  • Think of it this way. How else was Batman supposed to save Gordon's son? Batman was trying to save a person, not kill Dent.

  • BEST TWO-FACE EVER.

  • Such a tragic scene in the best possible way. This is my favorite interpretation of two-face. Not a madman who's obsessed with the concept of duality, but a hero who lost everything and was driven to do horrible things, not because he's "evil for the sake of being evil" but because of the fact that a man who did nothing but good had everything taken from him by the evil he spent his life fighting. He doesn't care anymore about right and wrong, only with whats fair.

  • i really really wanted a fight scene

  • also how the fuck could batman get up and tackle harvery without him noticing?

  • @SullyMediaProduction He was kind of distracted by the coin flip. Two-Face's entire existence is based around that coin.

  • @forbiddenphoenix765 batman wasnt that close to two face, you cant get up and run at someone in less then a second, or maybe this is a movie about the flash, and also how does batman catch the kid and catch him self, maybe im watching spiderman, and also I thought batman doesn't kill people, hence him saving the jokers life (who deserved to die) maybe its a punisher film?

  • @SullyMediaProduction he got ninja training of speed, agility, invisibility in "begins". DUH!

  • @dabangginception theres a difference between ninja speed and teleporting

  • So batman kills two face but not joker

    LOL

  • Just a question, how do they get these children to act in horror films, or films with violence and death (like this scence)

  • Harvey: Fair enough

*flips coin, lands on tails, shoots the batman*

    Harvey: My turn

    "Flips coin, lands tails*

    Harvey:... 2 out of 3

  • @raz1d It's called "watch the world burn" by hans zimmer, I think :)

  • was the only reason that the bullet had that much effect on batman because he sacrificed some bullet protection for flexibility at the beginning of the movie or would it have done stunned him for that long anyway? its supposed to be bullet proof

  • THE JOKER IS THE ONE WHO MADE THO-FACE WHAT HE IS.

  • whats the music in this scene anyone know?

  • Great, two face die in this movie, but his actor didn't, and Joker is not dead in this movie, but his actor is.

  • Thats a long ass drop

  • My turn

  • The only thing that could have made this scene better would be if that little boy was instead Barbara Gordon. Then in the future (if they ever brought her into the movies) this could have served as part of her inspiration to become Batgirl. Anyone get what I'm saying? Good idea, no?

  • @INF3darkgreen Good point.

  • its amazing how 15 minutes of eckhart beats a full film of tommy lee jones

  • @TheDrYes see my vdis to elarn herbs like kelp, kale, dandelion, coriander, cayenne, pine, horsetail, maca etC!

  • I sure could go for some Pizza right about now.

  • The coin of Two Face will decide if Two Face will be good or evil

  • The coin of Two Face has two faces but in one side is marked with a X

  • Harvey Dent A.K.A Two Face He was normal until he has burned his face with acid and Harvey was a friend of Batman

  • Can anyone explain to me why Batman and Gordon isn't telling Harvey that the Joker switched the places thus leading it to happen that way?

  • @BreakWatcher uhhhh... remeber what the joker said? "You see Madness as you and I know is just like gravity all it takes is a little push!" you see he tormented a good man who wasnt' strong like batman - it pushed him over the edge - he went ....crazy he was irrational unreasonable and beside himself with grief at loosing rachel - grief turned to

blame on gordon and everything else he believed in -

blame turned to rage and rage was tormented beyond him when the joker showed up at the hospital.

  • This scene is sort of like Air Force One only Gary Oldman is the one pleading not the one holding the gun.

  • In my opinion, Aaron Eckhart made a much better Two-Face than Tommy Lee Jones. Jones' Two-Face in BF didn't do justice to the character. In fact, his performance was too campy. Truth be told, I liked BF when it came out, but later (when I got older) I hated it. In TDK, Eckhart perfectly portrayed Two-Face the way he SHOULD be: a bitter and frightening villain. The only thing I was disappointed by was that after he became Two-Face, he didn't get as much screen time as I had hoped.

  • @Xanatos21

Eckhart was the highlight of this film and not anyone else. Tommy Lee Jones was joke of a Two-Face.

