I have kept homing pigeons and raced them for three years now and to be frank I cried when I watched this. The birds aren't even given room to fly meaning that they are unable to fly properly. I would like to think that the immature idiots that comment on this video calling it sport should take a minute to think about how they are prolonging the suffering of the animals. This is simple cruelty. Even I know this, and I feel more mature that any person featured in the video, even at fourteen.

@oakley6691 I agree. This really isn't hunting. Ever see tha canned hunts in africa where some rich guys picks a lion out of a cage and shoots it? This is alot like that. These pigeons were raised like pets and released into unknown territory to be shot by people who are too lazy to actually hunt.
This isn't how the real pigeon shooting works. Live pigeon shoots are the most difficult of any of the shotgun sports. This up here is just shit (and even as a hunter I dont think the condition of these birds is right) but when you get to a real international pigeon shoot it is a lot harder than this. I shoot clay targets competitively and if you think a clay target is easier than a live bird you are mistaken. Clay targets will not suddenly change directions, a live bird will.

the only time my family has ever had to shoot a pigeon is because it was nesting on the roof and it left its young in the nest and they fell to their deaths. so we shot the birds that took over the nest and cleared it out. the next reason it attacked our cat on multiple occassions

The birds are cage-raised and not even in the pigeon population across the US, not that that matters to people with common sense, and these aren't 'redneck kids' doing this. They're doctors, lawyers, business owners, etc. And we can clearly see from your channel page just how much you're working for homeless & sick children.

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm a firearms enthusiast but I don't hunt or fish as a personal choice. Taking a life is taking a life, regardless of what species and should be undertaken with the most respect and dignity one can summon. To be a warrior one must be balanced and fair to all things, and these men obviously aren't.
I don't see the challenge or sport in that. Obviously these guys suck at it too. They ground check half of the birds, and the ringers still have to go out and finish them off. I'm a waterfowl hunter and strongly support our rights to hunt. That being said, this isn't hunting. This is a scummy "sport" (if you can even call it that) practiced by a select few individuals who are mocked by the rest of the community. Comparing these pigeon shooters to other hunters is like comparing Westboro baptist church to all other christian churches. These guys are disgusting and in no way reflect the hunting community as a whole.
From my experience, the way a person treats animals is usually a reflection of their character and morality. I know its a matter of scale... But how is cruelty to a bird any different than kicking a dog? Or hurting a child?
Oh my god, i love birds and i recently lost 4 of my own to my sister thinking it was good idea to keep them in cold areas. But seeing these birds die this way makes me want to treat those people the same way. Whatever they get i hope its 10 times worse then what it is

I will agree that it's a little wrong to shoot pigeons out of a box and not giving them a fair chance, but seriously they are pigeons. I am a hunter and I think it is stupid that all these animal activist are so worried about theses animals we hunt. Most hunter contribute to wildlife management and help species out by hunting them. I think some of these people have more stuff to worry about than hunters, like our country for example.

Ya in no means is that right to shot pigeons out of a box that are captured or farmed raised. Maybe they could do an alternative of capturing and releasing thousands of pigeons in an area, and giving them a few days to rest up and feed. In this way they could hunt them as free flying birds.
@SHARKonlineorg Also doing this some would get away and it actually gives the pigeon a chance. This hopefully would make both parties a little happier. Also help reduce the population of city pigeons, because they are somewhat over populated and can make a mess of city buildings. I just don't want to say that what they are doing is right just that they need to find a different way of doing this sport if you could call it one.

i shoot clays for sport, i dont no why you would waste a life for a sport. if you want to do that go to a trap field and do it competition. this is how they have done it in the older days but now we have clays and traps to throw them. i dont mind hunting if your hunting to eat. personally i dont hunt but i dont see much wrong with it if our going to eat it and they are populated right.

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm a firearms enthusiast but I don't hunt or fish as a personal choice. Taking a life is taking a life, regardless of what species and should be undertaken with the most respect and dignity one can summon. To be a warrior one must be balanced and fair to all things, and these men obviously aren't.
To each their own, but that's my 2 cents.

I don't see the challenge or sport in that. Obviously these guys suck at it too. They ground check half of the birds, and the ringers still have to go out and finish them off. Great shooting, there, Tex. I'm a hunter, and wing shooting is my favorite kind of hunting, but you should always strive for a humane kill, while the bird is still airborne. I don't really have a lot of respect for this.

I'm a waterfowl hunter and strongly support our rights to hunt. That being said, this isn't hunting. This is a scummy "sport" (if you can even call it that) practiced by a select few individuals who are mocked by the rest of the community. Comparing these pigeon shooters to other hunters is like comparing Westboro baptist church to all other christian churches. These guys are disgusting and in no way reflect the hunting community as a whole.

I swear, when I see people hunting animals for sport, it makes me feel sick. It's all about the concept of voice. When a pigeon or a horse gets shot or abused, they don' t have the ability to turn around and say "please don't kill me, I don't want to die".Thats where humans get off easy.
SHARK is the voice for those animals.
People who kill for sport and get kids involved makes me lose nearly all faith in humanity. That all changed when I saw what you guys do. Forget the haters, keep it up.

I will agree that it's a little wrong to shoot pigeons out of a box and not giving them a fair chance, but seriously they are pigeons. I am a hunter and I think it is stupid that all these animal activist are so worried about theses animals we hunt. Most hunter contribute to wildlife management and help species out by hunting them. I think some of these people have more stuff to worry about than hunters, like our country for example.

@SHARKonlineorg NoI agree that it is not hunting. As for me i would never hunt anything in that way. I just don't like the wrap that hunters get because of people like this, which is very few. Ya in no means is that right to shot pigeons out of a box that are captured or farmed raised. Maybe they could do an alternative of capturing and releasing thousands of pigeons in an area, and giving them a few days to rest up and feed. In this way they could hunt them as free flying birds.

Also help reduce the population of city pigeons, because they are somewhat over populated and can make a mess of city buildings. I just don't want to say that what they are doing is right just that they need to find a different way of doing this sport if you could call it one.
