  • what editing software do you use?

  • The music of Schindler's list...no words....

The Adventures Of Tintin was hands down the best animated movie i've ever seen! :D

  • Can anyone tell me which film it is at 1:42 ? When boy faces some sort of robot.

  • the girl at 1:30 what the film?

  • @1anrus war horse

  • Crying..... best.director.ever

  • I don't see why Terry Gilliam has to bash Spielberg for making feel good movies.

  • @Struckworld Agreed, he's more like an attention whore ever since he said that.

  • these videos are very well put together. i love them

  • I logged in just to say this: this video is perfect!

  • I see that you get a lot of responses requesting more entries into this series. I would like to not only commend your efforts and talent for these tributes, but say that as much as I would love to see you tackle some other greats like Scorsese or Kubrick, I think you have ended the series on the perfect note. I don't think any other filmmaker quite evokes the same love I and countless others have for movies as Spielberg does. I don't want to imagine a world without Steven Spielberg. Bravo.

  • @AdamBustin Thanks! Finding a good last note was crucial, I'm glad you agree with me on Spielberg.

  • Uh, Richard Donner directed The Goonies. The guy who directed Superman. I think Speilberg produced and wrote the film though.

  • YES HE DID WATCH THE OPENING CREDETS AND YOU WILL SEE THE NAME STEPHEN SPELBURG

  • Needs more Jaws.

  • [the films of] Jean-Pierre Jeunet, please

  • george lucas? films

  • you forgot the goonies

  • @TheTaylw1 he didn't make that

  • TE AGRADESCO ENORMEMENTE POR DEDICARLE TIEMPO A ENTREGARNOS ESTE TAN MARAVILLOSO TRIBUTO !!!

  • Woody Allen next, please...

  • I know you get requests a lot, so I'm sorry for adding another, but you should make one for Stanley Kubrick!

  • I'm very curious, how do you get these video clips in high definition? I usually use a capture card to get clips from movies, but that only works in standard def.

  • @crazyharry156 They're not actually high definition, they're PAL DVD's upscaled to 720p. I think people underestimate the quality of DVDs. Especially if you keep compression to a minimum (so don't turn the 7 GB DVD into a 700 MB file) the quality's actually really nice.

  • Can you make on for Tony Scott?

  • what about the films of darren aranofsky? :D....awesome videos btw!

  • That last shot of the cinema and that last line gave me chills up my spine

  • I love the Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan part.

  • did you watch the whole of all of these films to make this tribute video

  • the last scene was so amazing

  • hi,stephen how are you.its me again jean paul calleja.232/1 belgravia court, tower rd sliema malta.tel 21319708 or 99510168.dont hesitate to make contact.

  • I loved it - it felt like a ride down memory lane! :) Kenneth Branagh and Quentin Tarantino, please!

  • HARRY POTTER PLEASE!

  • Saw Duel for the first time last night. It was the television version, but still, really enjoyed it. One question though: Would you consider Duel or Sugarland Express as his first feature film? Many consider Duel was his first, but Steven feels his first feature was Sugarland. What is your view? I am just interested in your opinion, and if you consider Duel one of his features, why isn't 27 films listed in the description, instead of 26?

  • thankyou...got a bit teary....

  • Hey, make a video of martin scorcese's films!

  • Brilliant! Must have been hard to narrow down scenes for this with so many amazing movie moments, he has done so many iconic movies its impossible for me to choose one movie over another. Looking through all your 'films of' videos you've covered all my favourite directors, bar one - David Cronenberg, not saying you need to do his movies or anything lol but I'm sure if you ever do, it will be as outstanding as your other tributes.

  • ET put it best in this vid when he said "thank you". thank you, mr. spielberg for so many amazing films.

  • BTW,this doesn't mean I hated War Horse. The only films of his I really didn't care for are 1941,which was just a mess, and Temple of Doom, which is just unpleasant.

