Great result Chris and on the audio as well - can't beat a 47 on fine form and with the weight of the train and the A4 had some real weight with which to unleash the power - as you may guess I prefer diesels - the Christmas White Rose did run north today (17/12/11) with the 70013 water boiler
@NapierNimbus Cheers Ian. 47786 was certainly working hard out of the station. Still would've preferred to hear the 3-cylinder kettle up front but 47786 put on a good show. Good news re the White Rose - 3rd time lucky then!
@BrecklandSteam From what I've been hearing over the gen groups there are still issues with 4492. Now sounds like the Christmas White Rose is being cancelled and the ECS going back to Carnforth instead of Southall.
Lovely shots in the dark Chris, especially when 4492 comes under the light of the station. And no windy conditions to deal with! The diesel was certainly working quite a bit on the departure from there. I've being informed also that the broken spring was a rumour and the engine is okay, and will be hauling the southbound leg of Saturdays Christmas White Rose tour.
@HomeMoviePerson Thanks Hayden. Yes it was quite still then, especially compared to the day before. Hmmm don't know if it's true about 4492 but either way I expect there were quite a few disappointed people on the York tour.
Certainly sounded more like a diesel engine tour than steam. DNZ had a troubled December. Shame. Barry

@bkendlerA4 Yes was a bit of a disappointment as I was hoping to catch 4492 accelerating out of the station. Thanks for your comment.

@dj205205 Thanks Richard. Yes it did put a bit of a downer on the tour. It might as well have been a top & tail 47 tour in the end.

I didn't spot the second Class 47 behind the tender. (Smoke covered it in my video) Maybe they ran two just to be safe.
