He might want to wait until the starter motor or flywheel stops spinning before trying again to start it. That could chew up the teeth on either the starter motor or the flywheel.
Could be dirty fuel filter,fuel pump diaphragm is busted...etc...Once the fuel pump gets primed enough,it works fine but went you shut off the motor, all the gas returns in the tank...Maybe the float in the carburetor is stuck or the needle is sticky.Good luck...
i can tell you this its just the carburetor. this happens in about every carbureted truck or van. but that looked like a dodge so yeah the carburetor will not work after around 200,000 to 300,000 i have seen that crap a lot at my shop. plus my dodge ram van did that crap to. needs to be rebuit

Why do people put engines in the passenger seat? Being I see this mainly on Chrysler Vans is it because the engine is to big to go in the front?