  • After viewing Tintin and War Horse today, here are my thoughts:Tintin is is the top 10 films, along such great works as Minority Report,Saving Private Ryan,Last Crusade, and of course,Schindler's List. War Horse, however,is in the bottom five, alongside Lost World,1941,Always,and Temple of Doom. Meant no offense, just my opinion. Great tribute to my all-time favorite director.

  • wow 85% of his films are great and the rest are just good!!!

    great video!!!!

  • I would love to see a films of Richard Donner. He is my second favorite director after Spielberg!

  • Oh John Williams, you are too good!

  • LOVE THESE!! KEEP IT UP!!

  • now do stanley kubricks!!!!! :D

  • @RainDrop551 somebody already did the one for Kubrick my friend.

  • i need the films of 23 24 25......100 ;)

  • LOVE IT :-)

  • Hi! awesome videos :) Please, do Quentin Tarantino. You know you want it :)

  • Awesome! I've seen 90% of these movies and LOVED them all! Now all I wanna see is watch the only ones!

  • The first minute of this video made me feel like a kid again, then the rest of the video remind me why he was great director.

Live on Steven Spielberg, Live on

  • Steven has dun so many films half of the video is about the titles

  • thumbs up

  • What for film is the 1:44? Looks like some sci-fi or what :)

Thanks for your great job, keep it up ;)

  • @AlienMatej A.I (artificial Intelligence)

  • @Hootshot112 I really good know that movie, but I haven´t recognized the scene. Thanks ;)

  • Steven Spielberg, if you ever read this:

You are one of the greatest directors to ever live. You have inspired others to simply pick up a camera and film what they want, to make their dreams come true. I hope one day I could meet you and shake your hand.

  • Hi!! I just want you to know that I am a huge fan (a french fan so sorry for my bad english^^)!

I've watch all your videos and it's just awsome!!!! great job

I'm waiting for the next [the films of] and "cinema 2012". can't wait for it.

  • @patchou93 Bonjour! Mon français n'est pas tres bien soit, mais merci beaucoup pour le message!

  • At the end, I am a big Kees fan, I've been following him since the beginning, I love his [the films of...] series. Even though I gave a honest criticism of his Tim Burtton video, and his Spielberg falls short as well, I ultimately give him my respect and admiration. What a talent he has and I wish nothing but the best for him. You can't please everyone and hype is everyone's enemy here. The last time I checked the kid is like 18 or something? Not many adults can boast about this kind of work =)

  • Also! Would love to see what you would do with the films of Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, and Alfonso Cuaron :D

  • [the films of] Wes Craven!!

    All the horror!!

  • thumbs up if you thought tintin was incredible

  • @TheTributeMedia I dislike people who aren't even very good at being a Karma-whore

  • Comment removed

  • @FightingForOurSanity duly noted fuckface

  • Not only 26 movies, but 26 movies with different aspect ratios. I guess it was impossible to take the same care for that problem as you did with the Pixar video. Understandable, but kind of a shame.

  • Can someone please repost the films of david fincher video? EMI blocked it from Australia

  • @trolltacular1 You can also watch it on Vimeo! All you do is go to vimeo(.)com/keesvandijkhuizen/tfo(name). So for example, Fincher would be vimeo(.)com/keesvandijkhuizen/tfodavidfincher .

  • @keesvdijkhuizen fuckin' props, dude :D

  • @keesvdijkhuizen I discovered you from a link on the side of a PTA interview, the amount of work you put into this really goes to show how much you love film and respect the people who make it. The whole artform. Your art grabbed my attention to man and I was wondering.. what kind of editing software do you use for everything?

  • Great!!!

  • Thank you so much for your [the films of] series. While I'm immensely saddened to see it go (and there are a slew of filmmakers I'd still love to see honored by your editing skill, including Tarantino, Scorsese, Eastwood, Aronofsky, and del Toro), I've enormously enjoyed the ride. :)

  • Thumbs up if there should be [the films of] videos for The Coen brothers and or JJ Abrams!

