Does saying "I'm sorry" hurts? Admiting a mistake hurts that much? When Jean Charles died, the English media made a report about the corruption in Brazilian police to take the attention away from them. Yes, there is corruption here, but doesn't change the fact they made a mistake.

A civilian English guy my brother met apologized to him for the English police's mistake. I have nothing against the English people, but all against their police and media, they proved how disgustingly proud they are.

Since the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes, 330 people have "died" in police custody. Not one of these thugs has been punished or held accountable in any way and, as is most likely, they'll get away with murdering Mark Duggan too, an unarmed man shot in the face after he'd already been pinned to the ground by 4 armed yobs. Police have now made a compensation payment to the family (Undisclosed amount, WHY). But really jo public is paying for this and not the officers invoilved. The cost of this should be taken from there pension funds as the minimum punishmnet for there actions since NO one was charged with murder. White wash

Sir Ian Blair, you should not take the credit for this take out of terrorists. The person who killed him is Commander Dick. She was given a medal for bravery for her brilliant execution of the terrrorist. She said later that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience which bought to bear all her experience and police training. After her superb work, Commander Dick was promoted to Assistant Commissioner, a two star General rank in the UK police force.

I'd like someone to post the original BBC report with eyewitness accounts of police pinning him down, then "one officer coldly put one foot on him and shot him 7 times in the head" - an execution. A friend of mine quit the force because of "their cavalier attitude - the officers main concern was to boast of being the one who clocked up the kill". The real "treachery" is the cowardly armed response met police scum threatening to leave London unprotected to protect their trigger happy colleagues.

The simple truth is that the surveillance officers were not armed and so were not authorised to stop JC earlier because of his considered threat.

JC's shooting is undoubtedly the biggest balls up in British policing history no one would deny that. But to claim S019 and the MET are "irresponisble" and "as usual have blood on their hands" stinks of treachery when you consider 14 or 15 attacks of a similar magnitude have been stopped, by officers under pressure you can not imagine
