I will explain some facts passed during that period: Catalans couldn't speak catalan language, his institutions had been disappeared, republican people were killed or in a prison, etc.... Not just the Catalan was forbidden, the languages of other Spanish regions like Galicia, Basque Country... institutions were modificated in all the country and republican people suffered the same violence in the rest of Spain. @elmillor11abel No, in the Basque Country they have three differents "education model" where you can choose between and education just in Basque less the Spanish subject, an education 50%, or an education in Spanish except the Basque signature. So if you have to go Basque Country due to oyur job your children can adapt more easily. In contrast, in Catalonia all the subject are in Catalan except Spanish and English.
