Warning: Use Windows 7 as it contains a clean-up technology called TRIM. It will make your SSD last longer, plus Windows 7 is fast in general.

hmm, maybe set it so that the time it takes to close unresponsive programs is short..... not really sure, I don't own a SSD, (I wish) but thought I would try and help :-)

You know what, its not an application hang, its the SSD deciding if it wants to shut down or not. There have been some firmware issues.
