  • how are you getting this good of framerates? i have 8gb of ram, a 3.2ghz 4 core processor, and the same graphics card but i cant even run on high while recording.. the game just isnt playable on high settings while recording. are there certain settings i should turn off/down?

  • Could I play this with intel i5 480m, 8gbddr3, and external amd hd 6850?

  • On metro works fine =)) but on large maps the GPU sucks..

  • I have a Q6600 @ 2.9GHz, would it be worthwhile upgrading from a 9600GT to a 6850? As it is, I struggle to play BF3. I run it at a pretty low resolution (my native res is 1680x1050) and low/medium settings to get an FPS of ~15-35, depending on what's happening obviously.

  • Hey man,

I'm planning to buy this graphics card for my pc.

    i7 950,

    6 gb ddr3 1066 mhz,

(right now it has an AMD Radeon HD5570 1 GB)

What will my fps be at high settings, and what will it be at ultra settings?

    Thx :)

  • the recommendations for this card is a 450 Watts PSU, you should change your PSU soon if you dont want to cry later actually I own OCZ ModXStream 600W, i recommend u a 600w PSU ;), right now u r forcing ur PSU, change it change it change it, or i'll throw an arrow to your knee

  • Wil it run good on these?

    Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 5

    Mobo: ASUS M5A97 Motherboard

    HDD: 500GB 7200rpm Serial ATA-III-6Gb/s HDD

    CPU: MAMD FX-4100 4-Core CPU (3.60GHz - 3.80GHz Turbo)

    RAM: 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-10600 1333MHz

    GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 - 1GB

PSU: 500W PSU (Built into Case)

  • i have a 450w psu its not a good named brand will the 6850 work with it?

  • @roxasfan09 to be safe get a 500W psu

  • Attack ! :P, Graet Grafik.Next week i buy a amd Phenom 4 with A radeon Hd 6850.

  • How much FPS?

  • I was about to buy the 550Ti until I looked the 6950 up on Newegg. Then, I was about to buy the 6950 when I saw the 6850 and saw that the 6950 is only 20% faster for $130 more so I said fuck it and bought this card. Great choice if you ask me.

  • 430w enough for 4 core cpu and hd 6850? dude, you should upgrade your psu.

  • @Rakinroww It's obviously running fine... :P

Corsair is a high quality PSU brand, no need to worry.

  • @GameKingFaiz Can I run this GPU with a Cooler Master Real Power M620 W/700 W Modular Quad-Sli Ready PSU ? :) I´m not braggin´,is just that the PSU is old and I dón´t know if it can handle nowadays GPUs

  • @Rakinroww I've noticed that AMD chips take A LOT less power than Intel.

  • @Rakinroww i have a phanom 965 running at 3.8 and i overclocked my hd6850

  • your cpu bottelnecks your grapish card

  • @mennogamer559 Oh really?

  • @GameKingFaiz jup

  • @mennogamer559

    no it doesnt.

  • @mennogamer559 grapish? haha

  • club radeon hd 6870x2????

  • Im getting a graphics card and I have a quad AMD athlon proccesor and I think 250 wat power unit is there anything else I need??

  • is sapphire a lot better than Club Radeon HD 6850 CoolStream Edition?

  • i have a radeon 6850 with i7 quad core and when i do auto it sets my graphics to high, and i get 40 fps but i get a lot of choppiness is there anything i can do? (i updated drivers and closed backround programs and it dint work)

  • @dddeseve Hm, I don't know why you would be getting choppiness even though you have good specs and 40 fps...

Are you sure you're on the latest drivers? (Ati 11.10)

  • @GameKingFaiz yes im on latest drivers

  • @dddeseve Tried fiddling with the settings?

  • @dddeseve if i want my 6850 to play at something a little more consistant than 40 fps then i just turn off regular AAand put all the setting on medium except for shadows(ultra), effects(ultra), and post AA(high, somethimes medium for maps like caspian boarder) seems to do the trick. ur processor is better than mine(phenom 920@3.2) so im sure that will help with some of your "choppiness"

  • @x6xk1LLx9x thanks for the reply it did give me more frames per second but i still get choppiness even on lowest settings at 60+ frames per second which is really starting to piss me off

  • @dddeseve oddly enough as soon as i replied to ur comment i tried play some bf3 for the first time that day and sudenly had horrible chopyness. wasnt low framerates but it was like some weird hybrid of horrible lag and my graphics card trying to commit suicide.

  • @dddeseve Hey dude,

Just saying a qaud core doesnt mean anything, you didnt really tell us your specs. We need the actuall proccesser you have. No effence, there are a lot of quad core i7s out there. (:

  • @dddeseve Disable MSAA

  • Nothing else to say than: NICE!

    Good (VERY GOOD) computer.

  • So this graphic card is a perfect graphic card for gaming?BF games,COD games all kind of games highest settings and above 30 FPS?Tell me some better graphic cards that can run this game in at least 60 FPS just wanna know.

  • @xKris7x If you want a higher end graphics card, keep in mind that they're going to get much more expensive.

Such as the HD 6990 or GTx 590.

  • @GameKingFaiz Thanks!I'll keep that in mind!