  • @Xanatos21 too late to regret hating BF now. They already got your money.

  • @Xanatos21 i was cuious if he'd become two-face or not since billy dee williams was dent in 89 but wasnt two face

  • "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see your self become the villain" - perfect quote for Two-Face and actually Batman too.

  • love the music playing when harvey is passing judgement

  • shouldnt it be Barbra Gordan...? i never got that...how come Nolan didnt add the potential Bat Girl?

  • @Konganut he had no intention of adding Batgirl in the story. Also, Barbara is an interchangable name between Gordon's wife or daughter (sometimes both) throughout different variations of Batman

  • Notice how his coin landed on heads, that's a tease that he's still alive

  • @kiyoput or how chance turned its back on him despite of his coin toss

  • To anyone who paid attention, theres a pattern to the order in which harvey's coin flips land on "live" or die". That would have raised a llloooot of tension in this scene, because by the point Two-Face got to Gordon's son, the coin would have landed on die.

  • Batmans throat must hurt from that talking.

  • I love the music that plays when Dent passes judgement.

  • "Tell your boy it's going to be alright, Gordon. Lie, like I lied."

"It's going to be alright son."

"Shut up dad, I know you're lying!"

  • If he had half him mouth missing, wouldn't he just be going :

"ung glacknan uu gh gnn sklarch gung gog"?

  • @willyg1965

no because that's how batman talks :D

  • is the best two face

  • ...nice killshot on batman harvey- he's wearing some kinda armor and the fact that he fights guys with guns im guessing it probably is bullet proof, next he goes for a completely suicidal headshot, which'll leave him dead one right in the thinker... i guess worst case batman can't move, police apprehend, identity revealed, batman falls, mobsters get back so in a sense its ok but quick decision ehhh i don't think he had that five point plan figured yet so well not as bad huh.

  • @MrButtloaf yeah it's funny how no one ever goes for the head. They don't think that big shiny shit could take a bullet? Max Shreck in Batman Returns even has a shot at Batman without his mask on, and he still goes for the suit.

  • Loads better than the Batman Forever Two-Face! Fairly on par with the Animated Series Two-Face!

  • When the coin falls is just pure epicness..

  • Sucks they had to kill of Two Face so quickly. He would of been a better villian for the third installment than Bane.

  • @kylemas2005 yeah but I guess they were going for a realistic approach. If he were to live any longer, he'd still die from infections in his face.

  • @ShadowCrowX How does Harvey sleep without an eye lid?!? Is it EVEN possible for him to sleep? 0_0

  • @kylemas2005

hah no way. Two Face as a character SUCKS. His origin is the only thing interesting about him. Bane is THE ONLY Batman villain to actually defeat Batman. Bane is THE ONLY B-man villain to be BOTH his physical and mental superior. Bane is so underrated. He stands tall in Batmans rogue gallery with Joker, Ras, and Scarecrow. Bane is the splitting image of Batman, except Banes life continued to be cruel from his birth. Thats way more interesting than Two Face and yes even Joker

  • @TheDragonBallGamer bane is the most interesting villian if they can get him right

  • *Potential scene if Batman didn't tackle Two-Face*

    Two-Face: Lie. Like I lied.

Gordon: It's going to be alright son.

*Two-Face flips coin, it lands on heads.*

    Gordon: ...

    Two-Face: Well, this is awkward...

  • @TyRayDew5 both sides are heads.

  • @TyRayDew5 That's funny.

But you do realize Dent's coin is heads on both sides?

  • @TheJake0fTrades

I do realise it... do you?!?

  • @TheJake0fTrades Heads and tails are represented by burnt side and nonburnt side

  • @217Legendary I understand that the burnt and non-burnt side serve the purpose of heads and tails respectively, but the coin is technically still heads on both sides.

  • many ppl say batman shouldn't had tackled two face, but he should. the coin actually landed on tails then bounced onto heads thanks to the wooden floor. if batman did not tackle him, the coin would've landed on tails on two face's hand.

