Okay, I'm glad I saw Pacific street but you do not need to keep popping your face up in the video. I try to stay out of my videos except for the beginning and ending. Or have someone else film the video and you can walk around and narrarrate it. Just some tips on making good videos.
I was on the Olympic Peninsula when the October 1989 quake occurred. It broke my heart to see the Pacific Garden Mall straightened from the charming winding street of local artisans to a street of store chains. Some of the best architecture disappeared just like that.
I'd move back, but instead I visit. What I pay for living expences is 15% of what it now costs to live there. I can afford to visit often. Once you move away, finding a good deal for a house or apartment isn't likely.
I was born in Santa Cruz in 1959 and lived there for 30 years. Graduated from Cabrillo College then USCS taking majoring in Environmental Science. It usually felt like I was on vacation. In the morning almost nobody was on the long white beaches or in the redwoods. Really peacefull with soft hippyish qualities.
To answer why one can be homeless there. Temperate climate. When there were homeless Viet Nam Vets there in the 70s, christians would hand out eggs, milk sandwiches by the clock.
hmm... It's interesting to hear a stream of consciousness from a tourist in SC. I guess I forgot what it's like to visit Santa Cruz and not actually live here.
YES! I LIKE Santa Cruz, CA! VERY PRETTY! One step at a time, re: Fred's father. I would PREFER that his father be in Assisted Care living ASAP...Fred is procrastinating...It will ALL work out--SoMEHOW :)
SEE!! I TOLD you that Spring would arrive in Italy--and, it appears that it has! Weather was gorgeous today even in USUALLY non-sunny areas--like San Mateo and San Bruno in the Bay Area (we are there for Fred's father!)
terrible camera work

I was there last year. We went camping up that way and then went on that street on our way home. Are you two doing any better?
