The indirect democracy model is not working today anymore because people want to have a greater say in policymaking, which they cannot do at the moment because big money is paying politicians to ignore them. Today, people have no clue how to protest peacefully, or intelligently at that. What happened back then took courage, and guts. They fought for something that NEEDED to change.
@megarational The actions of the 60's and 70's didnt change over night, everything had come to a point were even political leaders and congress wanted the change to happen themselves after years of protest. FDR wanted change during his time as well for civil rights. There comes change from within as well, not based on the sole preference of what the citizens want entirely. Change happens together, not alone. Together with the governments approval, win their approval, that is what one should do.

@megarational I agree that it will happen to an extent, reforms will be made to help people pay their bills, and help them keep their houses. People who are in a financial crisis, get temporary relief that will only last so long, they will fall again to the downturn. Of course, the rich will not be affected in the way many want. This reform if it were to take place, will not be paid from the pockets of the rich. It solves nothing for those seeking to take from the rich. They will remain as is.

@megarational I know this, and the primary problem of it all is not only limited to monetary value. Water for example, is becoming more and more scarce, resources are being diminished, over population, housing. We dont need an expert to tell anyone what is going on with over population, people can see it. Money, there is not enough, period. Thomas Jefferson could never imagine the world being as it is now. He only hoped for the best, and gave that hope unto the people who will continue to live in this country. Philosophy is losing ground, since the intended proportions no longer apply.
But the movement will only get stronger as the inequality of wealth distribution & rich poor gap keeps increasing - and it will, the way things are going.

Those classes which teens do not care about, but lack to see the importance. Because the teens are unaware of them, they are being taken away from under their noses. Many people will take advantage of your protesting to gain power, even when they do not plan to share it with any of you. @megarational The actions of the 60's and 70's didnt change over night, everything had come to a point were even political leaders and congress wanted the change to happen themselves after years of protest. FDR wanted change during his time as well for civil rights. There comes change from within as well, not based on the sole preference of what the citizens want entirely. Change happens together, not alone. Together with the governments approval, win their approval, that is what one should do.

People who are in a financial crisis, get temporary relief that will only last so long, they will fall again to the downturn. Of course, the rich will not be affected in the way many want. This reform if it were to take place, will not be paid from the pockets of the rich. It solves nothing for those seeking to take from the rich. They will remain as is.

Water for example, is becoming more and more scarce, resources are being diminished, over population, housing. We dont need an expert to tell anyone what is going on with over population, people can see it. Money, there is not enough, period. Money is only one affect of the many it causes. The importance of the rich is far less than the importance of people knowing the danger of reproducing at such a radical rate. This leads into other issues, that of which will not be helpful in the argument to support the distribution of wealth.

I am tired of watching these jackasses waste my hard earned tax dollars baby sitting a bunch of adolescent adults shitting and pissing all over public parks and streets. It's my tax dollas that is subsidizing this nonsense . It's time for the Police Departments in this country to grow a pair and kick these bums out! Go Home! Get a Job! and Start Paying taxes like the rest of us! Washington is the problem!
