That was sic! I have a R6, and that is awesome that it smoked that viper! Sweet deal! Also I agree with Rpotwar, cars don't watch for riders. I have been riding for a long time and I always watch for riders when I am in my cage/car. But its madness how others don't. If you ride be safe and watch out for one another
@weurRTG In a straight line sure, you're right. But on the track cars have proven to be a little tad faster than the most powerful sport bikes (see 5th gear comparison or sth). BTW dont flame becouse Im a biker and my car has 60 BHP and I dont care about it. Still though, for a car that can beat a bike on a track you could buy ten bikes, and thats why I love motorcycles (same MPG as my car, the insurance is like 3 times lower, but the joy of riding is uncomparable).

The stock Viper is good for mid 12's or high 11's in the 1/4 whereas the 600 cc R6 is capable of high 10's with a good rider.

-exactly right; the R1 wins in acceleration & will blow the Viper away, but once the viper hits 180mph+, it will pass the R1 after a few miles [like a car going 80mph passing a car going 60mph]. you can't deny the Viper's top speed is greater than the R1's.
-you get the performance of a Ferrari/Lamborghini, etc. for approximately 1/25th [sometimes 1/50th] the cost; plus, it's far more of a rush on a bike than in a car, & you usually get more girls - i just don't get it.. i really don't..

@rportwar i read somewhere that the vast majority of bike accidents occur within the first 6 months of owning one's first bike. The accidents often end in death and are often not the bikers fault, someone pulled out in front of them and the biker was too inexperienced on the road to realize that other drivers often can't see them. When someone has the balls to get on a death machine and drive around in traffic where 15 year old girls can be behind the wheel... move the fuck out of their way :P

i got a zf1 a "touring" bike with a down tunded r1 motor lol, its 0-60 is only 0.05 sec slower then an r1 lol, 0-60 in 3 seconds, 0-100mph in 5.93 seconds (i think i would have to check) but yeah, when most cars are getting up to 60mph im already hitting 100mph lol, its funny when people in mustangs and shitty "sports" cars try to take me on at stop lights and shit, and i dust them without even trying =D ohh, and my bike cost 4000 bucks, not 40k =D
@matthias2986 I killed a brand new srt8 challenger and a gto with my 83 nighthawk 650 and it only costed me 1000, with that r1 engine you could kill almost any car out there.
I've got a KTM Duke, with the power limited to 25 kw (beginners license) and I smoke BMW, Audi's and other fast saloon cars, when speeding away at the traffic light. Even with the 25 kw! The power to weight ratio on pretty much any (unlimited) bike quickly reaches that of a Ferrari or Porsche or something. No surprise a bike like a R6 beats a Viper ^^

People who ride know the risks, they do it anyways...we take the necessary precautions but the fact is...BIKES ARE MORE FUN....doesn't matter which one is safer. @octonot I think it can be argued that bikes are more fun until you have been riding for over an hour where they then become an ergonomic pain. I love riding my bikes but after a while they just get really obnoxious to drive. At least in a car it can still be fun and you have the ability to relax at all times. Just for this fact I would say cars can be more fun, imho of course.
I agree with that, they can be a pain. But i have ridden bikes ergonomically designed for comfort and yes they may not be as nice as a car because you can't shift your weight on your seat...they are still pretty comfortable. It is all in preference. I love my car but i view it as a tool to get me places. I view my bike as the thing where i enjoy the time between point A and point B.
@octonot Absolutely, I always get my thrill from winning the race whether it be a car, motorcycle or atv. Lately I have been souping up my 400 2 stroke atv, it's loud as hell but it will destroy damn near anything that's stock. I just can't seem to get enough traction!

@SeriallySpeaking Yeah- there's no doubt the Viper would take the R6 after 150, seeing as how 150 is around (give or take a few mph) the top speed of the R6. But then again- the Viper has 7800 more CCs than the R6 and how often are you going to find a stretch of road where you would WANT to take the speed that high. Unless of course, you live in Western United States or a drag strip.

@DwnNvr In Britain, those first few moments are the best way to tell a short race from a standing start. By the time the car overtakes the bike, all of the people watching the race would have carried on with what they were originally doing :)

I think you meant that you went up two teeth on the REAR and down one on the FRONT. If you did it the way you posted, it wouldn't accelerate better, but you would have a higher top speed.
Even averagely quick bikes will smoke the majority of cars. The real shitter for car drivers is how cheap a comparably quick bike is to their car. You lose all posing power when your 100k executive sports saloon gets left in a dust cloud by somebody's battered commuter bike.

Even the likes of the FZ6, the SV650 and the 650R are capable of beating pretty much, any street legal car out there.
When you ride a 600cc sportbike, you rise to the challenge of tuned DTM cars.
If you have a 1000cc superbike, you can't beat an F1 car, but hell, you can put up a fight.

People who ride know the risks, they do it anyways...we take the necessary precautions but the fact is...BIKES ARE MORE FUN....doesn't matter which one is safer. Same reason why ppl jump out of airplanes and rock climb, because the fact that your risking your life makes it more fun. If you aren't prepared to risk it all are you living..or just surviving??

@octonot I think it can be argued that bikes are more fun until you have been riding for over an hour where they then become an ergonomic pain. I love riding my bikes but after a while they just get really obnoxious to drive. At least in a car it can still be fun and you have the ability to relax at all times. Just for this fact I would say cars can be more fun, imho of course.

I agree with that, they can be a pain. But i have ridden bikes ergonomically designed for comfort and yes they may not be as nice as a car because you can't shift your weight on your seat...they are still pretty comfortable. It is all in preference. I love my car but i view it as a tool to get me places. I view my bike as the thing where i enjoy the time between point A and point B.

@octonot Absolutely, I always get my thrill from winning the race whether it be a car, motorcycle or atv. Lately I have been souping up my 400 2 stroke atv, it's loud as hell but it will destroy damn near anything that's stock. I just can't seem to get enough traction!

It only takes 10k to mod pretty much any car to kill stock bikes. Say, put a blower on that viper and its bye bye bikes.
You can find dozens of videos here of cars beating bikes.
And lets rephrase that statement of yours. If you want straight line speed on a dry road with absolutely no utility or comfort at all, get a bike.
I sold my 1000cc and bought a car that would walk all over the bike anyway.

@SeriallySpeaking Yeah- there's no doubt the Viper would take the R6 after 150, seeing as how 150 is around (give or take a few mph) the top speed of the R6. But then again- the Viper has 7800 more CCs than the R6 and how often are you going to find a stretch of road where you would WANT to take the speed that high. Unless of course, you live in Western United States or a drag strip.

Not even fair for the viper. bikes r on a whole nother level of acceleration. Stock yamaha R1 can do 0-60 in 1.5 sec. cant think of any car especially stock that can match that...

Wow...actually i have a weak under estimated sv650s that I can push 3.7 sec0-60. excuse me for googling R1 0-60 and when 3 things popped up 1.5sec i thought holy **** but maybe its true. Even averagely quick bikes will smoke the majority of cars. The real shitter for car drivers is how cheap a comparably quick bike is to their car. You lose all posing power when your 100k executive sports saloon gets left in a dust cloud by somebody's battered commuter bike.
