  • Amen brother! One thing. Nicea not only changed the way baptism was done, it also changed Matthew 28:19 itself. Most scholars agree, these (Matthew 28:19) were not the actual words of Jesus. This verse was never understood to implicate baptism in a triune name prior to the Council of Nicaea (A.D. 325). The verse most likely originally read:

    "Go and make disciples of all the nations (some add, 'baptizing them') in my name; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."

  • @OneGodApostolic238 Yes, I am aware of that argument as well. But lest the validity or dependability of God's Word be called into question, I simply adress the passage as it appears today.
