Killing Gerd is an interesting story device. We sorta get to see the story through his eyes instead of Joseph's in the beginning but i assume Joseph is the real main character...

As far as "main characters" go.... Gerd was BORING AS HELL. I'm glad he's gone. Now maybe the plot can get a f**king move on. We've yet to recieve comfirmation that Amalgam blood causes humans to change into one even though we KNOW that's what causes it. I've never seen an anime beat around the bush as much as this one.

Other questions:

1. Who's the horned chica in Joseph's bike? Is she AI or an actual person/Amalgam?

2. Who's the green haired b*tch that's behind this? What's her motive?

Go look at my comments for later eps. These comments are relevant only up to what I've seen thus far. I started liking this anime after I watched episode 8. My critiques are that the series moves extremely slow for these first few eps when it could have cut Gerd out entirely and have very little impact on the overall plot.

I don't judge animes until I've watched the entire thing (for those 12-24 eps ones) or if I've watched far enough into an on going series (Bleach, One Piece, Pokemon, etc).

Well either way, Gerd's "death" (or disapearance by transforming into spirit particles for those who believe he ain't dead) was probably to lead the story to Malek

While it may be true that the pill did more than what getting Amal blood did, I'd still point out that the other living demoniacs(the girlfriend, the manager/coach) didn't come back :|

Really? Through-out the show I've had the immediate thought that Joseph/Blue and XAT are the main protagonists(where-as others, like Gerd and Malek are leading side-chars) - Also, the transition scenes show slow-motion actions of Joseph/Blue, which seems placed to keep your focus on his existance)

I definitely don't think Gerd is gone :P He's our protagonist's project, and the green-haired witchdoctor's prize experiment(assuming he isn't just bait to bring 'Blue' out.)