  • @slaidification

That's a flawed logic. In the movie, the coin initially impacted upside tails, but bounced and ultimately landed on heads. The point of impact is the floor (static, hard, flat surface).Had batman not tackled him, the impact point would've been harvey's hand (mobile,soft,elastic/bumped surface).Seeing as how the destination/impact points and external factors are different you won't really determine the side on which side the coin would've landed, without precise calculations.

  • whats the soundtrack in this scene?

  • @Tayub16

dark knight ost 13 Watch The World Burn

  • Look, it's the kid from Dolphin Tale!

  • No disrespect to ledger but I don't think he stole the show not for me anyways. There was a lot going on in the movie but I don't think Batman was ever too overshadowed. I really enjoyed Eckhart's performance too.

  • As much as I enjoyed The Dark Knight, two face could have carried the movie as the main villain just as well as the joker. His whole ideology that only chance could create fairness/justice was just so interesting and unique.

  • greatest batman movie eva. hands dwn, but we till dark knight rises 1st

  • I really think Two-face was underestimated in this movie, Joker stole the show completely but when I watched it a second time I really came to apreciate Two-face's character. He has an element of madness the joker lacked, rage, righteous rage.

  • it ironic that the coin landed on its good side so basically batman killed harvey for nothing

  • Great film - a fitting way to forget the awful Arnie version. But I always hated Harvey's new face - he is so badly burned he would be dead and his face wouldn't fucking move. Doesn't spoil the movie, but lessened the fear factor of two face - apparently the original was only slightly burned, but test audiences found it too scary, so Nolan turned it up to eleven to make it comical.

  • @LiberalIntervention Dude you musn't forget that though this is realistic its still a comic book film. Would you rather have the shitty Tommy lee jones Two Face? His burnt face is must more shocking than stupid acid

  • Heath Ledger stole the show

    fuck bale and eckhart

  • this is where they kill off my favorite character...again

  • @BloodyReaper1000 but he's gonna get mentioned in the next one at least :).

  • @Regenmacher175 but hes still going to be dead

  • 2:05 batman was not as graceful as he was on part one batman begins lol

  • Im not gay, but the joker looked sexy in this movie.

  • Two face: Then why was it me, who was the only one that lost everything?!

Batman: ::trying to to choke up:: ..... It wasn't.

So much emotion in that scene

  • what a waste of a good villain! Two face is a classic and great villain. Im sad that he died but i guess it makes since in the real world.

  • @foodbug Nolan didn't make these movies just to feature cool villains. He's trying to tell a larger story.

  • @truecinema Batman itself IS a large story. Theres is no end to his adventure.

  • @foodbug Why would any man want to be Batman forever? And how are his efforts to rid Gotham of crime an adventure?

  • @truecinema The mantel of the Bat is a honor and the he knows the worlds needs a Batman. He made his sacrifice to preserve hope and happiness in the city. When I meant adventure, i was talking about his further encounter with future partnership like robin, batgirl, the justice league. Life is an adventure. Its just a matter of perspective. To Bruce, being Batman is a responsibility, not an adventure. But being a hero is an adventure. Batman is not a hero, hes more than that.

  • @foodbug Well, I hope you realize that it takes a limited amount of time for a city to be cleaned up of crime, so once Gotham is restored, Bruce won't need to be Batman anymore. That's the primary goal of Nolan's Batman story: restoring Gotham to what it was when Bruce's parents were alive.

  • @truecinema yah, Your logic is correct. But the sad truth is, you cant stop crime.

  • @foodbug Not crime in general. But you CAN stop organized crime, which is what Bruce wanted to stop all along (Falcone, Maroni, Gambol, Lau, Chechen, etc.).

  • @truecinema Right.

  • @foodbug Once they're out of the way, the authorities can regain control of the city.

  • @foodbug uuuhmmm yes there is because if one director does not end his own interpretation a lesser director would not be able to make other films of the same quality. Sorry to say it but Nolan is spot-on with his decision to end the series because in the real world there's always one obstacle that will break you. it just happens that for batman it's bane. Bruce wayne is forced to be batman at the end of this film and believe me, he does not view it as an adventure but a burden.

  • @Regenmacher175 No dont get me wrong, I know Bruce is forced to be Batman. Its a necessity in the world. Like I said, the worlds needs a batman, it always will.

