Great question. There are a couple different airlocks out there. One has a bit more of a taper on the end allowing it to fit into the cap a little further. The other airlock just fits on top of the cap and it sounds like the one you have. The latter will still on top if you give it a gentle push. And yes, you can make it fit a little easier if you wish by widening the hole on the cap a little more. Happy Brewing!
question - the airlock that came with kit I bought won't fit properly in the growler's cap. The video shows the airlock's long part going almost the entire length into the hole. The airlock that came with my kit however doesn't fit through the cap's hole properly.. only a small part of the tip goes into the hole. Maybe it's meant to be like that? Anything I can do aside from making the hole bigger? The odd part is that the tubing did fit properly. The air lock seems to be too large?
Ah! Just saw the domain on the intro, it _is_ from the same store I got my kit. Great stuff guys! Can't wait for other vids to make it here. Do you guys have any more vids of the brewing process coming up? And if so, is there a schedule? I was going to try brewing tomorrow but maybe I should wait to check out the vids.
