  • To me, one of the twenty best songs EVER. And I mean EVER. And Ron and Russell are among some of the most awesome geniuses of all epochs of rock music. F*ckin' Bravo!!

  • Brilliant to see this on here - used to love these songs when I was 14. Now hearing them 36 years later demonstrates how far Sparks and in particular Todd Rundgren were thinking 'Into The Future' !

  • ;)) KEEP THE FAITH!

  • engrossou a voz depois de velho

  • O..M...G.... Mesmerizing. So so mesmerizing.

  • Sparks, a milestone of the XXth century culture..

  • WOW! And kindred spirits too! I NEVER get to meet any Sparks fans, it is wonderful to know there is a community out there.....rock on!

    Thanx for the post

  • Dcee you are godsent indeed.

  • WOW, amazing!!!!!!!!

  • Terrific rocking ending - the guitars go well with the organ sound. Morrissey did a great version of this during last year's tour too.

  • Hollandia777, like many of Sparks songs, the meaning behind these lyrics is a mystery. However...Ron has said on record that he was inspired to write this tune after seeing the movie A Death in Venice...for whatever thats worth!

  • @sparksfan

Hmmm....maybe ask Jim what it means....not Ron.

  • @hfeinstein Jim who?

  • @sparksfan Maybe ask Jim instead of Ron

  • @hfeinstein H Feinstein. Weren't you in Halfnelson/Sparks for these two songs. Brilliant stuff. Loved it since the 70's.

  • @Scotlanz Yes. Thanks. And as I recall Jim Mankey wrote that song so maybe ask him what it means.

  • Out-effing-standing!!!!!!!

  • If there's any (american) Sparks' fan here - Could U, please, tell me: what's an idea behind their, in my opinion, most mysterious song - "Moon over Kentucky"? Was it 'bout slavery in The Land of Dixie? Many thanX!

  • Holy crap did you hear that?! Here Comes Bob just blew my MIND.

  • Moon Over Kentucky is haunting. A brilliant song and one of my fave by the inimitable Sparks. Rock on, R&R!! (And thanks for posting!)

  • Absolutely freaking mind-blowing! It's great to see them kicking ass with a full band. I would trade my children (wait...I'll keep the one old enough to dust) for a DVD box set of the 21 x 21 concerts. Barring that, a live show in Minneapolis would be appreciated.

  • I love these two songs. can anybody tell me which albums they are on?

  • Hello there

You will find both of these songs on the 1972 Sparks album , "A Woofer in Tweeters clothing"

  • Thank you!

  • Ok no problem , I'm happy you enjoyed it .

    All the best !

  • @MissBunbury I completely agree with your comment

  • @MissBunbury I completely agree your comment; je viens de découvrir qu'à la fin de moon over kentucky, c le public qui chante (et j'aurais fait pareil :-) )

  • Ah, this is too brilliant, two of my favourite everr songs, in one video, LIVE!

And it's beautiful when you watch it it in high quality.

  • I'm a sparks fan from Scotland working in Bulgaria. I couldn't get back to UK for the gigs. The idea of seeing Sparks what they did back in may was a dream. I've been into the Maels since I was 13 and love Exotic Creatures as much as I love Kimono. Anyway, god bless you good people who uploaded this stuff. I thank you

  • Moon Over Kentucky is the best of about ninety-five fantastic Sparks songs. Anyone else detect the Gilbert And Sullivan influence in their style following this album? I commented on that back in '74. Man do I love Sparks.

  • Moon Over Kentucky sounded just like the original!

  • Fantastic !!!!!! any hopes of a complete vid of all conserts ?

  • Timelessly cool! Bless these guys for still being so inspiringly wild, weird, and wonderful after all these years. Had always wondered how this early stuff would sound live. 1000 thanx for posting this swell clip!!!

  • Great fun to see these played live after all these years. Tx for posting!

  • Oh thank you so much for this!!!!

  • I've loved this song since 1973. Thanks so much for taking the time to film and upload. Every night i log on and hope there's new vids from the 21 gigs. Anyone got (No more) Mr Nice Guys?

  • I wish I could be more like Bob, what a sociable guy.

  • For a group encounter I'll hit buses, mobile homes or trains to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!