  • looks exactly like the one from Arkham City

  • I don't see why people complain about Batman's voice in these films, it sounds very intimidating which is probably what they were going for, considering that Batman is suppose to make the criminals frightened by him.

  • this movie is a masterpiece. nolan made batman cool again. not like that ridiculous batman forever or batman and robin shit...

  • batman mask is horrible

  • @HygaijeN68 really ? i love it

  • @90mv i only mean on this movie.

  • I feel like Batman could have just thrown a batarang at Dent, or failing that, just used his grapple gun instead of falling at the end lol.

  • Gordon- Please don't punish the boy, please punish me.

    Harvey/Two-Face- I'm about to

  • did Harvey honestly think he could kill Batman by shooting him once in his bullet proof outfit, a bullet proof outfit so expensive even the military couldn't afford it?!

  • as much as people praise Ledger's Joker, Eckhart's Two-Face was just as a compelling character. Joker may be hilarious and psychotic, but Two-Face had a reasonable character arc and had so many obligations he couldn't fulfill due to personal turmoil.

  • @ShadowCrowX I agree completely

  • @ShadowCrowX Screw that, everybody in the movie was AMAZING!

  • @ShadowCrowX Ledgers joker only gets more praise because Ledger died.Yes granted he played an amazing joker! Eckharts two face was just as amazing.

But all in all Batmans voice deserves the most praise hahah

  • @ShadowCrowX

Aaron was the best actor. he really was the best of them.

  • Batman should try out for a death metal band.

  • 1:15 Gordon's son's whimpers sounds like the soundeffect used for the soundtrack - A little push' etc

  • When Batman blinks his eyelids are black.... every time he fights crime does he have to paint them lol

  • OH MAN!"! HAHHAHAHAAAA! I can't stop laughing!

WHy,why would they ruin the movie with someone pulling such a retarded voice for batman

  • Joel Shoe-maker wishes he could make a Batman movie like this.

  • Love the "oh" from Gordon when Batman is shot.

  • by targetting Gordon's family Two-face interfered with their fate. he's such a hypocrite, literally two-faced, which makes you wonder whether there ever was a genuine good side to him in the first place. it looks like that to batman and Gordon because they don't know better but we can NEVER know. We only know that he's pissed off at the world, which is something batman avoided because of his choice, not chance. Some things are arbitrary, and some are predetermined but nothing is JUST either one.

  • I love how the coin dropped on its clean side when batman tackled harvey.

  • It's about what's FAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRR.

  • I still think Richard Moll is the best Two-Face

  • Gary oldman's acting in this scene is so powerfull

  • @jameskaye12 so powerful that he's drooling.

  • THE STUPID MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD

  • @unknown4ever101 : Still gives me chills every time I watch it

  • This scene was amazing. i remember the first time I saw the movie. it gave me chills.

  • "Please don't punish the boy, Harvey, punish me."

    "I'm about to."

    That line gives me chills.

  • @JordonW93 His face expression at 0:53 chilled me. He flexed his eyebrows up, showing more of that other face. >__<

  • I like the song a lot more with this scene

  • 1:50 "uurrngg!" batman outta nowhere!

  • I expected him to the shoot the kid when I first saw this.

  • Epic Mustache

  • thank god batman wears a vest or that would have been his undoing.

  • The Joker was great... but I wanted more Two Face. I understand though... he could have overstayed his welcome. Still, this scene proves that Two Face was on par with Joker as the villain in this film.

  • @WorrMonger

two-face wasn't really depicted as a villain, but more of a fallen hero.

  • @WorrMonger He was really good, but no way was he on par with the Joker! Possibly the greatest villain in cinema history.

  • i would like to have someone explain to me why Nolan's masterpiece is critiscized by the few who call it mediocre. i mean, what do you have against Nolan's direction. thanks to him, the franchise is no longer considered a mere joke amongst movie critics!

