The tiny runabout - I can't remember seeing this episode in recent memory. I probably saw it as a kid and forgot - that whole segment with the tiny runabout had me laughing. Nice work, GreatLink!
I understand that it is supposed to be "shrunk", but it seems to grow and shrink from scene to scene. However, with all the varying sizes of the Defiant, it's probably the Defiant itself that's changing in size.
Vaccines are to prevent people from getting sick, not to cure those who are sick. Strange how every single filmed and printed media makes this mistake.
yeah I guess, but they'd have to set it to an incredibly small yield. I mean, Photon torpedoes have 1.5 Kg of antimatter in them, and that would've been shrunk to about 1/15 of a gram (if they didn't maintain their mass), so they'd probably have had to set it to 1/10000 of that power (if not less). That's a pretty big waste, why not just use phasers?
Yes, but they're using known laws of physics relating to energy release. Previous Star Trek series have been faithful to reality in this case, and it is supposed to be science-fiction (emphasise science).
As a Star Trek fan, I've been watching all of your Dominion War episodes for the past few weeks now, and I must say that this one must be the funniest episode that I've seen yet. Kept me laughing the entire time!
because they arnt gonna pull out the experienced crew, and put an amateur crew in it. And since the Crew needed time away from the line, they just let them use the ship they are experienced in.
lmao, Star Fleet would own if they could do that en masse. Just transport 50 of those mini-runabouts to an enemy ship, then an hour later, you have a captured enemy vessel =P
Dominion War Part 36: The law of conservation of mass and energy can suck it! D:<
But other than that, it was funny to see the tiny runabout shooting it's mini phasers and mini torps. Made my day. xD
On second note, I wonder why they never implemented this mini-ship idea for otherwise high risk recons.

Why would they develop a vaccine, vaccine's only prevent disease. Its like giving a flu vaccine to someone with the flu.

Lol, if the Jem'Hadar is so supreme fighters, why do they miss all the time :P
But i wonder, Do the breen come from the Alpha Quadrant?
uberjens 1 year ago
@uberjens - Because they are attacking main characters. It isn't possible to hit a main character unless the plot allows it.
Breen are Alphas, the Federation knew about them before finding the wormhole.

it never ceases to amaze me, as to why these modern phase rifles, are so inacurate at short range,
or are these guys just bad shots !!!!!
its the same on every gun battle on every star trek series,
marcusbewley1 2 years ago
Nice, photon torpedo to the chest! They should flown up the Jem Ha'dar's nose or something and then blown up its brain.

What would have happened if that little runabout tried to go to warp inside the ship?
GaiaOnline777 2 years ago
the same thing that happened to a phone poll when a strain of straw blast throught it being forced by the winds of a tornado.

I haven't really seen DS9 for years, but is anyone else disturbed by the comparative sizes of the runabout and the Defiant?

probably so that the viewers would recognize it. and also to save money

we know that Jemhadar are pretty resiliant against phasers (stun setting has no effect on them at all)
so maybe they thought the tiny phasers might not be enough to kill them
BorgHub 2 years ago
Kind of retarded how they fired a photon torpedo at a Jem Hadar soldier. In reality, it would've destroyed the whole ship.
fpsBeaTt 2 years ago
they probably set the torpedos on low yield. enough to kill the jem'hadar but not to cause damage to the engine room

in reality its a tv show actually

Why are they sending a warship on a scientific mission?
volbound1700 2 years ago 2
Because the Runabout is doing the science, not the Defiant.

this mini runabout is the best scene in the entire DS9 series.

Are they frackin Crazy... Shooting weapons... NEAR THE WARP CORE!
animeownage86 3 years ago 5
Why would they pull a combat ship away to do a science mission?
volbound1700 3 years ago 8
because its a very rare subspace phenomenon that might aid in the war effort if they find a way to use it to make ships bigger instead of smaller
BorgHub 3 years ago 2
that makes no sense. Then again it is Rick Berman we're talking about.
