by cannon she glides with her web-wings, not flies. though the animators might take liberties. very much like certain species of spider that make balloons of webbing and get carried by wind, true story. her powers are different from spiderman's, but there are some thematic similarities. some spiders (tarantulas) do have projectile attacks, but they gave her 'bio-electric' venom instead.

No, the psyonic concept started with her. She always had Spider sense. Checkout the Rogue's intro when her and the rest of the evil mutants fight the Avengers. Mystique tried shooting her with a machine gun and she couldn't touch her. Her spider sense protected her. Around 1984. Also, she had the agility thing going before they added it to Spiderman.

My guess is they wanted to have Spider-Man in the first episode to iwarm people up to Spider-Woman. You have to remember back in the 70's Spider-Woman was still a new character in Marvel Comics and wasn't well known to non- comic book readers.

Actually Spidey being in Egypt isn't to far fetched, being that Peter Parker works for a newspaper. They could have wrote that he was sent to Egypt to take photos for a story. Just a thought.

The first replacement was the 'Secret Wars' battle 1985/86 where that spider woman wore the black custom with the white spider before Peter Parker. She's the original Spider woman.

We can tell who grew up in the ninties from who grew up in the eighties by the comments. This cartoon aired on ABC from like 80-82. It basically similar to the Superfriends in characterization and writing. Which seems kind of silly compared to the DC and Marvel animated series of the 90's. But if you like superheroes you would have watched it because that was about as good as it got.