  • what happend to the movie super 8 steven directed that movie right

  • @TheHalomaster1337 No. JJ Abrams directed Super 8. Spielberg produced it.

  • Despite the naysayers, this is fantastic and a great end to your [films of] series. This is more in line with your previous great efforts since I think your newer ones were not as good. I hope you come back soon and make more of these :)

  • Loved it! Thank you for all the [the films of]. Huge fan! :)

  • You are getting too worked up about this, and now are trying to make it about more than it is. You are not defending your opinions now you are spamming and being a troll.

  • wonderful video

  • Knocked it out of the park again. Well done.

  • I thought this video was great, I don't know what the problem is...

  • fantastic!

  • "Someday... This is all going to end"

  • wow... that was the best possible way to end the films of. you were right to include the War Horse music. This is my favorite one yet.

  • give the guy a break and enjoy the fucking video

  • Nice video. Do NOT feed the troll!

  • As of now however, I have nothing against the people that like this video. I have nothing against the people that dont agree with me not liking the video. I DO however have a problem with people thinking they can suppress my opinions with insults. And assuming what I am capable of based on what I think. But if everyone is willing to just accept thoughts in a rational format, then there is no need to fight here. So guess we will just see what happens. Hopefully people will just get along now

  • Love this video, which is also a tribute to John Williams

  • Comment removed

  • I wish people could just enjoy an amazing video and shut the hell up, but....*shrugs* No matter what anyone says, this video, along with all the others, is fantastic and you should be proud in the fact that you have great talent and do what you love to do. People don't take into account that video editing is hard, time consuming work, but I guess the drudgery and toil of making snarky, jealousy-ridden comments on the videos of talented vidders can be hard work, too. Maybe.

  • @IrreveRANT100 right on man. we bust our asses on our vids.

I stay up literally almost all hours editing. I am actually pulling selects right now for a project. plus kees actually finished this long project. you know how many editors start something and it gets put on the back burner indefinitely? should be happy for the time that WAS freed up for it. and kees would know why I would want a longer vid. hehehe. I edit like 15min vids. I have to get used to the "short but sweet" methods :)

  • No segment 2 of the Twilight Zone movie?

  • Great tribute!

  • He didn't only create another installment for the [films of] for this month, but also a tribute to cinema of 2011. Cinema 2011 came out, in my opinion, spectacular. I don't think he lost his talent (just look at the other director tributes), he seemed to have concentrated more on Cinema 2011 than the Spielberg tribute. I'm slightly disappointed this tribute didn't meet my expectations, but you gotta give him props for seeing the series out to then end.

  • @TennesseClarks And that's what I was saying. I assumed it was because most of the steam was put into the c2k11 video. So its perfectly understandable if the other project suffered from it because of that. I appreciate the logical look at it. And I do give him props for finishing it. Like that other dude said, alot of people quit their videos. I just think its time for him to try something new. If not, I'll just watch someone else's videos. Its no big deal. Just need variety.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 dude, no one's trying to change your mind. From the comments I've read, they're all just trying to defend kees because you're saying that this video wasn't as good as you anticipated it. I, for one thought it was pretty good, maybe not as good as i anticipated it, but pretty good. And thats just the way some movies are in general. They build a bunch of hype and then it ends up getting mixed reviews. But you can't judge a director, or in this case an editor, for one flawed video

  • happy 2012 kees! thank you so much for sharing these fantastic works, it's a great pleasure for me to watch them and i'm always looking forward for the next. now this series ends, bit sad that there's no 'next' of it. but i know you'll keep going, and hope we can see more. best wishes! :)

  • Classic Kees. Happy new year !

  • @driftwood1408 But thank you. I realize now what I should have been calling "bullshit". His campaign. His false advertisement is the bullshit here. Cause I never "didnt" like the video. I just wanted more. In fact deep down in all my comments is the obvious desire to have seen him spend more time on this "a compliment". But im ready to deal with the negative comments of people who don't get that. Whether its you, that jackass AlPal, or Kees himself. So whatever.

