President Ikeda's mentor died after World War II , he was jailed and beaten to death because of his views aganst wars and use of nuclear weapons. When I was an active member of SGI (NSA at the time), I never met a person that presented any motive other than that of a bodhisattva...the motives of every SGI member I was fortunate enough to meet and befriend were pure in heart. Are there devious members of SGI? Is it an organization comprised of human beings?....yes. By the way, my SGI friends spent much more money on me than I ever gave...my only financial contributions that I could provide were in the form of two subscriptions.
An SGI leader once flew hundreds of km at her own expense just to see me and encourage me. You could call this an offering to the Buddha. For the same reason, some SGI members make large financial contributions to their national SGI organisations. However I have never in 23 years felt under pressure to make a donation. There is absolutely nothing esoteric about SGI's Buddhism. You can't pay for faith because no one else can faith to you.

SGI does not require money. You can be involved with SGI and never give them a penny. It is a lay organization that has not political affiliations. If political views come through it is from certain individuals, just as certain individuals can lobby for voting a certain way in any religion. SGI stands for compassion and inner transformation.

He was born in Tokyo, but his parents were from Korea before the War. He naturalized into Japanese nationality. As many Korean-Japanese, he has storng connection to North Korea. This SG involved so many crimes, including a famous Japanese movie director's uncertain death.. He was reported that he commited suicide. but there were too many uncertain things left behind his death.. Some poeple say that he was murdered by SG. His next movie supposed to be " Sokka Gakkai".

When I was an active member of SGI (NSA at the time), I never met a person that presented any motive other than that of a bodhisattva...the motives of every SGI member I was fortunate enough to meet and befriend were pure in heart. Are there devious members of SGI? Is it an organization comprised of human beings?....yes. By the way, my SGI friends spent much more money on me than I ever gave...my only financial contributions that I could provide were in the form of two subscriptions.

An SGI leader once flew hundreds of km at her own expense just to see me and encourage me. You could call this an offering to the Buddha. For the same reason, some SGI members make large financial contributions to their national SGI organisations. However I have never in 23 years felt under pressure to make a donation. There is absolutely nothing esoteric about SGI's Buddhism. You can't pay for faith because no one else can faith to you.
You say "everyone knows...", but that's simply not true.

I would think neither scienteology or the catholic church advocate murder or harming others. neither does the SGI. Personally, I prefer to listen to the temple issues with a grain of salt and not automatically label the priesthood as evil.

Today, even on YouTube, some SGI users block or delete criticism. They never seem to comply with free speech in a modern democracy. Also, they demonize perceived enemies, in particular, former members, the priesthood, journalists and academics who are critical of the organization.

SGI certainly is a controversial Buddhist sect with a troubled history and it has been called a "cult." Ikeda, its absolute ruler is a business tycoon and the power behind a Japanese political party called New Komeito. SGI is known for its chanting. Members believe they can chant for almost anything, such as more money, a new car or whatever they want.

Allow me to ask you a question: Have you ever attended an SGI meeting or practiced this Buddhism before? People cannot judge by what they hear or see on the outside. SGI does not require money. You can be involved with SGI and never give them a penny. It is a lay organization that has not political affiliations. If political views come through it is from certain individuals, just as certain individuals can lobby for voting a certain way in any religion. SGI stands for compassion and inner transformation.
