Yeah because that's where the 360 version picks back up. All of the extra PC stuff "bridges the gap" between the part at the end of this video, and he part right before the beginning of the first video.

This stuff looks cool, but you can totally tell it's filler. They just spend an entire act hiding from that monster, and nothing major really happend. From what I can tell, the only significant thing that happend was that they explained why the train was out of control in the last act of Gears of War. Concept wise, this act was pretty cool, but it was just drown out and the climax was pretty dull.

Well, I played on Easy so a lot of the excitement of the Brumak fight is lost. It's a lot more epic on harder levels. Also, I skipped almost all of the battles, there is quite a lot of content here. Lastly, it explains how they got to the train. This content bridges a gap in the story that a many people wondered about. In my view, Gears of War 2 is better than Gears 1 anyway, but as far as Gears 1 goes, the definitive version is the PC version.

Yeah I found it a little unfair how Xbox 360 users didn't get this as DLC at first but now it's understandable, considering how much money and time PC users spend trying to upgrade their PCs so they can play this game.

360 owners can't complain about facing a Brumak only on PC now anyway, because in Gears 2, you actually get to ride them. I'm assuming that anyway, because Marcus says at the end of the Gears 2 demo "if we can ride 'em, so can we."

Actually, as the maker of this video, I can tell you that Gears of War is easy to run on PC. It's far from demanding, an average PC can run this game without breaking a sweat. There are many more graphically demanding and far more visually impressive PC games than Gears.

In fact, the best looking game I've ever played recently came out. It's my latest video, in high quality. :-)

Cheers for upping these clips. It's a bit churlish of some XBox users to complain about the extras because if it wasn't for PC gamers supporting Epic and essentially testing their products over the years with Unreal Tournament the XBox wouldn't even have had Gears of War. They'll get the sequel soon anyway and PC's will have to wait 'at least' a year for that, plus I've never heard PC users complain about Half-Life etc ports either. I hope GOW online and UnrealEd grows, mod maps galore for years

I've nothing against XBox users, I just don't understand the precious (world revolves around me and my XBox/Ps3) attitude that some have. XBoxes are great, but just comprehend that PC users pay out the same amount for a single gfx card that they might pay for a whole XBox system. Epic tends to stick to their statements. It would be a nobrainer offering this additional PC content to 360 via DLC, right? But they said they wouldn't, even though it pissed off a hell of a lot of 360 owners. Same with Gears 2 on PC. I would bet on them never releasing Gears 2 on PC. After all, the first one didn't sell that well on PC.

Frankly, Gears 2 is just fine on the 360. PC gamers shouldn't fret about getting it for the 360. Even though I own and play all of the systems (PS3, 360, Wii), I am probably first and foremost a PC gamer. As recent multiplatform games go, I bought Dead Space, Far Cry 2, and Fallout 3 for PC.

Having said that, Gears of War 2 was great fun on the 360. The controls work well and the graphics are the best I have seen on a console EVER (which puts GoW2 right under the Crysis games graphically).

I also wish that they would put all of the new acts in here as well as the multiplayer levels. and if they cant put it on the 360 marketplace as said below me, i hope when gears 2 comes out, they have a seperate disc or something to upload the levels so we can play them. and than include the new multiplayer maps in the second gears. i would like this at the very least from epic. even though im angry, epic is still one of the best game deveopers out there =)

Epic claims it would be impossible. There were little improvements to the Unreal 3 Engine that were used in the PC version of the game. So, they say the new areas wouldn't work on 360 with the new stuff, or something like that. That's strange though because Gears 2 is coming out on 360, and surely that will use the updated engine. Maybe once 360 owners get Gears 2, they can then add the extra stuff for Gears 1 on Marketplace?

I think it also has to do with the fact that the new content was created on an updated version of the Unreal Editor, which explains why it won't be released on the Xbox 360.

It's hard to explain, but to give an example, both Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War for the PC come shipped with the Unreal Editor toolkit. However, because the UT3 version is newer, you can't import or export textures between the two even though it's basically the same program.

According to Epic, this won't happen because the actual engine has changed. Gears of War on PC features all of the new bells and whistles of the updated Unreal Engine 3. The new content was built entirely with this updated engine. Epic says it wouldn't work on 360, but I'm not sure about the technical reasons why.

true but I don't think EPIC is gonna bother adding this as new content to the 360 orginial, because they said that they made the pc version with new contents because people thought the game took a "jump" so they had to explain it. so if they could add it as new content to the 360 version then they would have in the first place.
