped the video up. People's heads don't shake that violently when going over bumps in any track.

  • The video has not been sped up, so obviously there's something wrong with your visionary judgment.

  • uhhh no...if you ever watch f1 driver's their hands move very fast this video isn't sped up at all.

  • sorry but i have to say it looks sped up as well. i dont think it was intentional, it could be something as simple as a PAL to NTSC conversion problem. it does not look like it's playing back at the proper speed, the way the car is responding is not natural, but if you slow it down a bit it looks normal.

  • listen to shifts, if this is sped up, then the shifts are pretty epically slow

  • don't be a hater.

you obviously never been inside one of these cars.

  • Its about time I find your videos, Jack. See you next year. Your friend Tiko.

  • OMG that car sounds scary..lol. I noticed around 1:43 a wiff of smoke , that the cabin begins to fill with a little smoke , then again at 2:30.

  • fucking awsome

  • Rotor Fantastic!!!!.

  • Let's keep it civil people.

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!! my new favourite!! :D

  • Very cool Jack, awesome....

  • Holy twins turbo batman! That thing turns like no tommorow.

  • the driver does not use heel and toe

  • and he still beat the lap record... heh.

  • He did, but that hurts the engine

  • That's a funny comment...

  • You're right, heel and toe hurts the engine.

  • Apparently Jack Mardikian has heel and toe'd so much that he now has a missing toe. I heard his heel well it's all messed up.

    ;)

  • lol.

  • LOUD LITTLE BASTARD

  • Congrats whit the record lap time but i hope the twins turbo supra will beat this time someday.

  • Now that's how you setup & drive a RX7!!! It's good to see how effective the RX7 is as a track weapon

  • you can go to our website "twinsturbo" to see pics of how WE built this car.

  • wonderful build-up.

Did you use Burns Stainless ?

    :-) neil

  • thanx,

    negative on the burns stainless

  • ha ha...

  • Holy mother of god. ROTARY POWER

  • great video, great lap. i see motul stickers on your car. what oil do you use? does motul have specific oil for rotary?

  • that thing is wicked! good job twins turbo!

  • Congratulation to Jack Mardikian and everyone else involved on this team! You guys are top notch!

  • Congratulation!! Eric and Marc at Twins Turbo on putting together a really badass car.

  • NEW RWD record !!!!!!!!!!!!!!.awesome drive man. car sounds MEAN..
