  • look at the hormone human insulin. its a very complex protein hormone, not a simple steroid hormone that it could have been. why have a hormone that is so expensive with regaurds to manufacture in the terms of ATP when a simple cheap and easy steroid could fill the bill?i believe the answer is regulation. insulin production must be under regulation at multiple levels including not only transcription but even after its already made.

  • @datzfast what in trying to say is insulin hormone must have binding sites upon itself for somthing not yet known.

  • @datzfast i would set up a column of bound insulin , see what binds at different glucose concentrations and elute the little buggers off.