  • What were the FPS like?

  • @S4LSMOKEY I average about 40 fps @ 1920 x 1080.

  • @GameKingFaiz Thanks thats good to know

  • Did you used Fraps for recording?

  • did you overclock ur components bro?

  • @iFLIP07 No, but I have been contemplating it.

  • @GameKingFaiz U know i really know nothing about computers... so you mind telling me what contemplating it? because I want to build my own computer and decided to get 6870 and phenom2 quad x4 955 black... before i even looked at this video... I expected the card I was going to buy to just have a limit of medium settings but I saw this and other ppl's vids and i was thinkin u did something to it that i dont know... would be happy if you teach me what it is you did to run it in HIGH SETTINGS, THX

  • @iFLIP07 Hahaha, look up the word contemplate, it's not something you do to a computer part...

  • @GameKingFaiz now im embarassed... LOL but well thanks for the vid... this gave me more confi to use this card. thanks!~!!

  • IS ATI HD RADEON 6850 1 GB GOOD?

  • The 6850 is more than enough to run BF3 at full settings and should never dip below 30fps with 40 average running a i5-2500k. The 4850? Not so much lol. You'd be lucky to get 18 or 22 fps average.

  • how i run the game

amd phenom ii x4 955 3.2ghz quad core

    4gb ram ddr3 1333mhz

    hd6850 1 gb

    on high how much FPS

  • @AsafIsBack Should be similar to my fps! :D

  • i7 860 @ 3.08GHz

    Radeon HD 6850

    12 Ram

Game runs fine at highest settings.

Don't fret everyone; AMD's and Nvidia's websites are spreading a bunch of lies saying graphics cards and CPUs won't run the game. Just give it a try.

  • @nvanadium Yeah, they just want you to buy their new cards since these aren't "officially supported"

  • Would this be able to run BF3 on a high setting and good fps: phenon ii x6 1065T 2.9 ghz

    8 Gb ram-1333

    Amd Radeon hd 6850\

    ???

  • @DKikas5 i would think so...you got 4 more GB's of RAM than him and you got 2 more cores...whether the game will use those extra cores is beyond me..i havent looked that up...

    short note: Yes

  • Man i got a question will i be ale to play on max settings with ati radeon 6850 , processor amd phenom x4 with 4 gb vengenace corsario with power supply 600 true watts i have a gigabyte 880 udh2h that my motherboard please reply me

  • @spuderito1 It'll depend on what resolution you're playing at and what kinda fps you want to achieve.

  • AMD 955 II X4 Phenom

    and 6850 on 1024x768

I know i have a really low resolution monitor

  • @AsaflsBack Yes, you can get 60 FPS, not steady however, you'll probably get like 48 steady fps. Still looks very smooth, i tried with almost the same specs as yours!

  • you think

    amd955 x4 phenom quad core

    hd6850 1gb

    4gb ram

runs on 1920x1080 on high with 60 fps?

  • @AsafIsBack No way 60 fps, probably 30, maybe even 40

  • @EdEddNEduardo

if i put in 1280X720 on HIGH how it work?

and if i put 1280X720 on ULTRA how it work

  • @AsafIsBack I think 720p on high -> 50-70 fps, on ultra -> idk, 40-60?

  • AMD Phenom II X4 955 4x 3.2GHz 4GB DDR3-RAM PC-1333 AMD HD6850 1024MB

Is this ok for high FPS with High settings in Battlefield 3 ?

  • @MuffinGames You should be good, those look pretty similar to my specs, which were in the description this whole time. :P

  • @GameKingFaiz lol thx for very very fast answer :D

  • @MuffinGames You should get way better phenom whipes athlon's assholes

  • Processor:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

    Motherboard:

    Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 (rev.3.1)

    GC:

    Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 1GB DDR5 GV-R685OC-1GD

    RAM:

    Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (kit 2x 2GB) 1600MHz

Will i run it with high settings,HD(or full HD) and AA? :) or not? thank you

  • WOW with what tool did you record?

i am realy surprised how fluent your video is with your pc.

    i mean i got mostly the same just a X4 955

  • whats ur FPS?

  • Just curious, how would my rig do:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition (3.2GHz)

    MoBo: ASUS M4A88T-V EVO

    Ram: 2 x 4GB Ripjaw ( 8GB )

GPU: Sapphire HD 6850 1GB ( 1x but soon to be in crossfirex )

    PSU: Rosewill Green 630W

Nothing is OC'd as of yet, and don't plan to for a little while. How would the game run on this setup?

  • @oTPazzo I recommend a 750w PSU, everything else is good. Also check if your motherboard is crossfirex compatible.

  • @TheSuperpaolo2 The Asus M4A88T-V EVO does indeed handle crossfirex it's one of the reasons I got it :P Normaly a $100+ board but -$25 in savings right now on newegg. For a single card the 630W should be fine right? I'm planning to go crossfirex in a month or so then for sure will boost PSU. I've not decided if I want to go with a water cool setup or not after grabbing a second GPU but most likely will. so will be a three part upgrade when I'm ready to go to crossfirex

  • @oTPazzo I'm doing the same thing, I'm going to buy a single GPU (6850) then crossfiring it next month. 630w is good for a single card, i'm buying the 750w to be future proof so when i buy the second GPU I don't have to buy another powersupply. I'm not buying a water cooler though, just a good case with good air flow.