  • @yurtubsuks The people who do not enjoy these movies, they're not bad people, they just have different taste. they (usually) just want explosions, sex and drugs in their movies. chris nolan is a man who believes that there are people out there who want to watch movies that make them think. I think that because we think in these movies, it creates the mood that anything can happen. if you establish it well enough, it makes the immersion a lot better. Plus! it adds a lot of replay value

  • @yurtubsuks it's not the perfect Batman, but it's a giant 180 turn from the shitballs that came out in the late 90's. Whereas Forever and B&R were marketing ploys to sell toys, this one was a philsophical and deep character introspection. Ever so serious like a crime drama but it was a much needed turn around for the Batman franchise.

  • @yurtubsuks It's because of Bale and the extras. Bale is alright as Wayne, with the jerk persona but you can't really believe as a watcher that he'd be Batman and its only codified with his terrible voice. And then there's no work on the extras which can easily be seen with Gambols wooden acting, the women are stiff and it tires to hard to overanalyze everything instead of just letting people have their own ideas.

Not to mention everything is so slow-paced

  • @yurtubsuks Now contrast that with Tim Burton's better paced direction, Sam Hamm and Daniel Water's fantastic writing in women, great work with extras such as Alexander Knox or The Ice Princess, and letting why Bruce Wayne act the way he does speak for itself by the actions rather than overdoing it. What needs to be said is and quickly done, what doesn't is implied and lets the audience decide more

Nolan just needs to think a little less and feel a little more

  • @Warriorcats64

Also you overrate the fact that Bob Kane was involved with Burtons films.

Even with his involvement how come many still complain about the unfaithfulness of those films?

    Joker being Waynes killers

    Batman killing

Penquin being deformed. Kane was also involved with the Schumacher films

Faithfulness is not a indicator of quality, if so then what about Dini's Freeze

Bob Kane didn't have any involvement with that, yet Dini made him a better character.

  • @alexh4319

Because some people liked the campy sixties series more,or wished the whole thing slowed down more, others are simply haters

That adds more depth to the relationship between Batman and Joker, and no casual fan would know of Joe Chill anyway

Batman killed in the original comics

Penguin is combo with Killer Croc, besides I never said Returns was faithful only the '89 film

  • @yurtubsuks FInally Burton started it,he made the dark direction even credible. It's a greater triumph to do the impossible than it is to ressurrect

I don't hate Nolan,I love his work on Commissioner Gordon,Bruce Wayne, the villains, and fitting them to the real world. But sometimes he goes too far with the themes and "realism" and forgets the emotion.

Plus he didn't have Bob Kane as a consultant like Burton did,so he couldn't get it quite as faithful, that upsets purists

  • @Warriorcats64

That's all your opinion, Nolan emotionally captured me and many others by putting Bat's in a real world, that many could relate to. Burton films were more reflecting of the golden age Batman while Nolan's reflects modern age Batman. And Bob Kane didn't wholly create Batman, it was Bill Finger.

Also realistic Batman has been done in the the comics, look at Year One.

And the Burton films were no more faithful to Batman, than Nolan's.

  • @alexh4319 Look he(yurtubsuks) wanted explanations as to why some people dare not worship Dark Knight as the gospel,so I gave him some reasons. I'll admit its my opinion, however it's fairly objective to say Nolan's films are slower-paced,which some people like others like me don't.

Burton's are faster paced which can leave some viewers wondering where the development is,and others glad some things are left for the audience to decide.

  • @yurtubsuks The same reason Star Wars, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Speilberg movies, Tarantino movies, The Godfather, Kubrick movies, Robert DeNiro flicks or virtually any other movie has "haters". Because some people like to dislike what is considered good quality or a masterpiece. Its a teen angst/rebellious/immaturity thing. Its nauseating. They will even try really really hard to find "reasons" the movie "sucked" haha

  • @yurtubsuks it was bad because it needed more explosions!

  • @yurtubsuks Two Face was not played well in this movie. Aaron Eckhart did a fabulous job..but once he was two face they didn't play witht he split personalities at all.

  • @brivanas because it wasn't meant to show split personality. it was meant to be Harvey dent finally losing hope, the one thing he gave to the city, and be consumed by anger. i thought this scene proves how well he was played tbh.

  • @yurtubsuks WHO DARE criticize Nolan's masterpiece?

  • @yurtubsuks

Its because a lot of people still want to justify Avatar being better, despite the latter having no story XD

  • One awesome scene.

  • Intense!
