  • I used distilled water,E spring,Amway. No chlorine and my plantsstand up straight, not lying down as if its very lazy

  • Ive had 1 for 4 years on nowt but tap water so there strong not delacate also if they evolved to have mouths then obviously they've evolved to use different water!

  • can i use aquafina bottled water??????

  • Ive had my fly trap for 30 days now and I have given it tap water every day and it is very healthy. Australian tap water has chlorine, fluoride and many other chemicals in it. I dont have it soaking in water the same way he does although I plan on putting it in a bucket of water for a day or 2 every few months. I dont think you need to be as worried as he makes out about how you water it

  • what about snow?!

  • In Norway we can use tap water!! :DD

  • What about piss or even diarrhea?

  • purified water what i use is cheap purified water from the store

  • can i use water from the hose

  • Can I used filtered water

  • uhhhh im in washington and i water it in the morning at 7:00 after school at 3:00 and night at like 7 or 8 o clock is that ok?

  • i just buy a venus flytrap

i've use a tap water from the spraying bottle before watch this vdo.

But if there is not enough rain water, what types of water were allowed to use for the flytrap

  • exactly how much water should I use, like 1/2 a cup a day? I've already lost two sets of plants from overwatering......

  • can i use piss?

  • @Damanik3 I don't think that would be very healthy :) lol

  • This is bullshit my fly trap is completely healthy and has thrived for over a year and a half now and i have only used tap water

  • well moist? you call that english?

  • horrible quality

  • what do you mean distilled water, if anybody knows please reply

  • @TheEpiphone28

Water that is just pure water (so water that lacks all the minerals that can be found in tap water).

  • @TheEpiphone28 distilled water has manually had impurities removed through distillation, or boiling and catching the steam for us common folk :-). i have droseras (sundews) and i pick up a gallon at walgreens every 6 months or so for like $1.19. sweet

  • can i use deep well water?

  • I guess some venus fly traps are fragile and some are more hardy because the way they are bred? The way they are genetically engineered? Who knows, venus fly trap labels don't usually tell you that stuff.

  • I water them with overnight water...

  • 1 question, can I use drinking water??

  • @yizak2 Nope,if you do thath they will die...

  • @yizak2 when i buy them they told me i can :)

  • @yizak2 Yes, distilled, drinking water, RO water (reverse osmosis), rain water.

  • Depends on the kind of water. If you use bottled water you CANT use it on your plant because it has minerals that you need but that the plant doesnt, so, if you give it bottled water, it will die. Tap water can be used but you have to leave it 48 hours ( 2 Days ) on a pot so the chlore evaporates.

  • @yizak2 NO! your plant will die alot quicker you'll need distilled water you can get it from wal-mart for dirt cheap =P

  • very poor quality

  • i dont think the VFT is as delicate as they make them out to be ive had mine for 2 years have forgot to water it for weeks and just giving it normal tap water when i seen it wilting and its came bk just let it eat the flys it catches when i leave the window open and it does just fine only thing i would do is prune the flower stem when i see the stem come up i notice they put all there energy into making the flower and the traps go black so when i prune the flower stem i have green traps.

  • @lorrie79 thats bad english, and did you leave the tap water open for 1 to 2 days? and whatever flytrap you have is friggin immortal, i mean a week without water? been giving it tap water? thats one goddamn amazing flytrap you got there...

  • @codegeassownage listen mr expert u tell me why the thing is still alive and very healthy after 2 and a half years of given it tap water must be amazing flytrap or maybe there not that delicate and i would have no problem putting a video up of me giving it tap water.

  • @lorrie79 idk why are you asking me that question? how would i know why your flytrap isnt delicate like the other thousands?

  • @lorrie79 post it up

  • @lorrie79 I been feeding my plant tap water too and its fine

  • where can i get the water from

please give me a few ideas

    thanks

  • @rugbyhockeyrishi any water will do just have it sit in a cup for a few days and wala its good

  • @rugbyhockeyrishi u can get the water from a motor store its car battery water but i have gave my trap normal tap water for the last year coz i got pissed of goin the motor shop and it doin fine hasn't died on me. but im in Ireland and we have good water so prob depends on where u live and what the water is like.

  • @rugbyhockeyrishi from a motor store just ask for car battery water its the only place i found the distilled water. just cut the flower of when u see it grow coz thats the only thing i found that weakens the plant.

  • PLEASE, I NEED SOMEONE WHO IS WISE ABOUT VFTS' Should i keep the water level that is 1,5 cm in the pot?

  • i want 1 and put it every where in my house so no insects is coming to my house but i have to water them :)

  • yes you can

  • can i feed mine crickets?

  • where do you get a venus flytrap from?cause i wanna get one :3

  • @aval1998

Barnes & Nobles. It comes with 2 seeds in one box.

  • can i grow this plant indoors?how do i know when to put in biger pot?can i feed it roaches?

  • If you use that big bowl, do you have to feed them manually or can they still attract enough insects for a proper diet?

  • That bowl is so badass.

  • is irragation okay?

  • how often should I water my venus fly trap ?

  • i read you should keep the pot sitting in a little bit of water at all times. let it soak it up as it needs it.

I'm no expert and have only been growing fly traps for about a week. Hope my advice is valid and helps.

  • that doesnt count in winter though

  • keep the soil moist

  • What have you done Wes...

Humidity -- NOOO!!. I live in SoCal, and grow them OUTSIDE all year round. I have no idea where all this humidity nonsense is coming from, if you want real advice, visit Sarracenia Northwest.

  • I live in the NorthWest US ,so if I put plastic wrap with holes poked in it on top of a fish bowl, the fly traps would not be ok?

  • Ummmm...well I grow mine in pots outside year round, I dont think it would hurt it. The traps might be a little floppy though....
