@marklevasseur i think it comes with photoscore BUT its a pain in the arse to use and generally makes mistakes so ur better off just writing it in manually
Excellent job! I'm working on a entire album which I'm posting on my channel here at Youtube. Watching this is so inspiring! Great job, love to see other people work with Sibelius!
hey, i like this. though it lacks some unity, like some melody that would hold it all together as a piece. otherwise, very well put for a first time. :)
I enjoy the simplicity of this, and I think you added some really nice touches, like the little runs, and even the half-tone choices of harmonics in the R.H. here and there. It really adds something "special" to it. It reminds me of film/game music playing while a character unburdens him/herself to another of their troubles...
I quite liked it! That strange, unresolved chord at the end was very cool, as well as the semiquaver idea in bars 29-34. You probably could have made even more of that. I thought it needed a larger tessitura, though. You could have had a more climatic point if the right hand went higher.
This sounds like it should be in one of those Miyazaki animated films. Nice work. How did you post the video to Youtube? I have Sibelius 6, but I can't find anything that tells me how to post playback videos.
That was very beatiful and so peaceful, thank you. It really evoked a lot for me, I saw rain; falling from the roof and watching it from the porch. The rain showered down and some water overflowed the gutters and dropped in big drops (the dissonant plops). And the piano sound was so warm in this, it really fit.
If you don't mind me asking, however: I am an amateur Sibelius user too. Is there any way to tell the program to sustain the piano notes? As one would hear when the sustantion pedal of the piano is pressed down. I found a symbol for pedal - but the sound will not change after applying that pedal.
Hey, I wondered if you or anyone else could help me. I'm getting a new mac and Sibelius 6 for my birthday. I already have a trail version of Sib 6 on my current PC, but the piano sound on here sounds different and much, much better and.. real. So is that the Sib 6 Piano sound? Or if not, how do you get that? Thanks.
Hey @nickmeredith002 Yes, that is the piano sound that comes with Sibelius 6. I did a little tweak on the reverb so I came up with that kind of sound. I understand that you are not hearing the real Sibelius sounds on your pc, I think that's because you have the trial version. If you really want to hear how the full retail Sibelius 6 sounds, google Garritan Personal Orchestra. Sibelius uses GPO's sound library.
@nickmeredith002 Nope, you don't need to. The GPO library comes with the Sibelius 6 full retail so you don't have to buy it. Go for it, Sibelius is a good investment I assure you that. ^_^
Hey @taguchi1 I am not really sure but I remember I did a very little tweak on the reverb settings. I didn't use any sound library other than the one that comes with Sibelius 6. If you think your music doesn't have the right sound that you want it to have, changing the reverb settings really helps a lot. BTW, you are a great composer! I just watched your vids. ^_^
The tuplets felt a bit out of place and maybe some more colourful chords would have been good but it's very nice to listen to just not that interesting in my opinion
Sibelius is better!!! I have the 2 and sibelius is very nice!!! I compose a lot and it's simple with sibelius and I can't do some little things with finale.... So... SIBELIUS!!!! :D :D :D
@xxpinkstrawberriexxx I'm so soo0o sorry that it took me too long to reply, but to give you my opinion, Sibelius is way better than Finale. I actually used to love Finale, but after using Sibelius for a few minutes, everything has changed.
use screenflow(there are others and i think this person uses anotherm but screenflow all mac users use and is probably one of the best if not THE best)
Need some more adjustment to the duration, like when it changed T/S, but over all, its perfect, thats what sibelius can do, it can let you express yourself, its very easy to use,
its great! afew chord issues...here and there...Whether there intentional or not theyre not too pleasing to hear :) but other than that its really nice!
This is extremely good, but I believe it would benefit a lot from a sustain pedal :)

Whats that Wood behind the score... My sibelius doesnt have that....

The best thing about Sibelius is that you can compose things that you can't play.

can you scan a music score and get the music played in your computer like smartscore or it will play only the music you have writen ?

It's good, however I think you could use a bit more pedal to sustain the notes, they seem cut off

@EleventhNote Quintuplets, Its a number 5. in this case the five notes take up the time value of an eight note.

Looking at the score though there is no dynamics set? This piece is crying out for some dynamics as well.
