@Camaromandave98 Did I ever say the 3800 is a shitty engine? Way to overreact dude..... I simply stated that a stock 3800 powered Camaro with nothing more than a converter would not do 14.0 @ 97 mph, that's ALL I said. The 3800 is a great motor from what I know. At my local dragstrip a bone stock 200,000 mile GTP with a bad lifter tap ran 15.1 @ 93.5 mph with the driver and my 200 lb self in the car. That got my applause so relax.
14.0 @ 97 LOL that's the lie of the century. No stock V6 Camaro with just a converter goes 14.0 @ 97 mph. With slicks and the 3500 i'd give you a high 14 maybe but certainly not 97 mph, more like 91. Nice try.
I took "original motor" to mean that it was stock. In any case, I got 0-60 in 6.8 and 0-80 in 11.2 starting from right when you hit the gas pedal. Timing my car using the same methods and standards, I get 6.6 and 10.2. That's a whole second faster from 0-80 than your car and my best time is 14.45 @ 95.16, which is why I don't for one second buy 14.0 @ 97. Plus, anyone who has REAL times posts to at least the hundreds place (14.45 as opposed to 14.4) and you also have no videos or proof.
So again, nice try, but don't say that you ran a certain time when in reality you did not and have probably not even been to the drags. 14.0 @ 97 is what you HOPE to run and probably what somebody TOLD you you'd be able to run, but it's not what you DID run. Just take it to the drags and find out, but don't expect more than 15.0 @ 91 mph because that's probably all your going to get, which is pretty good for a V6 Camaro anyway.
@gtdrummerdude i had a 98 camaro with headers full flowmaster exhaust, slp intake, and a tune stock rearend with no stall and i got my fastest time at 15.02 this is not impossible
@Naturalhit The last Camaro I saw at the drags was an auto LS1 with at least exhaust going 98 mph over and over. And that chick's neon yellow/green LT1 stroker 383 runs consistant 105 mph with a cage and loud as hell. I went 105 mph in my daily driver '82 coupe with stock iron heads, quiet exhaust, air conditioning etc. Let's see if a 3800 can run in the 13s in 5500 ft DA like we have right now in AZ. LS1s can't seem to do it so i'm doubting a 6 will do it.
Looks like about 6.5 second 0-60. Nice. :) Your car is quicker than my '97 Camaro 5-speed. My 0-60 is more like 7.5 seconds. I have an SLP CAI and Flowmaster muffler. I have a video of it on my Youtube channel. What mods do you have? Looks like you have a performance gear? Maybe 3.73 or 4.10? You ever ran your car in the 1/4? Looks like it should be comfortably in the 14's @ 95 or so.
People really do need to realize this isn't just any V6....It's a Buick V6 ;)

U know for the money yo could have got a older ls1 or lt1..... just saying.....
Im not jokin about 3.8's because i think we all know what a grand national can do and the 3800 is pretty much just a new style 3.8.
Id say turbo it.

@gtdrummerdude if you go to CV6 website you'll see that there's a number of NA V6 that are in 13 sec. range.

Nice, LT1 & GT killer. :) You could probably even take some LS1's!
KevinCali24 3 years ago
Props to you. My stock 95 z28 went 14.25 @ 99.3. Now we will see what happens when I go with my new magnaflow exhaust CAI and gutted cats.
