All foreigners are not necessarily "illegal". That is a blatant strawman argument that gets tossed around in every one of these immigration debates. The issue is with circumventing the law. I don't understand what people have against making people follow proper procedure to enter the country?

@Locke99GS Because the problem isn't really that people are coming to America illegally. The problem is that Americans are scared of foreigners and don't understand the history of immigration in America. Most people who are against immigration aren't simply against immigrants not following procedure, they're against immigrants. Also it's far too difficult, lengthy, and expensive to legally immigrate. The process needs to be cleaned up.

@graey42 I'll disagree that Americans are "scared of foreigners and don't understand the history of immigration in America", and while for some "they're against immigrants" may be be true, de-regulating immigration is and childish idea. I'll concur that the process may need to be cleaned up (I don't know much about it), but there MUST be a process and immigrants MUST follow it. Reduce the cost to free, make it simpler, whatever.

If you don't like the law, change it, don't disregard it.
