@XTBounty its windows 3.51, ms released an update that was sent out to developers to program their programs to work properly with the new shell, thus maintaning better compatibility between the two operating systems. the update was called 'newshell' their were 2 versions released if i remember correctly, both would only work on nt3.51

nice trick, but i think the one with explorer is WINDOWS NT 4.0, because in about windows nt it says "Windows NT 4.0".

thats what nt 4.51 with the update is supposed to say, it's a problem it changes a few system files to nt 4.0 files and that forces it to say version 4.0 in the bootloader and in winver, i dunno why but it also will let porgrams that work on nt 4.0 and not on 3.51 work on 3.51 but it still is 3.51