  • @TheSuperpaolo2 Yea i use the HAF 912 ( imo best budget case ever made ) Though right now I have 2 extra fans on the top vent and one on side panel. That case has amazing room when you take out the big trays and just use the lower one. The only problem I'm having now is by accident I ordered win7 32 bit from the egg. As I'm doing a fresh rig :S. I'm too impatient to try and return it for a 64 bit copy, so I was doing some research and thinking of using the 32 bit ram patch to unlock full ram

  • There is also a second option as I do use alot of 32 bit programs, I was thinking of just getting 64 bit OEM and dual booting with full 32 bit This way I can utilize both. Any thoughts? Have you read or heard anything about the Win 7 32 bit ram patch?

  • im getting a new pc with intel core i5 2500k 3.3ghz , 8 gb ram and hd 6850 i think i can run this with ultra

  • @GuitarBoy152 depends on resolution i played it on my notebook and it did get 40 fps on low 720P did only saw a little difference between ultra and low...

  • I have same card but with athlone x3 rana 450 runs great I was wondering if your CPU would be a huge difference or the x3 ok just wondering

  • @masmotors The recommended specs do call for at least a quad core. But the min. specs only call for a dual core, so you should be fine, but don't expect to max the graphics.

  • @masmotors i also had a Athlon II X3 450, ut if you can unlock a core on your CPU and it will become a AMD Phenom II X4 B50 a Quad core! do a bit of OC'ing and you'll run this game fine :)

  • I have similar setup, but I have Athlon II 240 which is bottleneck to my hd 6850. anyways, did you use update your GPU driver to catalyst 11.10?

  • @Billydexd Yes, and it helped performance drastically. Before the update I would only get around 20-22 fps in the park, after the update I got around 30-40 fps!

  • @Billydexd About what percentage would the video card work ... cuz I have the same CPU , And I would like to buy one Radeon 6850

  • @Hankextreme Well, I'd say the CPU is the thing that makes me get only around 28-35 fps on medium setting on this game. Also, the game sometimes froze, and my CPU was running on 100% during the game. It's not worth it if your gonna buy this card for this CPU.I did overclock the chip from 2.8Ghz to 3.738Ghz, still gain a bit different. I can't even run on high setting on DX11 on Crysis2 because of my CPU is the bottleneck. I'm looking forward to getting at least Phenom II X4 or Bulldozer.

  • @Billydexd What CPU should I buy to get the most out of the 6850 for example ?

I guess the first step would be to buy a CPU instead of a GPU

  • @Hankextreme It depends on your budget. If you don't have a big budget, the Phenom II X4 955BE($119) will be a great choice, and you don't have to buy a new motherboard. But, if money is not a problem, then go with Intel Core i5 2500k($219), and you have to get a new motherboard. Or, if you're an AMD fan you might want to get the new AMD FX (Bulldozer): AMD FX-8120 ($219.99), and you have to buy a new motherboard with 990FX chipset to throw this CPU in to get a full potential for this chip.

  • @Hankextreme I wanna add some more. If you're going to go for Phenom II X4 955BE, I'd suggest get a new Bulldozer AMD FX-4100(129.99), add $10 more. Because this is a new chip, and it is a good overclocking cpu.

  • @Billydexd I dont think I could afford a CPU for that price..

    I'd stick to Phenom II X4 955-970

  • @Hankextreme Yeah, turned out Bulldozer is not that good. XD

  • @PerfectTemplar You might get a few more fps, but nothing too drastic.

  • @GameKingFaiz wow $150 gpu can play this on high @ 720? I might buy a 6850 then!

  • What resolution do you play at and what settings are you using? What FPS are you averaging and what does min fps fall to?

  • @webhappy Resolution was stated at the beginning of the video - 1280 x 720 (though that's not what I normally play at, I normally play at 1920 x 1080, check out the other vid on my channel).

High settings, like it says in the title.

Well at this res (1280 x 720) I was average I'd say 50-60 fps, min. being 45-50, but that's not for sure, I only played at this res once for this video.

  • @GameKingFaiz

Thanks, looks like I'll be forced to medium (maybe a few options at high) with 6850 and core i5 750 @ 1080p

It looks like the destruction engine is pretty weak in this beta. No walls are falling apart and it just looks so static compared to BC2, where every time a nade or RPG went off, a wall or building would fall apart.

  • @webhappy Not necessarily, when I play at 1080p I average anywhere from 30-50 fps and that's at High too.

And I'm guessing (hoping) that the staticness only holds true for this one map. I really want to try out the Caspian Border map in the beta...

  • Looks like I need a 6850 or better, because on my 4650, this game runs like sludge unless I adjust the video settings down to where my character is legally blind.

  • @GeicoCaveman57 Did you install the preview drivers? Catalyst 11.10?

  • @GeicoCaveman57 Probably not, there hasn't been an automatic update since long before the BF3 beta I'll check it out
