Guns Germs and Steel was a good book. It does explain a great deal of history by studying differing levels of domesticatable plants and animals, their caloric intake, and all that results. How else can you explain the Yanonamo's, Inuit's, and Zulu's failure to conquer when Europeans own the globe?
Sounds like the Well Dressed Ape is much better than the Naked Ape the old book by Desmond Morris. It seems like all the ideas from his book have died. I will check out Hannah Holmes, thanks.
