I knew the Chiang and the KMT were heavily influenced by the Germans, but I am surprised that they kept the Nazi salute copied from the Germans in the 30's during Chiang's little modernization movement.
Before the Germans sided with the Japanese Imperiliast Empire, the Germans gave equipment and training to the NRA (National Revolutionary Army). Such Equipment included the Infamous German "Stahlhelm" and the 98k along with prussianized uniforms and Mannerisms, such as the "Stechschritt" (Goose-Step).
walking like a prik will not keep u alive but ur brain will im speakin by experiance so dont try bwoi me off see me walkin like that n my own men will shoot me first seriously da guys on drugs
@daz18 I'm sure you know who the USMC are and their fighting capabilities. Watch one of the Silent Drill Platoon vids. Every country's military has a rich history of tradition and their drills reflect that.
@kimchiguru: admittedly the whole "honor guards" thing isn't really my bag but the reality is that most established nations have a honor guard tradition...... one to check out for it's formality and pomp are the changing of the border guards along the Indian-Pakistani border.
@daz18daz18daz18 This performance shows the dicipline in a man. And it also shows that they can follows direct orders that were given to them during training to be done during the performance. Like during a war, all the orders are given during training. In the battlefield if you are disciplined enough to follow those orders, then you will survive the war.
OMG, that is so difficult. I remember that I used to drop my light weighted riffle at the school military parade. I would drop dead from embarrassment if I drop my riffle in their situation. I feel a bit of sympathy for them, cos you have stand there for a long long time. Plus the riffles which they use looks very heavy. But then again, that's their full time job.
Great video~! There isn't any fancy drills performance like spinning of rifles when i was there last july. Hope i can watch live fancy drill performance. izzit any special occasion on that day. The place is full of people. When i was there last yr, only a few people there.
Wow, Exhibition Drill at a formal guard changing ceremony! That's a new one to me!
