What is wrong with the current Health Care Debates is obviously Republican Political Swiftboating tactics like "Death Panels" and "Obama is going to pull the plug on Granny!"
But it is also coming from the left. The current plan does not include a Public Option, however, more ways to FORCE people to buy overpriced Private Insurance. You will be FORCED to buy health insurance from an insurance exchange with FEW competitors with no incentives to lower costs.
This means that if you cannot afford health insurance, you can be fined up to $3500. They also have nothing to get rid of the BS Insurance companies to do jack up rates and deny people insurance and care!
The ONLY way to get to health care reform is a Public Option, NHS, Universal Health Care, Japanese/Germany/French style Public Health system.
If you like private insurance, then that's fine. But just know that Private Health Insurance is about making sure the CEO gets his 5th Mansion and the company makes profits. They don't care about your health or your needs, they are only about making money!
In the US, you have to buy your own health insurance. You probably will pay $300+ a month and wait A YEAR before your insurance will pay your bill. MOST of the time, the Insurance company will pay only 40% of your bill, charge you a Co-Pay, you have to chose from doctors on their list, or else you get stuck with a bill and they will only cover 20% of your prescriptions
The average prescription is over $100 to thousands, the average hospital bill is $2500 per night, and sometimes you have to wait 40 minutes to get into the ER.
Look at how health insurance companies won't cover birth control, rape screenings, won't cover children, and they use a bunch of charts and statistics in order to decide who gets covered and who doesn't.
wow ironic i was talking to my mate matt from eerie and he was saying that american Heathcare was better but i then showed him what the british Healthcare was like we didnt have a huge discusssion saying which was better we just agreed in england we have alot more on offer than americans do ^^
Let me be honest here. Obama and the bunch of thugs he has brought to office and the liberals have been having wet dreams for years of how if they ever came in power they would change America forever into a socialist country. People are upset and more r everyday upset for one reason, its really very simple. They have taken the time to read what he actually wanted to do.
Just a hint try watching something else besides the state run CNN to actually know really whats going on over here.
Those of us who've lived under genuine socialism know that Obama is nothing like. The only real argument against the Obama health plan I hear from the Americans I've spoken to is that they don't want socialism, but they fail to explain how that would be the result of a changed health plan. The word seems very over-used. I've seen very little CNN recently. Some American friends of mine accused CNN of being in Bush's pocket, so it seems nobody trusts the media, but nobody gives clear answers.
I had to smile at the word "thugs", considering all the violence imposed on the planet under the Bush regime.
I have no personal interest in Obama's health plan as I'm very unlikely to ever use it, but I am curious as to why some Americans are objecting. But the main point of my vlog was to point out that what has recently been said in America about the British health system is totally inaccurate. That includes the rubbish spoken by the English MEP.
My mom lived in Hungry so i know all about living under a socialistic government. As for Cnn being in Bushs pocket..wow that is funny thing I have ever read, whoever told you that for sure has been living under a rock as that couldnt be farther from the truth. All you have to know about Obama is look at who his advisors are and who are is close friends and its very clear to see where he wants the country to go. Youtube is a bad place to discuss such topics but as always I love your vids :}
Actually, Hungary had a communist government which is slightly different to a socialist one, but that's all beside the point I was making in the video.
Yes you are right Paul. All I am saying is people that used to live there and went thru that, had their house taken and had to leave with what only they could carry on their backs can see where america is starting to go down the same road and they dont like it.
Very well said! Unfortunately, certain People are quick to judge other countries when they couldn't possibly know a darn thing about the place. What these people seem to forget is, America doesn't have the greatest health care system in the world either, and I am speaking from experience when I say that.
America has a horrible health care system! And I say that as a person in America. It needs an overhaul, big-time.
It's the rich people trying to convince everyone how bad a national healthcare program would be. The poor and lower middel-class know it would be better for the masses.
ah Matt speak for yourself and dont make it seem like the majority of America feels the way you do about our health care system, because they dont. Matt its not only rich people as u say that are against this, its anyone that has taken the time to find out what was included in the plan, and that number grows daily as people become informed.. Have you read the plan ?
I know that Obama kool aide is good man but really :]
nothing insulting about my comment.. just the truth man, and ur comment was very general and implied that people in the Us actually think that way when in reality only a small percentage do
You make a remark about drinking Kool-Aid and that's not meant to be insulting? I guess if I ignore the Jonestown massacre it would'nt be so, right?
Truth is, your comment about a "small percentage" is as much a generalization as anything else.
Anyway, I don't come to YouTube to debate politics. I left a comment for my friend Paul on his video. If you disagree with the statement, so be it. That's what makes for a diverse world, eh?
Thanks for contributing, Matt. I guess this is more of a touchy subject than I realised. Hope life is going ok for you. Be time to start putting up your snow defences soon ;)

It is a shameful system.
