I can't believe you aren't mentioning Robin's departure from the series. It was the saddest ending I've ever seen, one that leaves the audience wondering up to which degree is Batman really righteous when his young sidekick becomes tired of fighting crime and killing. Thought provoking. DC needs to buy the rights and make this a comic or a movie asap. It's the first time a Batman story has such a dramatic character and plot development.

Glorious. In my many years of Batman fandom, I have never seen any story as gripping as this. The fact that Batman was torn enough by Alfred's death that he would discard his one rule is entirely in character, and fitting. I'm glad that I could see this in my lifetime.

Using his superb grasp of the written word, Peter Chimera expertly shows Batman struggling with his true nemesis...the darkness he embraces to fight crime. This darkness, which is within all evil, makes him loose everything he holds dear.
