I support H.R. 1831: Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011 because if the United States wants to get out of our recession and save our markets, we must produce economic trends, instead of bleeding out the side to China and India. As you can see the United States government has systematically eradicated hemp as an agriculturally viable industry here and abroad. While farming hemp in Nicaragua under the direct involvement of the state department had our research center closed and myself imprisoned.

The fact that before WWII hemp was outlawed, then during WWII hemp again became a legal and encouraged crop because of its beneficial nature is disingenuous and quite hypocritical. Once again, hemp needs to be legalized both in cannabis sativa and the usable crop of cannabis indica. We need a resurgence of cannabis sativa and cannabis indica in this country. Need to save the budget, grow hemp and its correlatives. We can overcome the stigma by showing the US its necessity and value.
