(cont.) Anyway, to make my point. Both belly dance and Bollywood dance are CULTURAL DANCES. When our troupe dances, our purpose is NOT to titillate the audience, but to entertain. Not only are comments such as the first one disrespectful to my dance sisters and to myself, they are also disrespectful to the cultures involved, and are not welcome in this channel.

Of course, this particular dance is NOT belly dance at all, it is Bollywood, with a very few elements of belly dance put in because some of the original moves in this routine were a bit difficult to pull off. Bollywood dance is from India, and is comprised of classical Indian dances, such as Kathak, bharata natyam, and Manipuri. Today's Bollywood dancing has Western influences, and styles such as hip hop, jazz, and pop dance can be seen in Bollywood films

@syedhoq92 I'm not sure how your comment got past my Comment Approval filter, but just this once, I'm going to leave this kind of comment up, at least for awhile. While you really didn't say anything harmful, and I'm sure you meant it as a compliment, this is the kind of attitude my dance brothers and sisters fight against. Belly Dance is first, foremost, and always will be, a FOLK DANCE. It is enjoyed by the peoples of the Middle East, and is used in their culture to express joy.

Very erotic and seductive. I love when middle aged ladies show their fleshy bellies and navels to show that they're still sexy. I wish I could go out out with one of them even though it would be a large age difference. But I love what older ladies would have to offer including their curves.
