We grew into a society that split things up by "race" and rap became C-rap (think gangsta C-rap) and thus no longer fun, creative, enjoyable.
I grew up with all of it and C-rap is the only thing I don't like. Old school rap is cool but C-rap isn't. Of course, rock is good.

@pumishumi I see you've already gotten a lot of responses about the AJFA comment but I've just gotta tell you this: give it a chance. Or 2. Or 3. I didn't like it at all at first, especially if you're into the more melodic style music. It takes some getting used to but it definitely grows on you. It's definitely in my top 3 Metallica albums. It's poorly produced, almost no bass, but the angst is overflowing. It's pure badass 80s speed metal.
@losermonster well here's how its gone so far: I Started listening to Metallica beacuse of the 80's albums, so I was spending the entire time listening to AJFA and MOP and a little bit of the Black Album. When i finally noticed they had other stuff, i started listening to that. That was a big adjustment for me because 99% of the 80's Metallica is thrash metal. Now i'm hooked on Load and everything after. I should clarify myself on my comment though.

@pumishumi I see you've already gotten a lot of responses about the AJFA comment but I've just gotta tell you this: give it a chance. Or 2. Or 3. I didn't like it at all at first, especially if you're into the more melodic style music. It takes some getting used to but it definitely grows on you. It's definitely in my top 3 Metallica albums. It's poorly produced, almost no bass, but the angst is overflowing. It's pure badass 80s speed metal.

@losermonster well here's how its gone so far: I Started listening to Metallica beacuse of the 80's albums, so I was spending the entire time listening to AJFA and MOP and a little bit of the Black Album. When i finally noticed they had other stuff, i started listening to that. That was a big adjustment for me because 99% of the 80's Metallica is thrash metal. Now i'm hooked on Load and everything after. I should clarify myself on my comment though.

2: 80's

@pumishumi Well can't fault you there. The later stuff gets a lot of undue criticism in my opinion. I thought you meant you'd only heard the new stuff and simply didn't like AJFA so you never gave it a chance. Load is one of their better efforts.

yes cds shudnt be bashed for their cover, but metallica became famous and got million of loyal fans for what they originally made, what they came from, now they move away and its the same as a nice person becoming a bad person, all ppl around will become to be distant from u, load reload and st anger aren't trash, but its not the metallica that i known in the beginning

I really don't know how people can bash this song. This a beautiful song, and is definitely one of my favorites. I love the old shit, but i kinda like that metallica did pretty much one song from every rock catagory including country rock. the only thing they really havent done is pop or rap, and i dont expect james to ever rip his vocal cords out on that stupid shit!

Anybody who is hating on this song needs to chill out. If he did write this song for his mother than he can do it anyway he pleases. Nobody here has the right to think they can decide how he expresses himself to his own mother. People claiming that this song isn't up to their standards as a fan is actually disrespectful. This album kicks ass just like every other one.
