  • how do you guys paint your hands on a mg gundam

  • I understand how he airbrushes but how does he panel line? Is that thinner and black paint? Any input out there?

  • The technique used usually is to make a wash with lighter fluid and a little bit of paint. Some claer coat the surface first, then dab a small amount of paint into the seam the paint will naturally run into line to fill it, then spray clear coat to seal everything.

  • but wouldnt that damage the paint already on there? what I'm asking is, what is used for panel lines with paint already on the model?

  • If you clear coat the paint before applying panel lines it shouldn't bother the paint underneath. The other method is to use a fine tip marker in the 0.3 or 0.1 mm range, if you make mistake, use a little rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. This the method I use and it doesn't hurt the paint at all.

  • I prefer to airbrush lines black, and then intrude on it a bit with the body color. you can also mix super thin black paint and let it bleed into the lines..

You can see my technique in a photo if you want, PM me

  • Thanks All!