  • film at 1:30, please

  • @1anrus It's Munich, I believe. Not sure, but pretty confident.

  • i dont think any video overview can do speilberg justice, but this was a good video

  • @Khameleon808 All I am saying. If he doesn't have time to work on a video, don't work on it. Its better than presenting this shit because his time runs out. Why are all of his fans stupid like you. You guys don't know anything about editing it would seem.

  • What is this? A pre-movie VHS studio promo?

  • @requiett

No, it's a tribute to the films of Steven Spielberg. It should be obvious.

  • movie at 1:43?

  • @daftpunkforeternity It looks like AI.

  • Comment removed

  • very well done. almost got chills, but almost is good enough for a youtube video. Keep it up!!

  • very good job. I'm gonna miss these videos but you have made a very good series. Peace.

  • Amazing dude. It takes REAL talent making a video like this. Congratulations.

  • i tohught steven filmed back to the future

  • @crazy8adv3ntures Nope, that was Robert Zemeckis

  • 2:20 "Fuck you!" ...

Just a joke! No, I like your Video! There is so much love in it! What is the Name of the last Song? I thing the song ist also in the trailer of War Horse (Sarah jessica Parkers new lead role).

  • Bottomline, this vid could have been 10 sec of shitty clips and Kees would still be an awesome editor. That will never change. But this vid is not great compared to what it was hyped up to be. That being said, I think the fans as well as kees took this information very immaturely. As far as fillin in the info, nothing new. He always waits for reviews to help skew his "process report" I bet this one says " i had no time left , etc" whatever man. Dude dropped the ball on this one. Sorry its true

  • i had goosebumps during the whole video :D

  • And can we all agree that at least that final bit at the end is perfect?

  • There is precisely a minute and 15 seconds of titles, all of which are done pretty damn well and accurately, if I may. My problem is the midsection. That usually is a time for more action. This video just drowned a bit too much in its own sentimentality. Like most of Spielberg's movies! This is a perfectly accurate portrayal of Spielberg's films! Maybe the reason we're unhappy is that his films this year skew just a bit disappointing. I think he just needed a different director to finish is all.

  • Bravo!Thank you to all your The films of video series!

  • That was beautiful :]

  • God this was beautiful.

  • Guys, don't be assholes to kees. You're saying his video are mostly titles, but what did you expect from a montage of 26 movies? And kees makes his videos short only because he has very little time to make them. He only has 1 month to gather the movies and music, edit the music and the videos, and make the promos. Kees has inspired me to edit videos for youtube and I know now how tough it really is. Please don't disrespect him and just thank him for doing such an awesome work all year round.

  • @01AlPal01 I think what they're saying is the whole title thing doesn't work well at all when you have such a huge number of movies.

  • @01AlPal01 Ok so you are sayin its ok to not put as much time into your video because you have less time to put into it? This guy wants to do this professionally and takes his own videos very seriously. That alone should warrant more than 5 min spent on someone who has done more for cinema than Kees ever will. I dont edit. But I don't imagine its that hard once you know the software. If I were, you better believe Id spend more time WORKING on the video instead of TALKING about it.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 I'd like to consider myself an editor. It takes a lot of time.

  • @driftwood1408 I know editors also. I know how much time it takes to create what I'm seeing here. Anyone who has these movies memorized, shouldn't spend much time piecing this together. He did very little sound mixing, ZERO effects, and no post production coloring. So either the vid was rushed or like I said, executed poorly. Even other editors on this page have claimed it should have been more than what it is. So its not just my "non-editor" opinion.

