This is a problem with the kids, not the games. I'm 16 years old, and I've been playing the Call of Duty franchise (a series of war-based first person shooters) for several years. Let me just say that I've never once wanted to shoot another human being. In fact, I'm quite the pacifist, I wouldn't go to war or even go hunting. This is because I'm a sane, logical person. Any kid my age who would decide to kill someone has something seriously wrong IN THEIR HEAD, not from an outside source.

It's their parents who knowingly or unknowingly raised them in a way that allowed them to take the conclusion that raiding their neighbourhood would be fun. This is a problem with the kids, not the games. I'm 16 years old, and I've been playing the Call of Duty franchise (a series of war-based first person shooters) for several years. Let me just say that I've never once wanted to shoot another human being. In fact, I'm quite the pacifist, I wouldn't go to war or even go hunting. This is because I'm a sane, logical person. Any kid my age who would decide to kill someone has something seriously wrong IN THEIR HEAD, not from an outside source.

In this case i would say that the video game didn't really cause them to do this. I think it was just the mindsets of these teens. Last year i played GTA4 for literally my whole Christmas break. Jezuzfreek, you will know how teenagers act soon enough. Teenagers always have a tendancy to act crazy at times especially if they're overly pressured to keep a certain lifestyle. And you even said it yourself, you got three delinquints going around causing trouble and they got three other kids to join them. Peer pressure was also an involving factor since when you see kids going around, having fun, kicking ass, you might wanna join them especially when they feel unstoppable. Teens are idiots.

@razorath92 I agree with you! I dont care if he believes god or not. Its his belief, but its a FACT that GTA DOESNT cause people to become violent. I had to do a report for school on this topic and all these people saying games MAKE people do shit makes me CRINGE. Im a gamer. and been one since i was little and maybe 7 when playing violent ones, 12 i started playing xboxlive. I never been in a fight, never wanted to kill someone.These statements are BS. 90% teens play? I dont see them killing..

people who commit crimes after playing games like gta, weren't 100% normal in their head before they started playing the game. seriously, i've played a LOT of cruel games, but I would never ever dare to hurt any person, animal or whatsoever. unless someone REALLY deserves a punch in the face for bullying someone or something like that. games don't kill, the person does.

i think it depends on how easily these people are influenced by there surroundings
like my friend who needs to stay away from bad things and bad games becouse he will go with the crowd but i can play these games. im not easly influenced and i have a good grip on reality. so i think it all depends on the people playing the game

YOU IDIOT! Violent videogames aren't for kids, that's why games are labeled with age ratings. Videogames have the bad stigma of being "toys" "for kids only" that's not true.
And even if a kid plays a violent game and somehow mimics it, it's their own fault and their parents fault for being such idiots in raising their kids
