@baldingmoose One of the guys in charge of the show didn't like him...I heard it was because he made a lot of OJ jokes and the guy was friends with OJ. So they just fired him.
@Spashaei There was a lot of speculation as to why he got fired. It was probably just the icing on the cake of many different decisions by SNL executives. The story I have heard was because Norm thought O.J. was guilty and used that opinion in his jokes all the time I highly doubt that they would fire one of the funniest men of the show in the past 20 years over some opinion about a celebrity murder case though. There was probably a lot more going on there.
@boothesquirrel well, SNL lost Norm Macdonald. Aside from Will Farrell, I can't think of anyone funny on that show any more. Norm Macdonald was the last breath of a dying franchise if you as me.
Thanks so much for posting!! There are a couple more Kingism gems out there too. I don't remember which episode they were on. "Larry" says "Boz Scaggs was the best musician to have ever lived." & "Sometimes I wonder if giving women the right to vote was a huge mistake." Do you have any idea where to find that video? At any rate, thanks for posting. NBC really screwed Norm, and the videos are hard to find. Nice work!
Hey retards who thumb down because its audio only- you can blame NBC for blacklisting Norm, not the good people trying to find a way to squeak his material in...
I hope someone can find and post the other one of these that he did. instead of mickey blue eyes, he says jumanji. there's a lot of other material too. great stuff.
somebody has to post the whole clip.... the best part of it was his mannerisms... how he moved from camera to camera... i think i only saw it once when it was on repeat on comedy central in the 90's...
i dont even want to listen to this because i dont want it to be ruined when i actually see the whole thing
I suspect the people who make a big deal out of SNL now are just amused by the political stuff - it's ideologically to their liking. But it's not nearly as funny as it was in the past. I'd say it hasn't been very funny for at least 15 years (with some exceptions, of course)
I love Phil Hartman. Best character on the Simpsons was Lionel Hutz. "I rest my case." "You rest your case?!" "Oh I'm sorry, I thought that was just a figure of speech."
@drunkindonuts07 now that I think about it, I can remember one of the reasons he left the show. Loarn Micheals didnt like the jokes that he use to do about OJ. I think it was OJ, but it was someone that Micherals was cool with, and he didnt like it. Probably will never see that dvd, and it sucks.
@Jguthro It wasn't Lorne, Lorne loved Norm, it was Don Ohlmeyer, who ran NBC on the west coast. He was buddies with OJ. But now even that Ohlmeyer's gone, I don't think they'll do a Norm DVD. A lot of executives don't like Norm because A. they don't understand his humor and B. he avoids mainstream comedy because he has no respect for the comics or the marketing.
