  • it came with the frame.

  • How cool is it that such a great comedy movie has such an epic sounding theme?? ^_^ haha what @CrazyDancingJoe said is absolutely right.

  • Great piece of music. They don't make soundtracks like this anymore.

  • Fuck me im gonna stick this film on right now and buy the CD. Yes....Christmas HAS come early.

The 80's were the golden period of films, music and soundtrack.

  • :55 - 2:10 is my favorite part. The military song is also great

  • Smells like they're cooking a god damn cat over there!

  • @BoosterSilver LMFAO LOL XD

  • This my favorite score from the Dante/Goldsmith collaborations, although all were great.

  • Thank you SO much for putting this up. From :55 to 2:20, this song makes me feel like I could punch God in the nuts and get away with it.

  • @CrazyDancingJoe Totally feel you, that faux western theme is one of the best "hero" themes ever. Who knew a late 80's dark comedy could have such an awesome score?

  • One of my favourite movies all time! Pretty awesome score too.

  • Does anyone know what the song is when ray and art are slowly walking to the house with the close-ups and all about to ring the doorbell for the first time?

  • @tiberiius its from the western "once upon a time in the west"

  • @thunderstick455 Actually, it's from a smaller-known Italian western called "My Name Is Nobody," also by Ennio Morricone.

  • @MikeAM78 I think I know this movie, I may have in a dvd set. I'll look for it. thanks

  • Bruce Dern made this movie.

    Yo Rumsfield!

  • Near the end it sounds like something williams would write. goldsmith will never cease to amaze me.

  • God I miss Jerry Goldsmith so much

  • I love the fact that the guy who wrote the beautiful score to the star trek movies was also the guy who wrote this funny music. God Bless you Jerry Goldsmith wherever you went when you were taken from us.

  • One of, it not my all time fav movies! So underrated.

  • Saftey is my middle name!

  • @mrlemmon His middle name is Lewis!

  • Dont know why but whjenever im not feeling good, unwell or whatever, I just lie down, shut the world out and put this movie on and it makes me feel better.

  • @steviebhoy7 I know right? I'M THE SAME WAY. I respect you.

  • @Toby89195 I cant explain why :) Its just awesome. I love the end credits theme.

  • PIZZA DUDE!!!!!!!!!

  • I love that neighborhood. Funny fillm with a great score by Jerry Goldsmith.

  • I love the melody that starts @ 2:17

  • Thank you for sharing, I have been looking for this for years.

  • I loved this movie. Movies just aren't fun anymore. Sure, there are many funny ones, but the fun is lacking. I saw this in the theatre.

  • Lovely tune. Love since firs time I saw this hilarious movie.

  • god i love this movie !

  • What a movie

  • dark humor at it's best! great movie.

  • Get outta my yard Lameo, hey, hey, get out of my yard!

  • nobody knocks off a old man in my neighborhood and gets away with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that might have been the best movie of my childhood.

and perhaps not only mine :D

  • @rozic Your right, not only yours.

  • MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

  • no one goes in... no one comes out... no deliveries... what d'you suppose they're eating over there?

  • bad sardines lol

  • hahahhahahaha

  • god i love this street

  • YO RUMSFIELD!!

  • thank you so much for posting this, i basically live on metal & techno, but it's these scores that really give me a feeling.

    thanks again.

  • Goldsmith did give a real enhacement to those 80's movies and is work will surely last longer than the movies themselves...

  • "Smells like there cooking a god damn cat over there!"

  • Check out Secret of NIMH score for some fantastic Goldsmith (80's vintage)

  • I love this music so well composed

  • Great theme for an interesting movie. One of Joe Dante's best, it reminds me, even to this day, of a stretched out Twilight Zone episode. And come on, who doesn't love the late, great, Brother Theadoore.

  • I own the Varese Sarabande 25th Anniversary Volume 2 compilation and it has the End Credits from The 'Burbs on there. It's one of the only tracks on that compilation thus far (I've listened through up to halfway of disc 3) that I come back to often, it's just that great. I haven't heard 95% of Goldsmith's entire output but he hasn't let me down yet.

  • There's still a lot of music of his that I need to listen too. He was at his best during the Bronze Age which took place during late 70s through out most of the 80s and early 90s.
