To me, one of the twenty best songs EVER. And I mean EVER. And Ron and Russell are among some of the most awesome geniuses of all epochs of rock music. F*ckin' Bravo!!
Brilliant to see this on here - used to love these songs when I was 14. Now hearing them 36 years later demonstrates how far Sparks and in particular Todd Rundgren were thinking 'Into The Future' !
Hollandia777, like many of Sparks songs, the meaning behind these lyrics is a mystery. However...Ron has said on record that he was inspired to write this tune after seeing the movie A Death in Venice...for whatever thats worth!
If there's any (american) Sparks' fan here - Could U, please, tell me: what's an idea behind their, in my opinion, most mysterious song - "Moon over Kentucky"? Was it 'bout slavery in The Land of Dixie? Many thanX!
Absolutely freaking mind-blowing! It's great to see them kicking ass with a full band. I would trade my children (wait...I'll keep the one old enough to dust) for a DVD box set of the 21 x 21 concerts. Barring that, a live show in Minneapolis would be appreciated.
Moon Over Kentucky is without doubt my favorite Sparks song, I wish I'd have been able to make it to this gig. Thank you so much for uploading, even though it made me feel a bit jealous it was worth it :D
@MissBunbury I completely agree your comment; je viens de découvrir qu'à la fin de moon over kentucky, c le public qui chante (et j'aurais fait pareil :-) )
I'm a sparks fan from Scotland working in Bulgaria. I couldn't get back to UK for the gigs. The idea of seeing Sparks what they did back in may was a dream. I've been into the Maels since I was 13 and love Exotic Creatures as much as I love Kimono. Anyway, god bless you good people who uploaded this stuff. I thank you
Moon Over Kentucky is the best of about ninety-five fantastic Sparks songs. Anyone else detect the Gilbert And Sullivan influence in their style following this album? I commented on that back in '74. Man do I love Sparks.
Timelessly cool! Bless these guys for still being so inspiringly wild, weird, and wonderful after all these years. Had always wondered how this early stuff would sound live. 1000 thanx for posting this swell clip!!!
I've loved this song since 1973. Thanks so much for taking the time to film and upload. Every night i log on and hope there's new vids from the 21 gigs. Anyone got (No more) Mr Nice Guys?

Terrific rocking ending - the guitars go well with the organ sound. Morrissey did a great version of this during last year's tour too.