  • @driftwood1408 And I am starting to hate his fans. Some of the most immature group of patriots ive ever seen online. Specifically, the ones that feel cursing at me, threatening me, and asking me to create something better. As if film critics all have to be directors themselves. And it seemed he talked about it more on tumblr and twitter than editing it. I would be willing to accept that most of his energy went into C2k11 and just didnt have much left over to make the deadline.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 It just feels like a lot of assumptions, buddy. The sorts of people who take ANYTHING that seriously are insane. He did have to edit 20+ movies together into one video in a month and I'm gonna guess (yes, I know... guess) that he doesn't know every single spielberg movie by heart and probably actually had to go out of his way to find the movies to watch AND put into the editing. This is just to add perspective.. it's really not that easy.

  • @driftwood1408 Then he has no business making a tribute video for a director he hasnt even taken the time to know the sources to. Read his descriptions dude. The way he sells this series is like "people that touched our lives" but yet he has to do all this research on the sources? Riight. Look im not gonna get into it with you over this comment. Cause you ARE starting to comment on the video now like its part of your original point.

  • @driftwood1408 No one asked him to try and fit all these movies into the project. Let alone asked him to select titles that he knew would be difficult to link together with such a short deadline. He could have took the 6 or 7 major films with a common theme and made it better than tryin to cram everything into one. Toss in the hype of the "LETS END IT TOGETHER" campaign. Result, anti-climatic series that had tons of promise and potential in its development but dropped the ball.

  • @driftwood1408 But as of now, its all the fans making excuses for him. Attacking anyone who doesn't just straight up worship his work. You're cool about it, but others are very immature about it and speaking for him. BTW no one said he sold out. He's just "over-promoting" what we are actually seeing. Do you understand that? How could he have sold out anyway? Its not like he's working in hollywood and ditched his fans here. And his comment did suck, he misread about social media.

  • @01AlPal01 You are exactly the type of mindless fan I was exemplifying earlier. Who fails to see how the concept went from very good to rushed and tacked on. You act like I haven't seen all his videos prior to this. In fact this whole thing is BECAUSE I've seen his earlier "better" works. If you don't have alot of time to work on a video, then dont do it. Id rather see something that took longer to make great, than something halfassed to make a deadline.

  • @01AlPal01 Yeah, mindless fan. I can make a better video than this in less than a month. That much I can guarantee. And that includes learning whatever software. I know for a fact it is easy, I know people who edit. This guy's problem is the "time" he has to work on it. And like I said, If you dont have time to fully put work into something, dont do it. No one is looking to be satisfied here. I gave up on that with his vids a while back. Look how mad you guys get though.

  • @01AlPal01 So why dont you grow up and learn to let people have an opinion.

  • @01AlPal01 At least Id get the aspect ratio right. lmao

  • @01AlPal01 Y U SO MAD kid? You use words like "trashy". You dont know Kees or Me personally. All you know about us is the vids he makes and the opinions I make. So you getting all mad over something that got you butthurt makes no sense. And it certainly doesn't change the way this video failed. Coming from someone who makes really poor videos, you have no concrete foundation to say what I would create. You already presented your works, and they are very bad man. But please continue to rage

  • @01AlPal01 And what you are NOT SEEING HERE, is that people agree with me. You act like I am all alone in this thought. Dont jump ship on the subject and point here. I am NOT upset, just disappointed that a director cant get more recognition from someone who is so praised for EVERY single nugget of shit he exports out of his timeline. Its insulting to those who "imagined" more based on his posts hyping it up. In fact, until you understand why people are mad, dont bother posting.

  • @01AlPal01 And it was also his reply and the way it was handled by the fans like you, that also make this an issue. As if saying something wrong about his video is just sooooo taboo, that anyone that does it will get flamed. Well I am glad I am the one doing it then. Cause I can more than take the flaming from little shits like you that wanna just follow in lockstep with all the other drones that just stamp APPROVED on his vids without a viewer criteria. Some of us expect more from this guy.

