I think this time with FXX was michael schumacher to drive, he was the guest in that episode and during the drive you can see that used slightly different line than stig in other episodes. There are very few FXXs in the world, one is the schumy one...maybe he went and drive his car!

Its not fastest time of the Stig. 0.59.0 is fastest lap ever of the Stig with Renault F1 car. But some say the REAL Stig wasn't driving it. The unofficial information is that Heikki Kovalainen was driving the Renault.

In a later episode of Top Gear James, Hammond, and Jeremy found out that the FXX that did the lap had RACING SLICKS on (which is not allowed on the power Lap times) so Jeremy took the FXX off of the list therefore the Gumpert Apollo S is still the fastest...yeah......

Hate to burst your bubble, but this wasn't the quickest lap ever round the top gear track. The Caparo T1 did it in 1:10.6, the Aston Martin DBR9 did it in 1:08 and a Renault F1 car did it in 59 seconds. Of course, none of them were allowed on the board due to them not being road legal. But the week after this was done, the FXX's time was taken off, as it's on slick tyres.