  • @01AlPal01 You brought up how I "couldn't edit" So you subject-jumped first as to what I could do personally vs what we were discussing. And you already stated how mad you were in a previous post. BTW I am fine with 20 people being with me on this. Obviously my opinion does mean something since you put enough thought into it to have it make an appearance in your comment twice. So basically if you wanna assign blame of immaturity, better look at yourself first. Presumptuous and angry

  • @01AlPal01 I dont know where you are coming from with this "revolution" talk. Its not like this guy is the king of editing that needs to be taken out. I could care less how many "likes" a video has. Popularity doesnt equal talent. That shows more evident today than it ever has. I only responded more than once because the way Kees and you lil girls are handling one comment that's not kissing his ass. Not because I'm angry. Why would I be? Its not my video.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 I think you make some valid points and I'd like to talk with you about them, but please stop calling the people that do enjoy the video little girls, my 'nutriders' (that's my personal favorite) and an immature group of patriots. I have no problem with people criticizing my work, but don't make it personal when it doesn't have to be. I can only learn from people who disagree with me so please, don't claim I don't take any comment against me seriously.

  • @keesvdijkhuizen Yeah, you're right. Bringing others into it was a mistake. The point was made already I think. That's why I thought I'd stop posting. In my defense however, Ill say that the ones I was singling out with that comment were that ones that chose to attack me for my opinion. My apologies to the rest of the fans that had no part in the argument. Anyway, I learned a vid is a vid whether 20sec or 20min. To each their own. No hard feelings anymore. Its a new year.

  • @keesvdijkhuizen And that goes double for you Kees. I am more than willing to stop talkin about your fans. But if you are gonna sit here and let them insult me without reprimand, then I dont see the point in honoring your wishes. If you wanna tell them to put a lid on it as well, cool. If not, then it just looks like you are letting everyone else fight your battles for you and not letting the minority speak up about it. And THAT is pretty weak and goes beyond this editing shit.

  • @01AlPal01 And look here sunshine, If you are feeling "attacked" cause I only stated the obvious about your videos being utter shit, I am sorry you feel that way. Doesn't change the fact your AR is way off on your vids. So you are half right about it "not meaning jack shit" If my footage looked squeezed to shit like yours and someone mentioned it, I would fix it. Not tell the person their opinion doesn't mean shit. This is why each of your posts are funnier than the last. Cry moar

  • @01AlPal01 From now on if you got something to say to me personally, then msg me PERSONALLY. Otherwise your public temper tantrums will only serve to make you look more desperate than your grip on kees' coat tails. I will stick by this opinion. NO amount of likes of fans attacking me will make me think otherwise. Kees was never attacked. I think he's awesome and great at editing. So don't twist words around. Swearing at me and defending your inferior work doesn't help Kees either.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 you have some issues, man. i was minding my own business, saying how i enjoyed the video and then you come and reply to my comments and my videos like you know me or something. I read through all ur comments, saying how u think kees is full of himself. how u think he blocks other people's videos because they're similar to his. It just sounds to me like someone's jealous of kees' success. But then you go around saying he's a great editor... wtf. You confuse me. You need help bro.

  • @01AlPal01 Yeah. And I must be imagining all the other people that feel the same way too right? Minding your business? You flat out insulted me, sayin I dont know shit about editing. And I dont know what 'success" you speak of to be jealous of As I said 'views dont equal awesome' to me. And you can be full of yourself and still make great edits.I know a couple editors who are major assholes but geniuses. You're just easily confused and need the help, not me. Start by fixing your work.

  • @01AlPal01 Seems you stopped defending kees and are more preoccupied with defending yourself. So you are not relevant to the conversation any longer. The topic is how this vid fails both as a series wrap up and a video as a whole. And how Kees handled the reply to the opinion. Yeah man, I am jealous that I cant handle criticism as smooth as Kees and you seem to be. (lol) If anyone is gonna be accused of jealousy of kees, its YOU. You dont see a like-minded project on my channel.

  • @izotoppuIsGay6 wait. can you please explain to me how kees reacted to your comment? it seemed to me like to took lightly your comment saying his video is "bullshit yo". what was so barbaric about his response? i don't get it.
